CHERRYVILLE - James Willie Durant, 63, of Cherryville, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Fairview Baptist Church, Cherryville. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Troy.
He was a native of Troy and retired after 21 years at Carolina Freight.
Surviving are brothers, Robert Durant and Herbert Durant, both of Troy, Earl Durant of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Durant of Cherryville, Larry Durant of Kings Mountain; sisters, Wilhelmena Parker of Philadelphia, Pa., Carolyn Samuels of Brooklyn, N.Y., Teresa Williams of Troy.
The family will be at Covington Missionary Baptist Church, Troy, 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Michael Durant, 741 Old Post Road, Cherryville.

ASHEBORO - Ruby Elaine Hall Haigler, 56, of 524 Cooper St., Asheboro, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Randolph Hospital.
Celebration of life service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Central United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Christopher Thore and the Rev. Barry Queen officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the former executive director of the Family Crisis Center, a former Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader and an instructor in the Family Violence Program at Randolph Community College.
Surviving are husband, Richard J. Haigler of the home; daughter, Angie Queen of Coleridge; son, Nicholas Haigler of Greenville; sister, Janice Byrd of Pleasant Garden; brothers, Larry Hall and Darrell Parks, both of Asheboro; two grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 1-2 p.m. Sunday.

She was a native of Guilford County, the widow of Garrett Hobert Teague and retired from Cone Mill, Greensboro.
Surviving are sisters, Frances R. Yow, Mildred R. Oliver and Margaret R. Snow, all of Randleman, Decie R. Moody of Ramseur, Betty R. Rodden of Archdale; brothers, Winfred "Wink" Russell, Arthur "Doc" Russell and Lee Roy Russell, all of Randleman, Jimmy Russell of Greensboro.

THOMASVILLE - Cecil Pryor Allen, 74, of 133 Circle Drive, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, Thomasville, with the Rev. Jerome Livengood officiating.
He was a native of Tallapoosa, Ga., and retired from Randolph Community College after 20 years, where he served as the director of photo finishing. He owned and operated Cecil Allen Custom Color Lab in Thomasville, was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are wife, Carolyn Mims Allen of the home; sons, Michael Allen of Orlando, Fla., Daniel Allen of Greensboro; sister, Mae Thornton of Tallapoosa, Ga.

She was a native of Moore County and a homemaker.

He was a native of Robbins, a potter and a lab technician with Standard Mineral Co.

He was a native of Patrick County, Va., and retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill, Randleman.

HIGH POINT - Ronald E. "Ron" Hunt, 71, of 1601 Ternberry Road, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2002, in a plane accident.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. John L. Petry III officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
He was a native of Parkersburg, W.Va., chairman of the board of the Senior Enrichment Center of his church and a volunteer with "Meals on Wheels." He was a U.S. Navy veteran, the retired owner of Ron Hunt Associates, a manufacturing representative of plumbing pipes, valves and fittings, and a member of the High Point Senior Tennis League. He had a private pilot's license and worked at both the Asheboro Municipal Airport and the Siler City Airport.
Surviving are wife, Donna Sherman Hunt of the home; daughters, Dayle-Ann Hunt of New York, N.Y., Rhonda Jean Hunt of Greensboro; son, Daniel S. Hunt of Charlotte; one granddaughter.
