PFAFFTOWN - Lester Claude Boger, 88, formerly of Ramseur, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, Winston-Salem, with Dr. Craig Bowman officiating. Burial will be in Doubs Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was native of Forsyth County, the widower of Margaret Doub Boger, a member of Jordan Memorial Methodist Church, Ramseur, where he was a member of the church choir and a Sunday School teacher. He was later a member of Pfafftown Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.
Surviving are wife, Lara Kreeger Boger of the home; sister, Irene Conrad.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Janet H. Cook, 5016 Warner Road, Pfafftown.
John E. Glasgow
RALEIGH - John E. Glasgow, 88, formerly of Aberdeen, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Rex Hospital, Raleigh.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ray Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors.
He was a native of Logan, Ky., the widow of Macel Dunlap Glasgow, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired residential carpenter.
Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Bishop of Raleigh, Betty Moody of Athens, Ga.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The family will be at the church following the service.

SOUTHPORT - Jeffery Tobias "Jeff" Shaw, 40, of 122 Stuart Ave., died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service was 3 p.m. Wednesday at Southport Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Wayne Adkisson officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington.
He was a native of Chatham County, an employee of CP&L, a member of the National Rifle Association and Ye Old Gun Club and an usher, member of the Baptist Men and a Sunday School teacher at his church.
Surviving are wife, Terry Shaw of the home; daughter, Traci S. Clemmons of Southport; sons, Aaron T. Shaw, Jesse Ellis Shaw, both of Southport; brothers, Timothy Eugene Shaw of Sanford, Tony Randall Shaw, Quinten Adam Shaw, both of Bear Creek; one grandson.

HONEA PATH, S.C. - T.L. "Buck" Meeks, 79, of 515 Sherwood Ave., died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at his home.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Fran Elrod, the Rev. Joe Pridgen and the Rev. Jim Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery.
She was a native of Anderson, S.C., the widower of Grace Beasley Meeks, a retired employee of J.R.A. Industries in Asheboro and a World War II U.S Navy veteran. He was a 1948 graduate of Clemson Agricultural College and a member of the Hogansville Masonic Lodge, Hogansville, Ga.
Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Taylor and Marie Meeks, both of Honea Path, S.C.; sisters, Barbara Cox of Belton, S.C., Ann Laura Cobb of Rock Hill, S.C.

ASHEBORO - Harvey Lloyd Kearns, 69, of 804 Mack Road, Asheboro, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at West Bend UMC Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Purdy officiating.
He was a Randolph County native and a retired textile worker. He attended Farmer School, was of the Methodist faith and was a member and past president of the Piedmont Horsemen Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War.
Surviving are daughters, Amy Kearns of Asheboro, Felicia Hayes of Seagrove; sister, Barbara Kearns Swicegood of Asheboro; two grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Milford Anderson Smith, 83, of Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Dr. Ron Hamilton officiating.
He was a Randolph County native.
Surviving are sisters, Helen Sharpe and Margaret Dorsett, both of Asheboro; brothers, Ollie Smith and Jesse Smith, both of Asheboro.

Harry E. Winn
ASHEBORO - Harry Edward Winn, 76, of Asheboro, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.
He was a native of Elmhurst, Ill., and retired from International Harvester after 35 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps having served during World War II.
Surviving are wife, Marcelle M. Winn of the home; daughters, Adrienne Boutwell of Randleman, Catherine A. LaGro of Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; son, Jeffery Winn of Poplar Grove, Ill.; sisters, Irene Gartner of Reseda, Calif., and Martha Konicki of Alhambra, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

RAMSEUR - Paul Chisholm Bray, 80, of 1461 N.C. 22 South, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Klopman Mills and a U.S. Navy veteran.

She was a native of Surry County, an electronic assembler and a member of Staley Baptist Church.

HIGH POINT - Lucy Staples Hampton, 89, of 1913 S. Elm St., died Friday, March 28, 2003, at GrayBrier Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Davis Funerals and Cremations, High Point, with the Rev. Stanley Savage and the Rev. Tom Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in Clearview Baptist Church Cemetery in Mayodan.
She was a native of Patrick County, Va., and the supervisor of Triad Manor Rest Home for many years. She was a member of Women of the Moose and the Eastern Star and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are sisters, Sally Sink of Linwood and Ruth Carter of Kernersville; brother, J.P. Staples of High Point.

Gladys E. Russell
DENTON - Gladys Elliott Russell, 89, of North Main Street, died Friday, March 28, 2003, at Lexington Health Care.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Siloam United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Sandy Young and the Rev. James T. Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Denton Town Cemetery.
She was a Davidson County native, the widow of Rose Russell and a retired sales clerk with M.A. Pickett Department Store. She served as treasurer at her church for 40 years and had also been a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Church Council. She was a member of the Young at Heart Club, The Good Times Club and the Rhythm Band.
Surviving are son, Ivey E. Russell; sisters, Versa Garner of Thomasville and Ethel Taylor of Denton; two grandchildren.
The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Ruby M. Hanlon
STAR - Ruby Morris Hanlon, 92, of 225 Harper St., died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Asheboro Health and Rehabilitation.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church of Star, where she was a life member, with the Rev. James Cagle officiating. Burial will follow in Leach Cemetery, Star.
She was a Montgomery County native and the widow of Perry O. Hanlon. She retired in 1979 from the Town of Star where she worked as the town clerk for over 21 years. She was a member of the Star Chapter 111 Order of the Eastern Star and the Halycon Woman's Club.
Surviving are son, Carl E. Hanlon of Winston-Salem; sister, Nellie M. Williamson of Star; stepdaughters, Celestine H. Dodge of Petoskey, Mich., and Nancy H. Cook of Beaufort, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren.

She was a Montgomery County native and retired from Russell Hosiery Mills where she worked for 27 years.
Surviving are son, Cecil Greene of Biscoe; sisters, Mary O'Quinn of Biscoe, Lula Dunlap of Robbins; brothers, Jesse McCaskill, Paul McCaskill and Joel McCaskill, all of Biscoe; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
