Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Keith Brown officiating.

She was a native of Bladen County, the widow of James A. Brigman and a retired employee of Family Pharmacy and Community Drug Co. She was a volunteer of Hospice of Scotland County and a member of the order of Eastern Star.

Surviving is sister, Margaret D. Long of Asheboro.

The family will be at the church following the service.

McDougald Funeral Home & Crematorium, Laurel Hill, is in charge of arrangements.

ASHEBORO - Zettie Essie Loflin Snider, 79, of 2224 Old Farmer Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Ray Lambe officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

She was a native of Davidson County, the widow of Ed Snider, a retired employee of Stuart Furniture and a homemaker. She attended Back Creek Friends Meeting.

Surviving are son, Gary E. Snider of Asheboro; sisters, Paulene Hall of Greensboro, Bessie McDowell of Denton; two grandsons.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, other times at the home.

RANDLEMAN - Lona Edna Hudson Kennedy, 97, formerly of 3007 Elk Road, Worthville, died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Don Ashley officiating. Burial will be in Worthville Cemetery.

She was a native of Level Cross, the widow of Winfred Kennedy, a homemaker and former operator of Uncle Tiny's Place in Worthville.

Surviving are daughter, Nina Mintz Spectorman of Chapel Hill; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

SOPHIA - Arnold Ray McDowell, 40, of 1629 Old County Farm Road, died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Grove Community Church Cemetery.

He was a native of Guilford County and an upholsterer.

Surviving are fiancee, Kathy Rumbold of Sophia; son, Matthew Lee McDowell of Asheboro; mother, Evelyn Rush McDowell of Asheboro; sisters, Susan Jarrett and Kimberly Flowers, both of Sophia; brother, Bruce Wayne McDowell of Randleman.

The family will be at the funeral home, 6-8 p.m. Friday, other times at the home of Susan Jarrett, 1619 Old County Farm Road, Sophia.

PLEASANT GARDEN - Malcolm Wayne Jones, 58, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at his home.

He was a native of High Point and owner of a woodworking shop.

BENNETT - Ronnie Neal Foushee died Wednesday, April 30, 2003, at 1035 Glovers Church Road.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Cletus E. Mason and a former employee of McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft in California.

Surviving are sisters, Betty Pell, Dee Coble, Dorothy Michael, all of Asheboro, Etta Macon of Trinity, Virla Shaw of Greensboro; brothers, Frank Andrews of Asheboro, Clovis Andrews of Greensboro.

She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of Howard Maness, a retired employee of Pine Hosiery and a member of Dover Baptist Church.

Surviving is brother, Vernon Davis of Hayes, Va.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 12:30-1:30 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home of Jerry O'Brien 156 Owen St., Star.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Dewey Royal and a homemaker.

Surviving are daughter, Cindy Hodge Burrow of Wilmington; son, Edgar Royal of Pleasant Garden; stepson, Danny Royal of Pleasant Garden; mother and stepfather, Chloe and Reggie Bunting of Asheboro; sister, Linda Davis of Asheboro; brothers, Thomas W. She was a native of Maryland, a member of the Joy Givers Woman's Club and a former employee of Hedgecock Builders Supply Company of Asheboro.

Surviving are sons, Donald A. Spahr of Montgomery Village, Md., Eric P. Spahr; daughter, Jesseca E. Spahr of Vilseck, Germany; one grandson.

ROBBINS - Leon Caviness, 82, of 1563 George P. Road, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Beulah Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Curtis Barbery and the Rev. Stacy Layne officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, a former deacon and choir member at his church, a retired weaver from Milikan company and a retired farmer.

Surviving are wife, Blanche Hussey Caviness of the home; daughter, Peggy Morgan of Winston-Salem; sons, Glenn Caviness of Chadbourn, Ricky Caviness of Robbins; brother, Theron Caviness of Robbins; sister, Devonia Ritter of Robbins; six grandchildren.

RAMSEUR - Juaquin Ricardo "Chub" Allred, 64, of 4279 Little Beane Store Road, died Saturday, May 3, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

He was a native of Asheboro, a U.S. Navy veteran and served in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He was a former professional golfer, a former Asheboro City Amateur Golf champion and a self-employed painting contractor.

Surviving are wife, Linda Frazier Allred of the home; daughter, Ivy L. Allred of Raleigh; sons, Jon LaCotti of Maryland, Chris LaCotti of Pennsylvania; sister, Dolores Williams of Cary; three grandchildren.
