SEAGROVE - James Harvey Davis, 82, of 783 N.C. 705, died Monday, March 24, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Inman officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a Randolph County native and was retired from Luck's.
Surviving are wife, Mae Auman Davis of the home; son, J. Darrell Davis and Roy L. Davis, both of Seagrove; sisters, Virginia Auman and Bertie Cole, both of Seagrove, Dorthine Brown and Peggy Inman, both of Randleman, Evona Coble of Franklinville, Sue Hackett of Conway, S.C.; brothers, Edgar Davis of Randleman and R.J. Davis of Climax, one granddaughter; one stepgrandson; one great-grandson.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday; other times at the home.

STAR - William Gaston "Bill" Cagle, 88, of 1221 Ether Road, died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Grove Christian Church, with the Rev. Tim Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of Montgomery County, the widower of Edna Hare Cagle, a retired farmer and a member of Ether United Methodist Church.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Sally C. Britt and Randy Britt of the home; son, Everette Cagle of Star; sisters, Mary C. Meyer of Norfolk, Va., Margaret C. Williams of Asheboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren

TROY - Versie Atkins Hamilton, 88, of 911 Ophir Ave., died Sunday, March 23, 2003, at Autumn Care of Biscoe.

TROY - Derrel Lamar Horne, 3, of 198 Fairground Ave., died Friday, March 21, 2003, at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Stephen's United Church of God, Troy. Burial will follow in Freeman Hill Cemetery.
He was a Stanly County native.
Surviving are his parents, Tonya Horne of the home and Barry Linder of Troy; sister, Denesha Foust of the home; grandmothers, Dora Lee Horne and Cora Linder, both of Troy.
The family will receive friends at the church 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.

MT. GILEAD - Hubert "Peg" Bowden, 64, of 114 Shady Ben Drive, died Friday, March 21, 2003, in Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle.

He was a Richmond County native and formerly employed with Taylor Mobile Homes and McRae Shoe Factory.

Little of Biscoe; sisters, Hulia Mae Baldwin of Mt. Gilead and Doretha Armstrong of Jackson Springs; brothers, Marvin Bowden of Ellerbe and Grover Bowden of Rockingham; seven stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren.

RALEIGH - David "W.D." Miller, 73, of 2453 Stevens Road, died Sunday, March 23, 2003.

He was a native of Pittsboro and part owner of Plumb-Rite Plumbing Specialties, Inc. He was a native of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division having served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are wife, Rachel Mason Miller of Raleigh; sons, Dale Miller of Chicago, Ill., and Benjamin David Miller of Madison, Fla.; sisters, Opal Hicks of Durham and Viola Langley of Sanford; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Eddie J. Morris
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Eddie J. Morris, 78, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at a local hospital.
A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Thalia United Methodist Church, where he was a member.
He was a native of Denton, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a retired U.S. Navy Master Chief Hospital Corpsman after 31 years at the Amphibious Base, Little Creek and a Purple Heart recipient. He was a retired management analyst from Portsmouth Naval Hospital after 12 years, and a member of the Methodist Men and a co-chair for his church's food pantry. He served on the Civilian Advisory Committee of the 4th Police Precinct, volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and was a past president of the former Dixie Square Dance Club.
Surviving are wife, Marian Cross Morris; son, Craig E. Morris; sisters, Ruth Steed of Denton, Sylvia Ward of Asheboro; one granddaughter.

ASHEBORO - Kenneth Wayne Jordan, 69, of 1651 Arrowwood Road, died Tuesday, March, 25, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. R. Larry Emerson, Vicar, officiating.
He was a Guilford County native, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the First E&R United Church of Christ. He started the Physical Therapy Departments at Randolph Hospital and the Randolph County Health Department and had been in private practice since 1986.
Surviving are wife, Marlene Meier Jordan; daughter, Sharon Womick of Asheboro; son, Mark Jordan of Asheboro; sister, Linda Trogdon, Franklinville; brother, John Jordan of Randleman; two granddaughters.
