ASHEBORO - Robert "Bob" Lawrence Grose, 50, of 412 Parkside Drive, Asheboro, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Randolph Memorial Park with the Rev. Steve Cox officiating.
He was a Randolph County native, was employed with Ramtex, Inc. in Ramseur for 30 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Franklinville. He was a graduate of Davidson Community College and had received a B.A. in History from North Carolina State University and had received a B.S. in Computer Programming from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Surviving are brother, Mark Grose of Franklinville; sister, Myra Long of Ramseur, mother, Alma Grose of Asheboro.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Saturday; other times at the home of his mother, 161 Old Spruce Drive, Asheboro.

ASHEBORO - Alfred Clark Wallace, 88, of 842, S. Cox St., Asheboro, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Dr. John S. Rogers and the Rev. David Schwartz officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a Montgomery County native and was a World War II veteran of the Merchant Marines. He was retired from Automatic Vending Service and was a long-time member of the Ash-Rand Rescue Squad.
Surviving are wife, Irene Stuart Wallace; daughter, Carol Wallace Schneider of Atlanta, Ga.; sons, Norman Clark Wallace of San Francisco, Calif., Ralph Neal Wallace of Conway, S.C., and David Alan Wallace of Greensboro; brothers, James Wallace and Grady Wallace, both of Troy; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Saturday.

ASHEBORO - Jesse Paul York, 71, of 1435 Tabernacle Church Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Rodney Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in Pierce's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was a Randolph County native and a U.S Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a self-employed brick mason and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are Uavah Kindley York; sister, Linda Wilson of Ramseur.

RANDLEMAN - Essie Lamb Frazier, 91, of 200 S. Stout St., died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Henry Hughes and the Rev. J.C. Miles officiating. Burial will follow in Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church Cemetery.
She was a Randolph County native and was retired from Nixon Reynolds Hosiery Mill. She was of the Methodist faith and the widow of Gordon C. Frazier.
Surviving are daughters, Viola Cox Presnell of Randleman and Doris Frazier Hill of Denton; son, Leon Frazier of Randleman; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Jason Dean Ledford, 28, of 103 Victorian Court, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Forest Park Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a Mecklenburg County native and employed with Van York Buick.
Surviving are wife, LeAnn Robbins Ledford, of the home; parents, Roy Dean and Jolene McKinney Ledford, of Randleman; brother, Justin Ledford of Randleman; grandmothers, Ellie Ledford of Spruce Pines and Mattie Silvers of Marion.

She was a Randolph County native and a homemaker. She was a member of the Ladies Missionary Society at her church.

Roy L. Marley
SILER CITY - Roy Lee Marley, 83, of 705 E. Raleigh St., died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Chatham Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Joe Casteel and the Rev. Travis Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Chatham Memorial Park.
He was a Chatham County native. He had served as Superintendent of Sunday School, was treasurer of the First United Methodist Men and served on several administrative boards. He was a life-time member of the Lions Club, a sales manager for several auto dealerships and was retired from Budd Tire Company. He was on the mural committee for the town of Siler City.
Surviving are wife, Perry C. Marley of Siler City; sons, Roy L. Marley Jr. of Baton Rouge, La. and Denny Marley of Siler City; brother, Curtis Marley of Siler City; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

BEAUFORT, S.C. - Thomas Jefferson Brabham, formerly of Columbia, S.C., died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Morningside of Beaufort.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Dunbar Funeral Home, Columbia, S.C. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Cross Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Cross Hill, S.C.
He was a native of Olar, S.C., and the widower of Margaret Workman Brabham. He was employed by the S.C. Department of Mental Health and Spartan Petroleum prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Men's Bible Class at Main Street United Methodist Church prior to his relocation to relocation to Beaufort in 1997.
Surviving are daughter, M.B. "Peggy" Hitchcock of Beaufort; son, R.T. "Dick" Brabham of Roanoke Rapids; two grandsons.
The family will be at the funeral home 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.

He was of the Christian faith and the widower of Bernice Thompson Hill.

ASHEBORO - Mae R. Carpenter, 91, formerly of Walnut Cove, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Burroughs Funeral Home, Walnut Cove, with the Rev. Ricky Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in Stokesburg UMC Cemetery.
She was a member of Stokesburg United Methodist Church in Walnut Cove. She and her husband operated Ray's Drug Store in Walnut Cove for a number of years.
Surviving are sister, Frances Moore of Asheboro; brother, Vernon Herbert Richardson of Summerfield.

BEAR CREEK - Sue Jones Wilson, 85, of 2500 N.C. 902, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Tara Plantation in Carthage.

She was the widow of Walter A. Wilson and a Chatham County native. She worked at Southern Supreme and was a member of the U.S.F.W. at her church.
Surviving are sons, Jimmie Wilson and Jerry Wilson, both of Bear Creek; daughters, Cindy Dixon and Lisa Scott, both of Bear Creek; brother, Wilbert Jones of Bennett; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
