LIBERTY - Marvin David Bridges, 67, of 456 Sizemore Ave. Ext., died Wednesday, June 10, 1998.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gene Booker and the Rev. Roger Riffle officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a managing partner of Carolina Swine Pork Producers, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member and past commander of American Legion Post 81, a member of the 40 and 8 Voiture 1172 and he attended First Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Bernice Sizemore Bridges of the home; son, W.G. "Dub" Bridges of Greensboro; one granddaughter.

Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, was in charge of the arrangements.

Rena M. Cox

LIBERTY - Rena Martin Cox, 80, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Andy Hill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

She was a native of Vance County, was formerly of Liberty and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are daughters, Phyllis Lowe of Level Cross, Jo Ann Foster of Asheboro, Kay Dziabas of Climax; son, Larry C. Cox of Climax; sisters, Lena M. Dixon, Ruth M. Ham, Ruby M. Hartsell, all of Greensboro; brother, Marty Martin of Kings Mountain; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to donor's choice.

Ella H. Nelson

LIBERTY - Ella Hunt Nelson, 90, of 112 E. High Ave., died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Old Union United Methodist Church Cemetery, Sophia, with the Rev. William Bigham officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of George D. Nelson, a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith.

Surviving are daughter, Helen N. Crutchfield of Liberty; sisters, Leona Stockwell, Tula Underwood, both of Randleman; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of the daughter, 803 S. Fayetteville St., Liberty.

Nick M. Gannaway

TRINITY - Nick Manrandas Gannaway, 49, of Gray Alford Road, formerly of Darr Road, died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Haizlip Funeral Home, High Point, with the Rev. William Thompson officiating.

He was a native of High Point, of the Methodist faith and was a former employee of Colonial International Trucks, Inc.

Edward A. Palmer

SILER CITY - Edward Andrae Palmer, 19, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Sanctuary of Deliverance Church, Greensboro, where he was a member. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park, Siler City.

Surviving are parents, Edward Lee and Vonnell Palmer of the home; brothers, Arthur Lee Palmer, Chester Stanley Palmer, both of Siler City, Anthony Jerome Palmer of the home; sisters, Angela Snead, Kim Palmer, both of Siler City; grandparents, Saul Williams of Greensboro, Bishop and Mrs. O.M. Palmer of Siler City.

The family will be at Unity Power House, Siler City, 7-8 p.m. Friday.

FAYETTEVILLE - Pauline Hobson Lowe, 83, of 1990 Fairforest Drive, died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Cape Fear Valley Hospital.

A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Friday at Highland Funeral Home, Fayetteville. Burial will be in Cape Charles, Va.

She was a 1934 graduate of Appalachian State University, a North Carolina elementary school teacher and was a retired Federal Finance Officer, Williamsburg, Va.

Surviving are son, Larry Thomas of Griffin, Ga.; daughter, Janet Shipp of Fayetteville; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

The family will be at the funeral home 7:30-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to the Asheboro/Randolph Public Library.

Rev. Dillard M. Stanley

NEWTON - Rev. Dillard William Martin Stanley, 74, of 2024 N. Shipp Ave., died Wednesday, June 10, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bible Truth Church, Ramseur, with the Rev. L.N. Stanley Jr., the Rev. Jason Watkins and the Rev. Glenn Miller officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Surry County, employed as a carpenter and was an evangelist.

Surviving are wife, Ila Mae Cain Stanley of the home; daughters, Linda Tester of Newton, Patsy Sigmon of Hickory; brothers, Elmer Stanley of Liberty, Robie Stanley of Greensboro, Paul Ray Stanley of Asheboro, L.N. Stanley Jr. of Ramseur; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Mary H. Williamson

GIBSON - Mary Eutha Hunsucker Williamson, 85, formerly of Gibson, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at Brian Center Health & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pine Crest Cemetery, Gibson.

She was a native of Laurinburg, the widow of both Harold Samuel Fleck and Preston Leroy Williamson, was a graduate of Gibson High School, East Carolina University and of City Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem, with a degree in registered nursing and was a member of Gibson United Methodist Church.

McDougald Funeral Home and Crematorium, Laurinburg, is in charge of the arrangements.

Evelyn H. Gallimore
Evelyn Hunt "Dot" Gallimore, 69, of 328 Sunset Drive N., Asheboro, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dade Sherman and Rev. Mark Sink officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park.

She was retired from Asheboro Jewelry and Southern Wholesale Co.

Surviving are husband, Jay Gallimore of the home; son, Darrell Gallimore and Steve Gallimore, both of Greensboro, and Dennis Gallimore of Asheboro; brothers, Howard Bunting of Archdale and Kenneth Hunt of Asheboro; two grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-9 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home.

William R. Medlin Jr.

William Ray Medlin Jr., 66, of 357 Back Creek Terrace, Asheboro, died June 12, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Back Creek Friends Meeting with the Rev. Ray Lambe and Rev. John Sides officiating.

He was a native of High Point, a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, an aviation instructor with Piedmont Airlines and Guilford Technical Community College and a 32nd degree Mason.

Surviving are wife, Doris Overbury Medlin of the home; sons, Bill Medlin of Asheboro and Steve Medlin of Chapel Hill; sister, Ruth Andrews of High Point; two step-grandchildren.

The family will be at Cumby Mortuary Eastchester Drive 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home of son, Bill Medlin, 337 Back Creek Terrace, Asheboro.

Lonnie Bumpass

LIBERTY - Lonnie Bumpass, of 905 W. Swannanoa Ave., died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Stephens A.M.E. Church in Liberty. Burial will be in Amos Grove Cemetery.

Surviving are wife, Lou Bumpass of Liberty; daughter, Beverly Bumpass of Greensboro; son, Alonzo Bumpass of Liberty; stepson, James Allen Matthews of Liberty; brothers, James Bumpass and Ray Bumpass, both of Liberty, and Ervin Bumpass of Ramseur; sisters, Mamie Wilhite and Dorthory Smith, both of Greensboro.

The family will be at the church 7-8 p.m. Monday.

Kimes Funeral Service in Liberty is in charge of arrangements.

Bobby C. Gregory

MT. GILEAD - Bobby Carlton Gregory, 58, of 552 Springwood Drive, Lake Tillery, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at NorthEast Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord with the Rev. Chuck Hensley and Rev. Cam Ervin officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

He was a native of Iredell County, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam with 17 years of service, a member of Young Memorial Baptist Church and the D.A.V. and was employed as a truck drive for West Brothers Trucking Co. of Charlotte.

Surviving are wife, Brenda Ferrier Gregory of the home; son, Thomas Gregory of Wickenburg, Ariz.; daughters, Bobbie Anne Horton and Jennifer Wallace, both of Concord, and Robbin St. John of Asheboro; brother, Ronnie P. Gregory of Concord; 10 grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday and other times at the home of Jennifer Wallace, 33 Lee Court, Concord.

Elizabeth H. Holshouser

GRANITE QUARRY - Elizabeth Virginia Holshouser Holshouser, 82, died Saturday, June 13, 1998, at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Salisbury.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Christiana Lutheran Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Carl M. Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Rowan County, a graduate of Rockwell High School, retired after 20 years with Rickman Manufacturing Company in Salisbury, a former employee of Carolina Maid and Gerber, and the widow of Clifford Bernard Holshouser Sr.

Surviving are sons, Clifford Bernard Holshouser Jr. of Salisbury, Michael "Mickey" William Holshouser of Huntersville and Donald Gene Holshouser and Larry Wayne Holshouser, both of Rockwell; daughters, Joyce Foster and Judy Livengood, both of Salisbury, Sandra Taylor of Marietta, Ohio, and Peggy Owen of Asheboro; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Lyerly Funeral Home in Salisbury 7-8:30 p.m. Monday and other times at the residence in Granite Quarry.

Elmer G. Kellam

STAR - Elmer Grady Kellam, 60, of 833 Griffin Farm Road, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Monday at Dover Baptist Church in Seagrove with the Rev. Lonnie Gibson and Rev. Mike Holyfield officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Montgomery County and employed with McNeill's Frame Shop.

Surviving are wife, Eula Mae Greene Kellam of the home; daughter, Gail Davis of Candor; sister, Veiona Jarrell of Star; brother, Cleo Kellam of Candor; half-sister, Bonnie Marsihto of Pleasant Garden; half-brothers, Freddie Kellam and Teddie Kellam, both of Pleasant Garden, and Eddie Kellam of Greensboro; stepmother, Fleta Mae Kellam Foy of Pleasant Garden; three grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home in Star 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

William M. Loftin

ALBEMARLE - William Madrid Loftin, 80, of 1418 Hickory Ave., died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service was held 11 a.m. Saturday at Sharon Cemetery in Mt. Gilead.

He was a native of Mount Olive, a 1936 graduate of Durham High School and retired tool and machine shop design engineer with over 43 years of service.

Surviving is son, Larry K. Loftin of Baltimore, Md.

McKeithan Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead was in charge of arrangements.

Virginia T. Lucas

ROBBINS - Virginia Thomas Lucas, 55, of 1267 Spies Road, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

William C. Sizemore

CLIMAX - William C. "Bud" Sizemore, 81, died Friday, June 12, 1998, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

Surviving are wife, Verna Kellam Sizemore of the home; sons, John Snemis of Forth Worth, Texas, Tommy Sizemore of Randleman, and David Sizemore of Greensboro; daughters, Linda Emken of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Doris Holt of Liberty; brother, Audrey Sizemore of Greenville, S.C.; sister, Lilliam Williams of Gibsonville; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

Donna Blanche St. Clair, 87, of 1383 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, June 15, 1998, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

A cryptside service will 11 a.m. Tuesday at Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Lockbridge, W. Va., a retired teacher and principal, a member of Browers Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 15 years and was a graduate of the University of West Virginia with a Masters of Education.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
