He was a native of Lee Center, Ill., a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne, a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren and the retired owner/operator of Huff General Contractors.
Surviving are wife, Barbara McGowan Huff of the home; sons, Clinton Wayne Huff, Bobby Lee Huff and Raymond Eugene Huff, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Susie Huff, Teresa Huff, Christina Huff, Melody "Missy" Huff and Ryan Huff, all of the home; sister, Nancy Ammons of Asheboro.

He was a native of Jersey County, Ill., employed with Asheboro Mold & Design, was a member of Asheboro Lions Club, active with Meals on Wheels and was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

The Rev. Ulmer Norman Freeman, 82, of 925 Greystone Road, died Friday, July 3, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sawyersville Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Darrell Rabon, Dr. Larry N. Freeman and District Superintendent the Rev. Leon Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a native of Wayne County, Miss., educated in the Clara, Miss. school system, God's Bible School, High Point University and Greensboro College. He became a Wesleyan minister and served churches in Lexington, Albemarle, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Asheboro and several other locations until 1981 and had been the assistant director of Foreign Missions of the Wesleyan Church, Indianapolis, Ind. He was the general evangelist of the Wesleyan Church.
Surviving are wife, Alma Dunaway Freeman of the home; daughter, Charlotte F. Maness of Albemarle; son, Dr. Larry Norman Freeman of Sevierville, Tenn.; brother, Melvin Freeman of Clara, Miss.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
