Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ralph Kraft officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Hal C. York Jr., a retired employee of General Electric and Black & Decker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are husband, Robert "Buck" Curtis of the home; daughter, Lynn Smith of Asheboro; son, Hal Craig York Asheboro; stepdaughter, Joan Curtis of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Ruth Lane of Greensboro, Helen Toomes of Randleman; brother, Tom Julian of Randleman; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Addison Leon Davis, 71, of 1914 Levance St., Asheboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvary United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Fran Moran and the Rev. Dave Cash officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with full Masonic rites.
He was a native of Sophia, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired employee of Quality Auto Sales. He was a member of Hanks Masonic Lodge #128 AF & AM, a member and current Master of Balfour Lodge #188, a 330 Scottish Rite Mason, Past Master, Past District Deputy Grand Master and Past District Grand Lecturer of the 37th Masonic District. He was an honorary member of all Randolph County Masonic Lodges, served on the Advisory Council of Demolay Rising Sons Chapter and Past Patron Virgin Chapter #17 Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are wife, DeLette Anderson Davis; sons, Bruce A. Davis of Marietta, Ga., Jeff C. Davis Sr. of Winston-Salem; daughter, Amy D. King of Durham; brother, Wade Davis of Randleman; three grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Garland Porter Pritchard, 76, of 918 Trollinger Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Central United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore and the Rev. Barry Queen officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He was a native of Asheboro, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of High Point College. He was active in real estate.
Surviving are wife, Exie Greene Pritchard of Asheboro; daughter, Cecelia Pritchard of Asheboro.

MT. GILEAD - Jessie Thomas, 57, of 295 Northview Road, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at Duke Uni-versity Medical Center, Durham.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Leah Levin Auditorium, with the Rev. Billy Alston officiating. Burial will be in Thomasville Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County and a child care provider.
Surviving are sons, Harvey Thomas and James Thomas, both of Mt. Gilead; sisters, Lonnie Mae Bowden, Catherine Martin, Gwendolyn Thomas, Martha Watkins, all of Mt. Gilead; five grandchildren.
The family will be at the auditorium one hour prior to the service.

She was a native of Bethlehem, Pa., a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church.

He was a native of Montgomery County, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Lowe Warner American Legion Post #159 of Troy. He retired from Sprint after 38 years of service.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Roy Lee Williams and attended Sawyersville Wesleyan Church. She was an avid seamstress and quilter and a homemaker.
Surviving are son, Michael Williams of Trinity; daughter, Shirley Ritch of Denton; brothers, Richard Lyndon and Ralph Lyndon, both of Asheboro; four granddaughters.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cross Road Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Johnny R. Henderson and the Rev. Lee Ziegler officiating.
He was a native of Randolph County, a Sunday School teacher and trustee at his church. He was a Army/Air Force veteran of World War II where he received the President's commendation and a retired major with the U.S. Army Reserve. He was also retired from Union Carbide Corporation with over 35 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Louise U. Redding; daughter, Brenda Wells of Sudbury, Mass., brother, Dallas Redding of Hopkins, S.C., Dennis Redding of Asheboro, Earl Redding of Silver Springs, Md., J.B. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he was a member and a past Deacon, with the Rev. David Owen, the Rev. Jack Tripp and the Rev. Franklin (Buddy) Fox officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Randolph Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Globe Furniture Company. He later worked for the Randolph County Sheriff's Department in the Transportation Division and also served the sheriff's department as an assistant Chaplain.
Surviving are wife, Angela Spencer Steed, of the home; son, Guy Steed of Cedar Square; daughters, Donna Whitaker, Elaine Harris and Renee Porter, all of Cedar Square; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Jewel Downs of Monroe and Faye Saunders of Cedar Square.

She was a native of Wilmington.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, with the Rev. Oscar "Sonny" Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery at Poplar Camp.
She was a member of Jackson Chapel Church of God of Prophecy and the widow of William Garfield Hurd Jr.
Surviving are son, Thomas W. "Tom" Jones of Austinville; daughter, Annette Robertson of Wytheville; sisters, Mildred Eversole of Austinville and Kathryn Horney of Wytheville; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
