LEXINGTON - Barbara Hodgin McCollum Cloer, 55, of 440 Island View Drive, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2003, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Denton Wesleyan Church, Denton, where she was a member, with the Rev. Charles Moses officiating. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Providence Friends Meeting cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and a day-care food supervisor at Davidson County Community College.

Surviving are daughter, Jeanie McCollum Holder of Beaufort; son, Joey V. McCollum of Denton; brothers, Mark Hodgin of Virginia Beach, Va., Drew Hodgin of Pleasant Garden; sisters, Carolyn Stone of Pleasant Garden, Marilyn Parris of Franklinville; two granddaughters.

The family will be at the home of Marilyn Parris, 3159 Mack Lineberry Road, Franklinville.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of arrangements.

Jean R. Davis
ASHEBORO - Jean Robbins Davis, 81, of Asheboro, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She was a native of Fowler, Kan., a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are sons, Richard L. Nugent of Norwood, Ronald G. Nugent of Kernersville; daughter, Cheryl Hurtado of Hemet, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

Ralph R. Ratledge
ASHEBORO - Ralph Robert Ratledge, 87, of 1539 Shady Drive, Asheboro, died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Wed-nesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Lenoir City, Tenn., a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Balfour Baptist Church. He was a former produce manager with Food Lion and Harris-Teeter, a retired worker from Harris Hayes IGA, a Mason and a member of Balfour Lodge No. 188 AF & AM.

Surviving is wife, Helen Vaughn Ratledge of the home.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Balfour Lodge No. 188 AF & AM, 632 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, N.C. 27203.

Joel W. Hall
RANDLEMAN - Joel Welbert Hall, 74, formerly of Mayodan, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at 507 Rockett Road.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home, Madison. Burial will be in Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.

He was a native of Stokes County, the widower of Doris Kallam Hall and a retired employee of Macfield Inc. He had attended Full Gospel Church in Reidsville.

Surviving are wife, Maggie Blanchard Hall of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Hall and Carol of the home; sister, Leela Patterson of Danbury; stepdaughter, Margaret Dula of Randleman; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Patty J. Tippett
FRANKLINVILLE - Patty Jean Tippett, 74, of SunBridge Health & Rehabilitation, High Point, formerly of Franklinville, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Franklinville United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Bob Dowling officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County and a member of Franklinville United Methodist Church.

Surviving is sister, Betty Allred of Raleigh.

Memorials may be made to Franklinville United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 212, Franklinville, N.C. 27248.

Troy A. Farlow
LIBERTY - Troy Alfred Farlow, 51, of 1490 Sandy Ridge Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 16, 2003, at his home.

Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joseph L. Farlow Jr. officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Energizer Plant #2 and a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are wife, Susan C. Farlow of the home; son, Jamie W. Farlow of Randleman; stepdaughters, Angela Burkholder and Sherri McDowell, both of Asheboro; father, Joseph L. Farlow Sr. of Randleman; sisters, Ann Richardson and Deborah F. Callicutt, both of Randleman; brother, Joseph L. Farlow Jr. of Asheboro; one grandchild; six stepgrandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 2-3 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home.

ROBBINS - Everett Colon Northcutt, 87, of 379 Hemp St. Ext., died Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Needham Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. James E. Cockram and the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County and owner and operator of Midway Used Car Sales.

Surviving are sons, Larry Northcutt, Darrell Northcutt and Charlie Northcutt, all of Robbins; daughters, Jackie N. Owens of Star, Ellen N. Kennedy of Carthage, Ida Northcutt-Garner of Biscoe, Tammy N. Buie of Robbins; sisters, Lou N. Caviness of Troy, Quanita N. Crowe of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Nova N. Bellamy of Piscataway, N.J.; 18 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

WAXHAW - Helen Frances McWhorter Mullis, 80, of Waxhaw, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

She was a native of Union County, the widow of William Harrison Mullis and a retired folder from Grace Bleachery after 20 years.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara M. Williams and Shirley M. Ghant, both of Waxhaw, Judy M. Baker of Seagrove; brother, Marion McWhorter of Waxhaw; sisters, Elizabeth Knight of Waxhaw, Joyce Griffin of Monroe; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home, Monroe, 6:30-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Faron Overton officiating.

He was a native of Montgomery County, the widower of Cora Mae Greene Dunn and a retired cabinet maker.

Surviving are daughter, Marie D. Sapp of Asheboro; brothers, George Dunn and Walter Dunn, both of Star; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Surviving are daughters, Peggy Brady of Asheboro, Gwendolyn Woodard and Teri Richardson, both of Lithonia, Ga., Cheri Young of Hopkinsville, Ky.; sons, Wayne Spinks of Asheboro, James Galbreath of Arlington, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

The family will be at Gailes Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-7:30 p.m. Friday.

SEAGROVE - Roy Odell Conner, 77, of 200 Bennett Farm Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Panther Creek Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Beane officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Yanceyville, a former employee with Lucas Brothers Chair Co. and a retired employee of Luck's Inc.

Surviving are wife, Dorothy Presnell Conner of the home; son, Ronnie James Conner of the home.

He was a native of Guilford County, a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, Charlotte, a retired district manager for Gehl Corp. and a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

Surviving are wife, Hilda B. Ferguson of Greensboro; daughter, Jackie Tanseer of Greensboro; sister, Edna Helms of Midland; brothers, Rayvon Ferguson of Midland, Aaron Ferguson of Charlotte, Merle Ferguson of Norwood; one granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
