Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Steve Cox officiating. Burial will be in First Baptist Church of Franklinville Cemetery.
He was a native of Randolph County, a retired employee of Hancock Farm and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are son, Frankie Moon of Asheboro; daughters, Lisa M. Brewer of Staley, Kimberly Moon of Asheboro; sisters, Frances M. Kirkman of Franklinville, Peggy M. Bowman of Asheboro; two grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Lorraine and Tommy Routh, 1288 Academy St., Franklinville.

FRANKLINVILLE - Linda Dianne Jordan Trogdon, 57, of 4062 Hardin-Ellison Road, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, at her home.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Rodney Vickers officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, a 1964 graduate of Asheboro High School, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are husband, Victor E. "Vic" Trogdon of the home; son, Larry Trogdon of Franklinville; stepson, Greg Trogdon of Sanford; stepdaughter, Robin T. Newman of Murrells Inlet; brother, John Jordan of Randleman; one grandson.

STAR - Bertha Enola Miller Smith, 92, of 291 Dover Church Road, died Monday, May 5, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Dover Baptist Church, Seagrove, where she was a member, with Dr. Don Davis and Chaplain Michael Brewer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County.
Surviving are daughters, Joan Cagle and Julia Morgan, both of Seagrove, Vi Smith of Kernersville; son, Malcolm Smith of Asheboro; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

CRESTON - Vivian Moore Culbreth, 95, died Monday, April 28, 2003, at her home.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Sunday at Little Laurel United Methodist Church, Creston. Another memorial service will be 2 p.m. May 24 at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, Ramseur.
She was a native of Etowah, Tenn., the widow of the Rev. George Bernice Culbreth, a graduate of Brevard College and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and an elementary school teacher.
Surviving are daughters, Vera Star Bradburn of Riner, Va., Sarah Lee Culbreth of Berea, Ky.; son, George Dillon Culbreth of Creston; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
The family will be at Jordan Memorial, Ramseur, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service on May 24.

She was a Davidson County native, a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was the widow of Clarence Fred Davidson.
Surviving are sons, Clarence Lee Davidson of Asheboro and Larry Davidson of Randleman; daughter, Helen Faye Lucas of Liberty; brother, Zemariah Franklin Pritchard Jr. of High Point; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was a native of Randolph County and retired from J. P. Stevens of Randleman after 26 years.

He was a native of Greenville, S.C., owner and operator of Nelson's Auto Service & Tires in Robbins and Siler City and a member of Elise Lodge #555, A.F. & A.M.
Surviving are wife, Joyce Murphy Nelson; daughter, Cindy N. Lambert of Fayetteville; sons, Randy Nelson, Ricky Nelson and Keith Nelson, all of Robbins, Chad Nelson of Bennett; sister, Nita Currie of Kentwood, Mich.; 12 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; two great-grandchildren.

RANDLEMAN - Lucille Routh Ingold, 80, of 9476 U.S. 220 Business North, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Mark Wilburn and the Rev. James L. Denny officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a Randleman native and a former employee of Commonwealth Hosiery Mill and Laughlin Hosiery Mill, both in Randleman. She was the widow of Preston Ingold.
Surviving are sons, William Ingold and James Ingold, both of Randleman; daughter, Lillian McCaskill of Trinity; sisters, Marie Routh and Isabelle R. Hunt, both of Randleman, Hilda R. Underwood and Blanche R. Cox, both of Asheboro, and Ethel R. Alexander of Charlottesville, Va.; brother, Wesley Routh of Climax; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

RAMSEUR - Rufus Ray Gilliland, 85, of Foushee Road, died Thursday, May 8, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Jordan Memorial United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Knoll Cemetery.
A Chatham County native, he was retired from Coble Dairy and also from Ramtex Mfg. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in both World War II and Korea. He was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class at his church and a former member of the Church Board. He was also a member of Marietta Lodge #444, the Eastern Star Weatherly Chapter #271, the VFW and a former member of the Ramseur Lions Club.
Surviving are wife, Aileen Kivett Gilliland of the home; daughters, Crandall Ellison of Ramseur and Clara Vandiford of Glenn Allen, Va.; brothers, J.A. Gilliland of Pleasant Garden and Russell Gilliland of Bennett; sister, Della Mae Smith of Siler City; one grandson; two great-grandchildren.

He was a Randolph County native, of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of World War II having served as a cook in the U.S. Army Air-Corps. He was the owner/operator of L.M. Macon Landscaping.
Surviving are wife, Annie McDuffie Macon of the home; daughter, Barbara Hill of Winston-Salem; brothers, Spurgeon Macon and Jack Macon, both of Seagrove, and H.B. Macon of Greensboro; sisters, Beatrice Fabrizio of Courtland, N.Y., Asia Farlow and Willie Fesmeyer, both of Seagrove, and Janet Moffitt of Ramseur; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

She was a native of Chatham County and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Friendship Chapter #521.
