Earl William Farlow, 78, of 1027 Green Farm Road, Asheboro, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Mountain View Independent Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Austin Frye, the Rev. Henry H. Thompson and the Rev. Daryl Frye officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, the widower of Edna Callicutt Farlow and was retired from Dixie Furniture.

Surviving are daughters, Lela Trotter, Judy Johnson, Annie Sue Dickens, all of Asheboro; son, William Daryl Farlow of Asheboro; sister, Mary Etta Trotter of Asheboro; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Eva L. Gunter

Eva Mae Ledwell Gunter, 91, of 1223 Union Church Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Union United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Jean Nall and the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County and the widow of Walter Gunter.

Surviving are daughters, Shelby Hunt of Asheboro, Nancy Routh of Raleigh; sons, Duane Gunter of Thomasville, David Gunter of Asheboro; sisters, Colean Stout, Kathleen Osborne, both of Asheboro; brother, Bernard Ledwell of Eden; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

Brenda A. Gray

Brenda Ann Gray, 29, of 1198 Thoroughbred Road, Asheboro, died Friday, July 24, 1998.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Holt's Chapel Cemetery, Greensboro.

She was employed with Klaussner Furniture Industries and was previously employed with Mountainview Nursing Home.

Surviving are mother, Ruth Liner Chaney of Asheboro; stepfather, Ronald Chaney of Asheboro; brothers, Matthew Gray, Timmy Gray, both of Asheboro; sister, Patty Hinkle of Asheboro; fiancˇ, Wade Turner Jr. of Asheboro.

The family will be at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, North Elm Street, Greensboro, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.

Dorothy G. Kirkman, 84, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at ManorCare Health Services, Pinehurst.

STAR - Ollie Mae Morrison Bowers, 93, formerly of Star, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at Asheboro Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Gene Davis and the Rev. Robert Dennis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, retired from Russell Hosiery Mill and was a Sunday School teacher at her church.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Albert E. Davis

CARTHAGE - Albert E. Davis of 312 Kester Road, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at his home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at New Zion Cemetery, Robbins, with Dr. V.D. Dowdy officiating.

He was a native of Moore County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired restaurant chef.

Surviving are wife, Esther R. Davis; son, Lawrence Barrett of Silver Springs, Md.; sisters, the Rev. Mary Shamburger, Stella D. Caviness, Grace Davis, all of Robbins; brother, Wade Davis of Robbins; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Fry-Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, is in charge of the arrangements.

George T. Teague Jr.
George Thomas Teague Jr., 69, of 116 Sheffield St., Asheboro, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at his home.

Garry E. Breedlove

Garry Eugene Breedlove, 53, of Asheboro, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Thomas Butt and the Rev. Charles Adams officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Asheboro and employed with the Randolph County Department of Social Services.

Surviving are sister, Janice B. Spoon of Asheboro; brother, Mitchell Breedlove of Pleasant Garden.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of the sister, 508 Dublin Road.

RAMSEUR - William Bryant "Ted" Burgess, 86, of 3004 Greenbriar Drive, Sanford, formerly of Ramseur, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Central Carolina Hospital, Sanford.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Gary Moger and the Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Knoll Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a carpenter, a farmer and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and trustee.

Surviving are daughter, Jo Ann B. Brickhouse of Sanford; brother, Hugh Burgess of Ramseur; one grandson; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Glosson R. Edwards

SILER CITY - Glosson R. Edwards, 83, of 3180 Old U.S. 421, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Moon's Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Garland Foushee and the Rev. Steve Meads officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a retired truck driver for Carolina Tank Lines.

Surviving are wife, Dale Coble Edwards of Siler City; sons, Roger G. Edwards of Huntersville, Barry Edwards, Garry Edwards, both of Siler City; daughter, Sharon G. Burton of High Point; sister, Rachel E. Moon of Snow Camp; 10 grandchildren; two foster grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

DENTON - Elsie Shipton Daniel, 84, of 284 Daniel-Pierce Drive, died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Community General Hospital, Thomasville.

Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Summerville Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Mike Motley and the Rev. Graham Scott officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Davidson County and a retired employee of Denton Hosiery Mill.

Surviving are husband, C. Buren Daniel of the home; sons, David Daniel of Thomasville, the Rev. Johnny Daniel, Joe Daniel, Kenneth Daniel, all of Denton; daughters, Frances Fowler of High Point, Betty Pierce, Ruby Hulin, both of Denton; sisters, Don Rea Presley of Mt. Holly, Kathleen Lowman of Lexington; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Fannie S. Cook

DENTON - Fannie Surratt Cook, 97, of Mountain Vista Health Park, formerly of 22793 N.C. 109 South, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Community General Hospital, Thomasville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Alleghany United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Peter McGuire officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Carl Cook and had worked with Surratt Hosiery Mill for over 50 years.

Surviving are sons, Theo Cook, Glenn Cook, both of Denton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Lynn K. Hardister

DENTON - Lynn Kearns Hardister, 43, of 1783 Piedmont School Road, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Thomasville, where she was a member, with the Rev. Elton Strickland, the Rev. Chris Smith and the Rev. Jeff Lamb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County, employed 25 years with Thomasville Ob-Gyn Associates as an insurance coordinator, was a Life Member of the United Methodist Women and attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a graduate of East Davidson High School and had attended Asheboro Business College.

Surviving are husband, Randy C. Hardister of the home; sons, Matthew C. Hardister, Adam W. Hardister, Andrew T. Hardister, all of the home; parents, Edwin and Nancy Kearns of Thomasville; sisters, Sara K. Messer, Susan K. Jester, both of Thomasville.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6-9 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

TROY - Madeline Elizabeth May Allen, 87, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at her home.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, Troy, where she was a member. A private burial will be at Southside Cemetery.

She was a native of Asheville, a 1931 graduate and former trustee of Meredith College, a teacher with Montgomery County Schools, a Sunday School teacher at her church and a member of the Troy Child Study Club, Troy Mothers Club and former officer in the N.C. Federated Women's Club.

Surviving are husband, James Bruton Allen; daughter, Dr. Madeline May Allen; son; James Bruton Allen Jr.; sister, Dorthey M. Cleveland of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Susie I. Ledbetter

MT. GILEAD - Susie Ingram Ledbetter, 95, of 108 E. Ingram St., died Sunday, July 19, 1998, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sharon Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating.

She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of James H. Ledbetter, postmistress of Mt. Gilead from 1946-1968, a member of the National League of Postmasters and of Uwharrie Patriots D.A.R. of Mt. Gilead.

Surviving are son, James Ledbetter of Beaufort; daughter, Mary Ann King of Matthews; sister, Winnie I. Richter of Mt. Gilead; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

George T. Teague Jr.
George Thomas Teague Jr., 69, of 116 Sheffield St., Asheboro, died Monday, July 20, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ed Houck officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Southern Wholesale, and worked for many years at Mann's Drug Store and Rite Aid Pharmacy. He was a member of Balfour Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School teacher in the young men's department and an usher, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

Surviving are wife, Inez Leach Teague; daughter, Sue T. Moffitt of Asheboro; son, Kurt Teague of the home; sister-in-law, Vernece Willett of Bennett, who was raised by the Teagues; sister, Marie T. Stout of Ramseur.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
