TROY - Billie Junior "Jay" Thompson, 72, of 699 Dennis Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, Candor, with the Rev. Tracey Ritter officiating. Burial will be in Lovejoy United Methodist Church Cemetery, Troy.
He was a native of Montgomery County and the owner/operator of a furniture repair shop.

LIBERTY - Curtis W. Boyles, 87, of 5749 Ramseur Julian Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Shiloh United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Carroll Lupton and the Rev. David Heath officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Stokes County and a retired farmer, carpenter and local barber. He was Sunday School superintendent at his church for nearly 40 years, an active member of the Methodist Men, the choir and a past president of the Memorial Association.
Surviving are wife, Farie Mae Wicker Boyles; daughters, Jeanette B. Williams of Liberty, Sherry B. Bailey of Greensboro; son, Roy W. Boyles of High Point; sister, Nina B. Parker of King; brother, Harding Boyles of Kernersville; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Chatham County and an employee with Communication Cable Inc.

She was a native of Surry County, the widow of W. Glenn Flinchum, the chaplain of Jackson Terrace Apartments and a quilt maker.

He was a retired paper carrier and a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #181.

ASHEBORO - Robert Henry Yow, 69, of 810 Sherwood Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Dan Neely and the Rev. Rodney Purcell officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Randolph Oil and had served as a fireman with the Asheboro Fire Department. He attended Browers Memorial Wesleyan Church, was a member of Asheboro Masonic Lodge #699 and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Oasis Temple of Charlotte.
Surviving are fiancée, Dorothy Rice of the home; daughter, Jamie Y. Poole of Asheboro; son, Robert Terry Yow of Hickory; sisters, Louise Cole, Betty McMillan, JoAnn Cranford, Mary Ludlum, all of Asheboro; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of Carl Irwin Byrd and a homemaker and a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

He was a native of Cabarrus County, the widow of Seneca Bernice Morton Huneycutt, the owner/operator of Old Charlotte Road Texaco, retired from Cannon Mills and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Maudie Ritter Brady, a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a retired painter.
