ASHEBORO - Bobby "Bob" Anderson Haithcock, 65, of 161 Lisbon Road, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Falls Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.

He was a Randolph County native and a U.S. Air Force veteran. After 33 years of service he retired as a lineman with Randolph Electric Membership Corp.

Surviving are wife, Jeannie Haithcock; daughters, Tammy Brigman of Asheboro and Crystal Willard; stepdaughter, Norma Jones of Asheboro; stepsons, James Payne and Thomas Bunch, both of Asheboro; sisters, Peggy Harrelson of Asheboro and Patsy Porter of Randleman; brother, Roger Haithcock of Asheboro; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 6-8 p.m. Friday.

ASHEBORO - Bradley "Brad" Thomas Prevatte, 27, of 1110 Draper St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

He was a Randolph County native and a graduate of Asheboro High School.

Surviving are mother, Linda Prevatte of Asheboro; father and stepmother, Glenn and Debbie Prevatte of Randleman; brother, Doug Prevatte of Asheboro; half sister, Ashley Prevatte of Sophia; stepbrother Lawrence Routh of Sophia; grandmother, Maxine Canipe of Asheboro.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Saturday; other times at his grandmother's home, 1952 Spero Road, Asheboro.

Richard S. Luther
SOPHIA - Richard Steven Luther, 55, of 3877 Grey Drive, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at the home of his sister in Florence, S.C.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday with military honors at Family Funeral Care, Thomasville, with the Rev. Barnard Law officiating.

He was a Davidson County native and a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to the V.A. Hospital in Salisbury.

Myrtle P. Sheffield
STAR - Myrtle "Myrt" Page Sheffield, 92, of 6848 Bells Grove Road, Denton, formerly of Ether, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Dover Baptist Church, Seagrove, with Dr. Don Davis and the Rev. Martin E. Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a Moore County native and a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, Lee Sheffield and James Sheffield, both of Ether and Jimmy Sheffield of Candor; daughters, Ruby Thompson of Denton and Frances Crabtree of High Falls; sister, Monnie Allred of Robbins; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 7-9 p.m. Friday; other times at the home of Lee Sheffield, 784 Brewer Road, Ether.

Margaret B. Hulsey
STAR - Margaret Baldwin Hulsey, 79, of 217 Tarry Church Road, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Burial will be in Norman Cemetery, Norman.

She was a Richmond County native and a retired seamer.

Surviving are daughters, Debra Teague of Robbins and Lynn Westover of Westover, Pa.; sons, Johnny R. Hulsey of Star and Eddie Hulsey of Jackson Springs; brother, Everette Baldwin of Laurinburg; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Constance J. Singer
TROY - Constance Jenkins Singer, 85, of Forest Oaks Rehabilitation Center, Albemarle, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, in Albemarle.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, with Rev. Raleigh Castelloe officiating. Burial will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Albemarle.

She was a native of Taylorsville and the widow of Carl Singer Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Troy, and retired from the retail grocery business.

Surviving are son, Carl Singer Jr. of Lebanon, Ohio; brother, George Jenkins of Troy; sister, Elizabeth Ehlerding of Troy.

The family will be at the funeral home 1-2 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.

Calvin L. Summey
THOMASVILLE - Calvin Lee Summey, 78, of 8053 S. N.C. 109, died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Liberty Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Benn Fleming and the Rev. Ray Swaney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a Caswell County native and self-employed in landscaping and grading work. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II on the USS Heyliger. He was a former Sunday School teacher at his church where he taught for 30 years.

Surviving are wife, Lois Gordon Summey, of the home; daughter, Kathy Gaither of Winston-Salem; sons, Wayne Summey of Lexington, Kenneth Summey and Billy Summey, both of Thomasville; sisters, Iva Kinley, Catherine Hunt and Jane Swaim, all of Trinity; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.

She was the widow of Wallace James Moore.

Surviving are sons, William J. "Jim" Moore, Kenneth L. Moore and Craig P. Moore, all of Silver Springs, Md.; daughter, Ruth W. Fagan of Silver Springs, Md.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - Odell Hammer, 78, of 201 N. Sixth Ave., died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Chatham Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Siler City Chapel, with the Rev. Tommy Steele officiating. Burial will be in Chatham Memorial Park.

He was a Chatham County native and retired from Smith Tractor in Liberty.

Surviving are wife, Doris Phillips Hammer of Siler City; daughters, Janice Saunders of Bennett, Sandra Simmons of Burlington and Rory Caviness of Climax; sisters, Sadie H. Sizemore of Liberty, Evie H. Phillips and Bessie H. Brown, both of Robbins; brother, Leroy Hammer of Goldston; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

SILER CITY - George Horton Ellis Sr., 72, of 900 W. Dolphin St., died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at SunBridge Care Facilities, Siler City.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lamont Hemminger officiating. Burial will be in Goldston Cemetery, Goldston.

He was a Chatham County native, a member of Loves Creek Baptist Church, a farmer and a carpenter. He was the widower of Doris Myers Ellis.

Surviving are son, George H. Ellis Jr. of Siler City; daughters, JoAnn E. Lemons, Opal E. Allred and Lisa Ellis, all of Siler City, and Kathy E. Moody of Snow Camp; brothers, Willie Ellis of Pittsboro, Grady Ellis of Sanford, James Ellis and Burnice Ellis, both of Byrum; sisters, Faye Tisdale of Siler City, Annie Ring of Greensboro and Margaret Oakley of Julian; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Edna M. Callicutt
STAR - Edna Mae Callicutt, 82, of 733 Horseshoe Bend Road, Troy, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at her residence.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Bob Freeman and the Rev. Charles Apple officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was a Montgomery County native and a homemaker.

Surviving are sons, Freedy W. Callicutt, Leon Callicutt and Dan Callicutt, all of Troy; six grandchildren; seven grandchildren.

SEAGROVE - James Reece Lamb, 54, of 5939 Antioch Church Road, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Antioch Christian Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Gerald Ward, Rev. Darren Richardson and Rev. Tim Moon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.

He was a Randolph County native and employed with Energizer. He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served in Vietnam.

Surviving are wife, Dianne Hayes Lamb; son, Brian Keith Lamb of Seagrove; daughter, Christie Leanne Lamb, of the home; sisters, Dot Millikan of Franklinville, Barbara Otwell of Ramseur, Nancy Tullock of Climax and Mary Moore of High Point; brothers, Charles Lamb and Ricky Lamb, both of Asheboro, and Billy Lamb of Denton; two granddaughters.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Sunday; other times at the home.

Selby C. Brown
TROY - Selby Claude Brown, 81, of 127 Johnson Road, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at First Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Douglas W. Beadle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

He was a Montgomery County native, had served on the board and was still an usher at his church. He had taught the young boys Sunday school class for almost 20 years. He was a former Little League baseball coach, a former national director of Youth Baseball and a former district director of Dixie Youth. He was a volunteer fireman for 25 years, a retired mechanic from Taylor Homes and a courier for First Bank.

Surviving are wife, Janice P. Brown of the home; daughter, Judy B. Royal of Troy; brother, Jack Brown of Troy; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons.

The family will be at First Wesleyan Church 7-9 p.m. Sunday; other times at the home.

Irene W. Seawell
CARTHAGE - Irene W. Seawell, 90, of Dowd Road, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at St. Joseph of the Pines in Southern Pines.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

She was a Guilford County native, a homemaker and retired as church pianist after 30 years of service. She was the widow of Archie D. Seawell.

Surviving are daughters, Anne S. Callahan of Raleigh, Evelyn S. Vest-Arnold and Carol S. Lemonds, both of Troy; son, Richard D. Seawell of Carthage; sister, Ruby Hockett of Pleasant Garden; brother, Floyd Weatherly and A.C. Weatherly, both of Pleasant Garden; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Fry & Prickett Funeral Home, Carthage, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

DENTON - Isaiah Gene Kearns, infant son of Gena Trogdon and Hollis Kearns II, of 6763 Gravel Hill Road, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Liberty Fellowship Church with Rev. Jamie Draughn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving, in addition to parents, are half sister; Haley Kearns of Asheboro; half brothers, Hollis Kearns III, Randy Kearns, Drew Kearns, all of Asheboro, and Ty Trogdon of the home; grandparents, Eugene and Joy Tucker of Denton, Hollis and Betty Sue Kearns of Asheboro; great-grandmother, Esther Kearns of Asheboro.

He was a Stokes County native and a retired accountant. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and attended Love's Grove United Methodist Church where he was a member of the United Methodist Men.

Surviving are wife, Beatrice Farmer Webster; son, Kenneth Webster of Coleridge; daughters, Reesa W. Warren of Coleridge and Melodie W. Lynch of Asheboro; sisters, Elizabeth Hussey of Asheboro and Katherine Bray of Siler City; seven grandchildren.

The family will be at Love's Grove United Methodist Church, 12:30-1:30 p.m., Sunday.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Sunday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Johnson City, Tenn., with Pastor Louis Badenhorst officiating. Eulogy will be delivered by Peter Penner.

He was a native of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and a retired insurance agent with Woods Insurance Agency. He was a veteran of the Canadian Army.

Surviving are wife, Vicki P. Woods, of the home; son, Larry Woods of Tullahoma, Tenn.; daughter, Kerry Nunnaley of Carthage; sisters, Carol Penner of Cache Creek, British Columbia, Canada, and Gloria Greaves of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada; brother, John Woods of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; one granddaughter.

He was a Randolph County native and a retired masonry contractor. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and formerly attended West Bend United Methodist Church.

Surviving are wife, Margaret Hughes Robbins; daughter, Vivian R. Coleman of Hickory; sons, Walon Robbins Jr., Lynn Robbins, Tim Robbins and Chris Robbins, all of Asheboro; sister, Larue Johnson of Asheboro; brothers, Bowden Robbins, Hoyt Robbins and Darrell Robbins, all of Asheboro, five grandchildren.
