He was an Alamance County native and was employed by Sara Lee.
Surviving are daughters, Rachel Lynn Welch of Cordova and Donna Welch Earnhardt of Concord; brother, William H. Welch of Asheboro; sisters, Nancy Welch Dickens of Panama City, Fla., Ann Welch Smith of Snow Camp; two grandchildren.

NEW BERN - Philip Everett Brown, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Craven Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service was 2 p.m. Monday at Garber United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Powell Osteen officiating.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of ECU. He worked for GMAC and then served as president of Tryon Chevrolet for 15 years.
Surviving are wife, Mary Phillips Brown of the home; daughters, Judy Elizabeth "Beth" Nicely of Asheboro, Janet Amerson of New Bern, Allison Byrd of Holly Springs; four grandchildren.

She was a native of Youngstown, Ohio, the widow of Edwin F. Moore and former owner/operator of Sea Change Antique Shop, Surfside Beach, S.C.

He was a native of Randleman, employed by Randleman Lumber Company and attended St. Peters United Methodist Church, where he served on the usher board. He was a member of the United Methodist Men.
