RANDLEMAN - Vera Etta Yow Small, 97, of 4957 Old Walker Mill Road, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Westwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, Archdale.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Henry M. Small and a homemaker. She was a member of Old Union United Methodist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class and a member of the Randleman Senior Citizens Group.
Surviving are daughters, Hazel Lamb of Randleman, Helen Hutchins of Trinity; sons, Earl Small, L.J. Small, Paul Small, all of Randleman; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Hazel Lamb, 4957 Old Walker Mill Road, Randleman.

FRANKLINVILLE - Leona Mae Coward Smith, 91, of Albert Martin Road, died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Rehobeth United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Dowling officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Wrenn Smith, a homemaker and a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church.
Surviving are sisters, Lena C. Martin of Franklinville, Lizzie C. York of Ramseur, Blanche C. Cox of Camden, S.C.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Lizzie C. York, 5587 Old Siler City Road, Ramseur.

RAMSEUR - Bobby "Bean" Brooks of 5454 McQueen Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003.
Funeral service will be noon Saturday at Margaret's Chapel Church, Staley. Burial will be in Oakland-McCrary Cemetery, Ramseur.
Surviving are wife, Lena Cheek Brooks of the home; sons, Clyde Isley of Siler City, Kenneth Brooks of Ramseur, Quincy Brooks of Asheboro; daughters, Ella B. Thompson of Greensboro, Celia Brooks of Ramseur, Barbie Patterson of Asheboro; sisters, Frances Bowden, Delphine Siler, Roberta Nettles, Gracie Garner, Rosie Jane Harris; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

WINSTON-SALEM - Milton Turner Garwood, 59, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Silas Creek Chapel, with the Rev. Mark Taylor Grant, Brett Sharp and Michael Garwood officiating. Burial will be in Waughtown Cemetery.
He was of the Moravian faith and a graduate of Griffith High School.
Surviving are son, Michael Turner Garwood of Lexington; daughters, Barbara Michele Grant of Nashotah, Wis., Angela Marie Sharp of Gary, Ind.; sister, Barbara Garwood of Charlotte; brother, Larry Garwood of Asheboro; five grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 Friday.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at McCallum Cemetery.

She was a native of Montgomery County.

She was a native of Montgomery County.

ASHEBORO - Harvey Edward Ray, 61, of 2928 Broad Oak St., Asheboro, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at his home.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Whites Memorial Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
He was a native of Berrin County, Ga., and retired from building construction.
Surviving are wife, Alease Craven Ray of the home; son, Timothy Ray of Asheboro; daughters, Lisa Saunders of Franklinville, Denise Ray Zavaleta of Charlotte; brother, Alton Ray of Zephyrhills, Fla.; sister, Louise Wetherington of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren.

BENNETT - Robert "Ford" Robinson, 81, of 6688 Flat Creek Road, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2003, at his home.

He was a native of Mecklenburg County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired loom fixer at Miliken in Robbins.

She was a native of Lawrence County, Tenn., and a retired registered nurse with Dr. Charles Stout after 35 years.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Belle Hinshaw, a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a retired police officer with the Liberty Police Department after 30 years.
Surviving are sister, Topsy Smith of Randleman; stepson, Cecil Miller of Winston-Salem; one grandson; three stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren.
