King of the home; daughters, Debbie Cunningham of Eddyville, Ky., Donna Dellinger of Lincolnton; brother, Bill Christopher of Lincolnton, sisters, Carol Branning, Frances Pugh and Juanita Caldwell, all of Lincolnton, Martha McNeil of New London and Beaulah Carringer of Maiden; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
The family will be at the funeral home 4-5 p.m. prior to the service; other times at the home of daughter Donna Dellinger, 261 Trey Trail, Lincolnton.

BENNETT - Donald Lee Branson, 67, of 451 Lee St., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, with the Rev. Tim Strider officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Baptist Church cemetery.
He was a former employee of Guilford Mills and Ben Owens Pottery.
Surviving are sister, Mary Hernandez of Merced, Calif.; brother, Willie Branson of Oakdale, Calif.

DANVILLE, Va. - Flossie Strider Ruppe, 90, of Clapp's Convalescent Home, Asheboro, formerly of 620 Claiborne St., Danville, Va., died Friday, Feb. 28, 2003, at Clapp's.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wrenn-Yeatts Funeral Home, Danville, Va., with the Rev. Thomas Brown officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park.
She was a native of High Point, the widow of Blanton Ruppe, a retired spinning room employee of Dan River Mills after 45 years and a member of Keen Street Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Club.
Surviving are brothers, Paul Strider of Cedar Falls, Charles Edward "Dickie" Strider of Rockingham; sister, Gladys S. Hobbs of Randleman.
The family will be at the funeral home 6:30-8 p.m. Sunday.

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Juanita Anne Mahon Ayers, 77, of 3505 E. North St., died Saturday, March 1, 2003.

She was a native of Greenville, S.C., the widow of Terrell P. Ayers Sr., retired from the Greenville County Library and a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughter, Cheryl Black of Asheboro; sons, Terrell "Sonny" Ayers Jr. and Edward Dee Ayers, both of Greenville, S.C.; sister, Jimmie Skinner of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was a Guilford County native and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Surviving are son, Robert Miller of Liberty; sisters, Ruth Garner and Becky Canoy; brothers, Jesse Wilson and Son Wilson, two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

SILER CITY - Mattie Elizabeth Mote Johnston, 88, of 223 S. Third Ave., died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Chatham Hospital Inc., Siler City.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Siler City Church of God, where she was a member, with the Rev. Neal Kight officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was a Bladen County native and was retired from Hadley-Peoples Manufacturing Co. She was the widow of Roney K. Johnston.
Surviving are daughters, Annie Mae Turner and Christine Rogers, both of Siler City; sons, Richard Johnston of Asheboro and Kelly Johnston of White Lake; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren.

Juel P. Rainey
LENOIR - Juel Barlow Pipes Rainey, 83, of Cedar Crest Drive, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Lenoir, where she was a member, with the Dr. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
She was a native of Lenoir, a graduate of Lenoir High School, attended Appalachian State University, was a teacher in the Caldwell County Schools, secretary/vice president of Prestwood Hardware and on the board of directors for Sheltered Home of Caldwell County. She was a worthy matron of the Eastern Star in the Hibriten chapter, president of Cedar Rock Ladies Association, president of Blue Ridge Ladies Association and served on numerous committees of the Ladies Golf Association and Lenoir Golf Club. She was the widow of Victor D. Pipes and Ted Rainey.
Surviving are sons, William Russell Pipes of Asheboro, Victor David Pipes of Boone and Charles E. McLean of Hickory; sisters, Olene Prestwood of Lenoir and Scottie Sue Huffman of Hickory; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Pendry's Funeral Home, Lenoir, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

GREENSBORO - William "Bill" Alfred Reynolds Sr., 73, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, where he was a member. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a 1947 graduate of Greensboro Senior High School and attended Campbell College, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Guilford College. He was a former violinist with the Greensboro Symphony, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War era, a salesman and later manager with Gate City Auto Parts and a choir member at his church.
Surviving are wife, Peggy Sutton Reynolds; son, William A. Reynolds Jr. of the home; daughters, Paula R. Owens of Summerfield, Laurie R. Wyatt of Greensboro; four grandchildren.

He was a native of Rome, Ga., the widower of Virginia Maxine Mauldin, a business owner and a retired First Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force after 21 years of service.
Surviving are son, Aaron Dean Smith of Concord; daughters, Tammie S. Cook of Douglasville, Ga., Charlotte S. Mendoza of Window Rock, Ariz., Katherine M. Smith of Stanley; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
