Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stout's Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Jordan and Elder Dean Staley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Chatham County, a member of First Pentecostal Church and a retired employee of RamTex of Ramseur.
Surviving are husband, Clyde Ledwell Sr. of the home; daughter, Dorene L. Mason of Asheboro; sons, Clyde Ledwall Jr. and Brian Ledwell, both of Asheboro; father, Robert Brooks of Siler City; sisters, Judy Pugh and Margie Alston, both of Siler City; brother, Harold Brooks of Siler City; four grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Ethel Lamb McNeill, 94, of 234 Old Liberty Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. James and Leslie Lamb Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Albert McNeill, a homemaker and a charter member of Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church.
Surviving is sister, Ruby Lamb Hicks of Asheboro; two grandsons; three great-grandsons.

BENNETT - Robert Franklin "Frank" Cox, 66, of Lane Street, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at Mission Valley Memorial Hospital, Asheville.

He was a native of Chatham County, a 1956 graduate of Bennett High School, owner and operator of the Flatwood Dog Supply and Kennels and a field trial judge.

He was a Lenoir County native and a second-generation owner of Hawkins Electric, Aberdeen.

FRANKLINVILLE - James Eugene Allred, 71, of 3230 Carl Allred Road, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Ramseur Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Tommy E. Smith and the Rev. Jeff Joyce officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard
He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Grays Chapel School and a retired employee of the Randolph County Sheriff's Office. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran and retired from the U.S. Army after 32 years. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World, the American Legion and a commander of the Randolph County Honor Guard. He was a member of White's Memorial Baptist Church where he served on the ballfield committee, and he attended Ramseur Wesleyan Church where he was president of the Ottis Allen Bible Class.
Surviving are wife, Blanche Hobbs Allred of the home; daughter, Mary Fowlkes of Greensboro; son, Harvey Allred of Asheboro; stepdaughters, LaVerne York of Farmer, LeDale Allred of Franklinville, Linda Cox of Asheboro; stepson, Billy Cavender of Franklinville; sisters, Irene Reynolds of Pleasant Garden, Catherine Bean of Seagrove, Louise Allred of Franklinville, Ruth Allred of Asheboro; brothers, Wallace Allred, Franklin Allred, Clancy Allred, Carl Allred Jr. and Lonnie Allred, all of Franklinville; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Moore County, the widower of Geraldine Frye Stead, a World War II U.S. Merchant Marines veteran and a retired distribution manager for Binney & Smith Crayola Co. of Easton, Pa.
Surviving are daughter, Ann Barrett Stead of Fayetteville; sister, Alice Whiting of Easton, Pa.
