Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. James A. Curry officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvery Cemetery.

He was a native of Cumberland County, a U.S. Army veteran and attended A&T State University. He was a member of the United Methodist Men of his church and the owner of C.C. Hodges Funeral Homes in Asheboro and Liberty.

Surviving are wife, Adelaide H. Hodges of the home; son, Charles C. Hodges Jr. of Seagrove; sisters, Helen Melvin, Sylvia Smith and Bernice Douglass, all of Hope Mills, Mabel Johnson of Columbia, Md., Dr. Claretta Dudley of Chicago, Ill., Barbara Pierre of Babylon, N.Y.; brothers, Carl D. Hodges of Durham, Thomas Hodges and Clarence Hodges, both of Hope Mills, Dr. James Hodges of Montclair, N.J.; three grandchildren.

The family will be at C. C. Hodges Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-7 p.m. Wednesday.

ASHEBORO - Richmond Willis Johnston, 61, of 1404 N. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Good Samaritan Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. David Reid and Ted Beane officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a native of Bladen County and formerly employed with Steel Supply & Erection Co.

Surviving are wife, Patricia Johnston of the home; sons, Richard Johnston of the home, Shane Johnston of Lexington; daughters, Julie Hopson of West Palm Beach, Fla., Belinda Johnston of Lexington, Faye Poole of Asheboro; stepdaughter, Angela Salmeron of Asheboro; stepson, Joe Brady of Level Cross; sisters, Christine Rogers and Annie Mae Turner, both of Siler City; brother, Kelly Johnston of White Lake; 11 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ASHEBORO - Larry Marue Lewallen, 66, of 324 Nolen Ave., Asheboro, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, in Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at West Bend United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt, the Rev. Billy Hunter and the Rev. Joseph Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a past chairman of the Memorial Association and a past youth leader at his church, a retired employee of Larry Walker Body Shop in High Point and a member of the Ash-Rand Rescue Squad.

Surviving are wife, Norma Hamilton Lewallen; daughter, Rhonda Jean Lewallen of Jacksonville, Fla.; sons, Terry Cheyenne Lewallen and Larry Marue "June Bug" Lewallen Jr., both of Asheboro; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ASHEBORO - Nolan Raymon Lewallen, 64, of Little River, S.C., died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a former golf professional with Asheboro Country Club, owner/operator of Lewallen Golf Center in Asheboro, retired from Azalea Sands Golf Club, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and a member of the PGA.

Surviving are sons, Rodney Lewallen of Asheboro, Rick Lewallen of Kannapolis; two grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

ASHEBORO - Glenn Mitchell Lineberry, 79, of 623 Old Liberty Road, Asheboro, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Falls Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Charles Phelps, the Rev. Dale Collingwood and the Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired employee of Burlington Industries.

Surviving are wife, Hilda Ingold Lineberry; daughter, Vivian L. Owens of Asheboro; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

TRINITY - Ernestine "Tennie" Fausnet, 55, died Sunday, March 30, 2003.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale, with Dr. Arnold R. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Holly Hill Cemetery, Thomasville.

She was a native of Guilford County, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a volunteer for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Surviving are husband, Jack Fausnet of the home; daughter, Tonya Smith of Thomasville; son, Steven Edward Fausnet of Lexington; sisters, Helen Willis of Thomasville, Joan Welsh of Sophia, Joann Jackson of Tobaccoville; brothers, Charles McDaniel of Jamestown, Bobby McDaniel of High Point, Sonny McDaniel of Hendersonville; three grandchildren.

She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker and a member of Prospect United Methodist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Joan Branson and Dorothy Louise Martinez, both of Archdale; sister, Dorothy "Dot" H. Small of Randleman; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funerals & Cremations Funeral Home, High Point, 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He was a native of Randolph County and a retired employee of Acme-McCrary Mfg.

Surviving are wife, Ollie Key Cox of the home; daughters, Faye Payne of Graham, Patricia Mitchell of Clearwater, Fla.; brother, Raymond C. Cox of Ramseur; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Guilford County and a retired employee of Acme-McCrary Hosiery.

Surviving are sons, Curtis Wayne Lineberry of Denton, J. Albert Lineberry of Winston-Salem; sister, Margaret Louise Huneycutt of Asheboro; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

GREENSBORO - Lorene Dowd Womble, 90, of 1107 Glynis Lane, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Rives Chapel Baptist Church, Siler City, where she was a member, with the Rev. Larry Soblotne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a native of Chatham County, the widow of Marvin G. Womble and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Mary Katherine Mabe of Reidsville; sisters, Helen D. Smith, Brownie D. Smith, Geneva D. Holt, all of Burlington; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Albert R. Key
ROBBINS - Albert Ray Key, 82, of Dunn, formerly of Robbins, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, in Good Hope Hospital, Erwin.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pine Rest Cemetery, Robbins, with the Rev. Wilson Harris officiating.

He was a retired employee of Carthage Fabrics.

Surviving is sister, Maggie Mae Parrish of Dunn.

There will be no visitation.

Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, is charge of arrangements.

Allene C. Moody
GREENSBORO - Allene Caveness Moody, 84, of 1015 Grayland St., died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Extended Care Center.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, North Elm Chapel, Greensboro, with the Dr. Vernon Williams and the Rev. Randall Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Deep River Baptist Church Cemetery, Coleridge.

She was a Randolph County native, the widow of Alex James Moody, a member of Parkway Baptist Church, the Fidelis Sunday School Class and a former member of Magnolia Street Baptist Church.

Surviving is son, Jim Moody of Greensboro.

Carol A. Pritchard
GREENSBORO - Carol Annette Pritchard, 49, of 1101 Richardson St., died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at her home.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Back Creek Friends Meeting Cemetery, with the Rev. Kenneth Huggins officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County, a homemaker and formerly attended Asheboro High School.

Surviving are father, Jack G. Pritchard of Bennett; sisters, Alesia P. Bunton of Liberty, Anita Pritchard of Siler City; brothers, Steve Clark Pritchard of Seagrove, Van "Dink" Pritchard of Ramseur.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, other times at the home of her father, 1729 Glover's Church Road, Bennett.

Sammy Brooks
SILER CITY - Sammy Brooks, 50, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Jordan Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Siler City.

Surviving are daughters, Sarina Pearson and Katrina Petty, both of Sanford; sisters, Delane Hanner, Pamela Brooks, Angela Brooks, all of Siler City, Lisa Brooks of Greensboro; grandmother, Katherine Lane of Siler City; foster brother, Harold Brooks of Siler City; four grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 6-7 p.m. Wednesday.

Knotts Funeral Home, Siler City, is in charge of arrangements.

ROBBINS - Tracey Robin Snow, of Newark, N.J., formerly of Robbins, died Tuesday, March 25, 2003.

Surviving are parents, Robert and Brenda Snow of Newark, N.J.; grandmother, Belle Person of Robbins; two sisters.

ROBBINS - Mamie Florence Davis, 93, of 903 Lakey Siding Road, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at her home.

Surviving are daughter, Lucille Davis Thompson of Robbins; sisters, Carstella Brower and Bettye Ingram, both of Robbins, and Acia Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Lucy York Swaim, 89, formerly of Bossong Drive, Asheboro, died Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Heritage Home of Florence, Florence, S.C.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Randolph Memorial Park, with the Rev. Barry Queen officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Joe Curtis Swaim, a member of Central United Methodist Church, a former employee of Bossong Hosiery and a seamstress.

Surviving are daughters, Jo Ellen S. Carroll of Darlington, S.C., Rebecca S. Barger of High Point; sister, Hattie Y. Staley of Ramseur; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

He was a native of Greensboro, a graduate of Ben L. Smith High School, the inventor of the Microwave Heating Pad and president of Vesture Corp. of Asheboro. He was the founder of Covenant Academy and attended Central Carolina Community Church.

Surviving are wife, Maria McNabb Hyatt; sons, Ryan Ford Hyatt and Chad Stephen Hyatt, both of the home; daughters, Natalie Dawn Hyatt and Taylor Caroline Hyatt, both of the home; parents, Ed and Betty Hyatt of Climax; brothers, Gene Hyatt of Randleman, Donnie Hyatt of Texas.
