Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Pastor Eugene Ussery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
A native of Moore County, she was employed with the N.C. Department of Transportation as a Transportation Worker.
Surviving are husband, Roger D. Davis; daughter, Penny Mosher of Cameron; son, Robert S. "Robbie" Baker Jr. of Carthage; sisters, Kathleen Slawson of Smithfield, Fla., Mildred Needham of Tampa, Fla., Shirley Frye of Southern Pines, Dale Howard of Durham; brothers, Billy Evans of Vass, Danny Evans of Carthage; three grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Homer Marvin Johnson, 90, of 729 S. Main St., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Jonathan Shook officiating. Burial will be in Midway Wesleyan Church Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps veteran and an auto body repair technician.
Surviving are daughter, Joy J. Painter of Rock Spring, Ga.; son, Jerry Charles Johnson of Rock Spring, Ga.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

BURLINGTON - Lovie Evans Smith Setzer, 88, of 507 Everett St., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at her home.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Altamahaw Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Delmar Scotton officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
She was a native of Surry County and the widow of Charlie Herman Smith and Fred Lee Setzer. She was a Sunday School teacher and president of the Ladies Auxiliary at her church and the previous operator of Smith Dry Cleaners.
Surviving are daughters, Peggy Thiel and Geri Haas of Roswell, Ga.; sister, Betty King of Asheboro; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Velma Stanton Sadler, 67, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2002, at SunBridge Care Facilities, Siler City.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating.
She was a native of Pamlico County, a member of Sapling Ridge United Methodist Church and a Siler City police dispatcher for 15 years.
Surviving are son, Lou Sadler of Carthage; daughter, Lori Sadler of Carthage; sisters, Mary Ann Self of Siler City, Carolyn Lemons of Apex.

BENNETT - Henry Lee Cheek, 80, of Highfalls, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Pinelake Health Center, Carthage.

He was a native of Chatham County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired carpenter.

A native of Bayonne, N.J., she attended St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a former employee with Continental Canning Co., Milltown, N.J., and a past president of the AFL-CIO Union.
Surviving are sons, Jeffrey Serafin of the home, Jimmy Cavezza of Lynchburg, Va.; daughters, Jacqueline Cottrell of Delray Beach, Fla., Jennifer Serafin of Thassos, Greece; sister, Mary Stewart of Red Bank, N.J.; three grandchildren.

He was a native of Guilford County, a graduate of Pleasant Garden High School and a former member of the Greensboro Shriner's Club. He retired from Duke Power after 28 years.

He was a native of Barrow County, Ga., the widower of Charleen "Nancy" Stuart Finch and a retired employee of NorthState Telephone Co. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, a member of the High Point Golf Association and a former member of the High Point Police Reserve and V.F.W.
Surviving are daughters, Phoebe Osborne of Thomasville, Charnee Floyd of Rhode Island; son, James C. Finch Jr. of Asheboro; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

CHARLOTTE - Millard Brady Thomas Jr., died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
He was a native of Charlotte, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a graduate of Western Carolina University with a B.S. and of Appalachian State University with an M.A. He was a North Carolina public school teacher and principal for 36 years, 35 years of which was in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. He also taught and coached in the Pinehurst City Schools. He was a member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association, raised American Saddlebred horses and received a Certificate of Merit from the American Red Cross.
Surviving are wife, Martha Knight Thomas; son, Dr. Millard Brady "Brad" Thomas III of Asheboro; daughter, Cindia T. Brown of Charlotte; two grandchildren.
