SILER CITY - Lucy Birteene Foust Wrenn, 84, of Flint Ridge Road, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Pittsboro Christian Village.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Rocky River Friends Meeting, where she was a member, with the Rev. David Hobson and the Rev. Cafer Marley officiating. Burial will follow in the meetinghouse cemetery.
She was a Guilford County native and had worked for A.J. Schneierson and Sons as a seamstress until she retired. She was the widow of Delbert Wrenn Sr.
Surviving are son, Delbert Wrenn Jr. of Siler City; daughter, Etta Florence Winslow of Belvedere, N.C.; sisters, Annie Margaret Shoffner of Julian and Ernestine Forney of Laredo, Texas; brother, Clifford Foust of Julian; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren.

Betty R. Elder
SILER CITY - Betty Sue Rector Elder, 75, of 198 Pine Forest Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Siler City, where she was a member, with the Rev. Joe Casteel officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park.
She was a native of Union County, S.C., and the widow of Thomas S. Elder Sr. She and her late husband were founders of Elder Printing Company. She was a lifetime golfer and member of Siler City Country Club and Blowing Rock Country Club.
Surviving are daughter, Diane E. Johnson of Siler City; son, Thomas S. Elder Jr. of Greensboro; sister, Mary Steele of Mt. Airy; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Monday; other times at the home.

Warren A. Rushing
BISCOE - Warren Aubrey Rushing, 81, of Candor-Troy Road, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Military graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Daniel Rushing and the Rev. Robert Hittepole officiating.
He was a Union County native and a veteran of World War II, having served in the 12th and the 495th Armored Divisions under General George Patton. He was the recipient of two Bronze Stars.
Surviving are wife Ruth Dickens Rushing of the home; daughter, Ann Rushing Morgan of Biscoe; sons Stephen Aubrey Rushing of Troy and Phillip James Rushing of Candor; sisters, Gladys Smith of Aberdeen, Hattie Myrick of Windblow, Alice Conrad of Greensboro and Julia Carricker of Ellerbe; brother, Earl Rushing of Rockingham; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home, Candor, 6-8 p.m. Monday.

EAGLE SPRINGS - Annie Morgan Sanders, 87, of 523 Etta Bell Road, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Browns Chapel Christian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She was a Moore County native and a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, Frank Sanders of Pinebluff, Winford "Boots" Sanders and Harold Sanders, both of Eagle Springs; daughter, Shirley Garner of Eagle Springs; sister, Maggie Wicker of Robbins; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Reba M. Smith
WINSTON-SALEM - Reba Dew McNeil Smith, 81, died Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Forrest Feezor Auditorium at Brookridge Retirement Community, Winston-Salem.
She was a native of Wilkesboro and the widow of Eli B. Smith. She attended Mars Hill Junior College, Appalachian State University and received her B.S. degree from Furman University. She did graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and was a high school home economics, biology and chemistry teacher for 33 years.
Surviving are daughter, Adrienne Kendall of Louisville, Ky.; son, Mendall Smith of Lincolnton, N.C.; sister, Marie Hendrix of Murphy, N.C.; brothers, Hoke McNeil and Hoyle McNeil, both of Wilkesboro; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service.

ASHEBORO - Frances Darlene McLean Glover, 38, of 224 Coleridge Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greens-boro.

ASHEBORO - Alan Jay Saxe, 44, of 363 Lambert Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

He was a native of Miami, Fla., a retired employee of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and of the Jewish faith.

RAMSEUR - Elijah B. "Rusty" Morris, 78, of 112 Spring Grove Drive, Mooresville, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Hunters-ville Oaks Nursing Home, Huntersville.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Christian Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Alvin Keener and the Rev. Morris Sellars officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a self-employed auto mechanic and a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are wife, Pauline Brady Morris of Mooresville; son, David Morris of Trenton, N.J.; daughters, Beverly Davis of Mooresville, Mary Patterson of Raleigh; sister, Martha Keener of Smithfield; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

LIBERTY - Eugene "Gene" H. Hester, 39, of 250 Pickett Circle, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, with the Rev. Jim Scherer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County and a graduate of Eastern Randolph High School and N.C. State University.
