Albert R. Rich
ASHEBORO - Albert Ransom Rich, 90, formerly of 850 Jerico Road, Asheboro, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at Westchester Manor at Providence Place, High Point.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Church of the Nazarene, where he was a member, with the Pastor Sherman Waters and the Rev. Wyatt Hoogkamp officiating.

Burial will follow in Sawyersville Wesleyan Church Cemetery, Asheboro.

He was a Randolph County native and was retired from Acme-McCrary Hosiery. He was a graduate of Farmer High School and attended John Wesley College.

Surviving are wife, Trulie Burris Rich; daughter, Ann Rich Poole of Asheboro; son, James Albert Rich of Asheboro; sister, Bertha Burris of Morehead City; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Sunday; other times at the homes of Ann and Bobby Poole, 756 Jerico Road and James and Becky Rich, 923 Friendly Circle.

Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund, 2657 Southmont Drive, Asheboro, N.C. 27205.

Edith C. Sink
ASHEBORO - Edith Cagle Sink, 83, formerly of 1307 Pepperidge Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Randolph Memorial Park with the Rev. William Christopher Thore officiating.

She was a Montgomery County native and was employed with the Randolph County Public Library. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church and the widow of O. James Sink.

Surviving are daughter, Gretna Bonkemeyer of Asheboro; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Randolph County Library, 201 Worth St., Asheboro, N.C. 27203.

James S. Ferree Jr.
CLIMAX - James Simpson Ferree Jr., 81 of Climax, N.C., and Westcliffe, Colo., died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Friends Home at Guilford, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Jack Kirk and the Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Friends Meeting Cemetery, Pleasant Garden.

He was a Randolph County native and graduated from Providence High School. He is a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and worked with his father in the heavy construction industry after service. He was the owner of Ferree Trailers and served as a Chairman of the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association Engineering Committee. He was founder of the Old Time Historical Association.

Surviving are wife, Mabel Barker Ferree of Greensboro; son, Donald Neal Ferree of Greensboro; daughter, Marsha Ellen Ferree Gering of Hillsborough; sister, Dorothy Ferree Davis of Greensboro.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of arrangements.

Nancy C. Campbell
RAMSEUR - Nancy Carol Campbell, 62, of 4336 Young Road, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with Bishop Paul Hiatt and the Rev. Jeff Maness officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Cross Christian Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and an employee with Henry James BBQ.

Surviving are sisters, Judy Cox of Ramseur, Joan Stout of Greensboro, Elizabeth Saunders of Shallotte.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Pauline H. Smith
BEAR CREEK - Pauline Hicks Smith, 87, of 18744 N.C. 902, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Darrell Garner and the Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Chatham County, a member of the Adult Sunday School class at her church, formerly employed with A.J. Schnelerson & Sons and retired from Gold Kist Hatchery.

Surviving are daughters, Omelia Beck of Siler City, Ella Dresslar of Climax, Linda Jordan of Bear Creek; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Earl L. Burris
STAR - Earl Lee Burris, 69, of 601 Dover Rd., died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, with the Rev. Phil Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery, Stanfield.

He was a Stanly County native and a member of Star House of Praise.

Memorials may be made to Union County Shrine Club, P.O. Box 324, Monroe, N.C. 28111 or the charity of one's choice.

Edna W. Williamson
BISCOE - Edna Lee Wright Williamson, 96, of 117 Hall Drive, died Friday, Feb. 21, 2003, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, with the Rev. Clay Davis officiating. A private burial will be held.

She was a native of Montgomery County.

Surviving is niece, Sherry Dixon of the home.

The family will be at the funeral home noon-1:30 p.m. Sunday.

Patty G. Hunt
DENTON - Patty Grubb Hunt, 68, of Liberty Place, Archdale, formerly of Silver Valley, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Bonnie Harris and the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She was a Davidson County native and employed with Burlington Industries, Denton Plant, for 25 years. She was a volunteer with High Point Regional Hospital and the widow of Lloyd Franklin Hunt.

Surviving are son, Anthony Lloyd Hunt of Little River, S.C.; brothers, William Evan Grubb of Lexington and Richard Grubb of Jamestown; one grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 or to a local hospice of donor's choice.

ASHEBORO - Coy Wade Auman, 75, of 2131 Burney Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro.

Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Joe Edwards officiating.

He was a native of Randolph County.

Surviving are sister, Beulah Luck of Asheboro; brother, Grady Auman Sr. of Asheboro.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the graveside service, other times at the home of Myrtle Auman, 2131 Burney Road, Asheboro.

Sharon B. Causey
ASHEBORO - Sharon Lynn Burns Causey, 43, of 1299 Jerico Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ray Swaney officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Shepherd Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County, a member of the Home School Association and a member of High Rock Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Trinity High School where she was a member of the Beta Club and listed among Who's Who in American High Schools and Colleges. She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Nursing degree on the Dean's List and worked in home health care with the Davidson County Health Department and with Hospice.

Surviving are husband, Timmy D. Causey of the home; sons, Brandon Tim Causey, Patrick Michael Causey, both of the home; mother, Rachel Virginia Burns of Asheboro; brother, Frank Milton Burns of Denton.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Memorials may be made to High Rock Baptist Church, 1047 Bescher Chapel Road, Trinity, N.C. 27370.

Kaye D. Edwards
ASHEBORO - Kaye Darlene Collett Edwards, 43, of 4191 Zoo Parkway, Asheboro, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be held at a later day in Lancaster, Ky.

She was a native of Lexington, Ky., a homemaker and formerly employed with Carauster.

Surviving are husband, Don Edwards of Asheboro; sons, John A. Hockensmith of Lancaster, Ky., Don Edwards Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughters, Donna Hall, Diana Lapp, Dena Barger, all of Cincinnati, Ohio; 16 grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Frances B. Cox
RAMSEUR - Frances Burgess Cox, 80, of 6448 Buffalo Ford Road, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Gary Arnett and the Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Ramseur Inter-lock Knitting and the organist at her church.

Surviving are husband, Clayton B. Cox of the home; son, Samuel Cox of Clemmons; daughter, Cathy C. Bailey of Winston Salem; brothers, Frank Burgess, Bruce Burgess, both of Ramseur; sisters, Billie B. Siler of Greensboro, Erma B. Smith, Ann B. Harris, both of Ramseur; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Monday, other times at the home.

Rosie H. DeFillipo
RANDLEMAN - Rosie Harvell DeFillipo, 86, formerly of Climax, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Providence Friends Meeting, where she was a member, with the Rev. Charles R. Adams officiating. Burial will be in the meeting cemetery.

She was a native of Climax, worked as a maid with the Hilton Hotel of New York City and an ordained Baptist minister.

Surviving are brother, Eugene Harvell of Climax; sisters, Mable Allred of Randleman, Iona McDowell of Beulahville.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, 6-7:30 p.m. Monday.

Thurman Hunt
RANDLEMAN - Thurman "Dick" Hunt, 63, of 6384 Georgia Drive, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Level Cross Baptist Church. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

He attended Level Cross Baptist Church.

Surviving are wife, Linda F. Hunt of the home, daughters, Charlene Lanning of Greensboro, Teresa Lynn Michael of Randleman, Vivian Marie King of Tennessee, Diane Michael, Tracy Hatfield, Melinda H. Soriano, all of Randleman; sisters, Minnie Lee Jones, Ella Mae Hunt, Liza Good, Rosalie Hunt, all of Robeson County; brothers, Oliver Hunt, Grady Hunt, both of Robeson County; 13 grandchildren.

The family will be at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, Vanstory Street, Greensboro, 7-9 p.m. Monday.
