CONCORD - Louise Yow Pike, 89, of Brian Center, Concord, died Monday, July 27, 1998, at the center.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central United Methodist Church, where she was a member. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
She was a native of Stanly County, the widow of Joseph William Pike, a retired teacher with the Cabarrus County Schools, a graduate of Queens College, a member of the Nina Houston Circle at her church, and a member of Nosegay Garden Club, Quest Book Club, White Shrine and Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are sons, Joseph William Pike III of Asheboro, Daniel Locke Pike of Salisbury; brother, Dr. D. Eugene Yow of Concord; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Wilkinson Funeral Home, Concord, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Mary Ellen Medlin, 3631 Stonefield SW, Concord.

BLACK MOUNTAIN - William "Bill" Brown Jr., 55, died Sunday, July 26, 1998, at his home.
A Masonic Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Black Mountain, with the Black Mountain Masonic Lodge No. 663 conducting the service.
He was a native of Augusta, Ga., and a retired independent insurance agent.
Surviving are wife, Donna Hice Brown; daughter, Shannon Nestlerode of Shelby; son, Hal Brown of Asheboro; brother, Johnny Mac Brown of Fayetteville, Ga.; one granddaughter.

James William Spinks, 73, of 819 Meadowbrook Road, Asheboro, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 1998, at his home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at The Church of God of Prophecy, where he was a member, with Bishop Barney Trogdon officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
