Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cedar Falls Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Russell Chriscoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker and retired from Black and Decker.
Surviving are husband, Michael Callicutt, of the home; daughters, Sandra Rush of Franklinville, Melonia Johnson and Donna Blackwell, both of Asheboro; sons, Jeffery Davidson and Gary Davidson, both of Asheboro, Charles Davidson of Randleman and Greg Callicutt of the home; sister, Ruth Ann Brower of Asheboro; brother, James Scott of La Puente, Calif.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

ASHEBORO - Jacob Peter Cebula Jr., 51, of 1238 Autumn Lane, Asheboro, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.
He was a native of Rome, N.Y., and employed by the U.S. Forestry Service, Uwharrie National Forest. He was a member of the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Wake Forest.
Surviving are wife, Emily Greene Cebula, of the home; daughter, Margaret Rose Cebula, or the home; son, Jacob N. Cebula of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters, Amy C. Cooley of Cobb, Calif., and Elizabeth Cebula, of Medina, N.Y.
The family will receive friends Monday at the home.

ASHEBORO - Edwin Earl Buckner, 72, of 3138 Old U.S. 13, Asheboro, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cane River Baptist Church Cemetery, Burnsville, with the Rev. Russ Ward officiating.
He was a native of Burnsville, a U.S. Army veteran, and retired as the county executive officer for the Randolph County ASCS office after 37 years of service. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are wife, June Buckner, of the home; son, William Michael Buckner of Asheboro; sister, Billie Ayers of Kingsport, Tenn.; one grandson.

ASHEBORO - Faye McCombs Nance, 92, of 312 Springwood Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Dr. John S. Rogers and Pastor Boyd Byerly officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
She was an alumni of Meredith College, was formerly employed with McCown-Smith in Asheboro and Belk's of Charlotte. She was the widow of Frazier Nance and a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters, Emily Nance and Joretta McNeill, both of Asheboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

SOPHIA - Raeford Franklin Mendenhall, 77, of 3742 Lyndon Lane, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Jack Clark officiating. Burial will be in Marlboro Friends Meeting Cemetery, Sophia.
He was a native of Guilford County and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also a self-employed carpenter and a member of Sophia United Church of Christ.
Surviving are wife, Margaret B. Mendenhall of Sophia; sons, C.T. Mendenhall and Clay Mendenhall, both of Sophia; two granddaughters; one great-granddaughter.

He was a native of Chatham County, a chicken and cattle farmer and a deacon in his church. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. and Kathryn Terry Johnson.

She was an employee of Ansco Film and later GAF in Binghamton, N.Y., as a darkroom supervisor for 43 years. She was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving are caregivers, Neal and Joyce Parsons; nephews, David Buckland of Star, Richard Darby and Butch Pello of Binghamton, N.Y.; nieces, Kathy Carr, Peggy Valenti and Donna Pollack all of Binghamton, N.Y.

ASHEBORO - Carrie Lanier Brittain, 100, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002.

She was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Woman's College), the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Library Science and a graduate of the University of West Virginia at Morgantown, where she earned a master's. She was a teacher in North Carolina, a librarian at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, W.Va., and a retired librarian with Davidson College. She taught in the first Daily Vacation Bible School at her church and was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member and held offices in AAUM (American Association of University Women); the Sorosis Club of Asheboro; the Historical Book Club of North Carolina; the Virginia Dare Chapter of the Daughters of the Colonists; the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Earl of Shaftesbury Chapter of National Society of Colonial Dames, XVII Century; the North Carolina Division of the National Society of the Magna Charta Dames; and the Randolph County Public Library Club, where she was a founding member.

ASHEBORO - Alice Wright Ward, 90, of 816 Oakmont Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Spencer, the widow of George F. Ward and a church secretary at First Presbyterian Church in Salisbury. She was the first office manager for Randolph Electric, a bookkeeper and a gift shop manager at General Hardware. She ran for state Senate and worked for the Randolph County Tax Department. She was a member of the Randolph County Republican Women, a Gray Lady at Randolph Hospital and a member of Central U.M.C.
Surviving are son, Ralph Ward of the home; brother, Kirby H. "Bill" Wright of Virginia Beach, Va.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Harold Rush and a retired worker from Foamex, Inc.

Surviving are husband, Thomas B. Hopper; son, Ray Thomas Hopper of Lilburn, Ga.; stepbrother, Jack Baldwin of St. Charles, Mo.; stepsisters, Barbara Baldwin Miller of Mesa, Ariz., Helen Baldwin of Jacksonville, Ill.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of Blake Stuart, a retired seamstress with A.J. Schneierson & Sons and the mission director at her church.
