Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at New Salem United Methodist, where he was a member, with the Rev. David McCauley officiating.
He was a Randolph County native and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was a past trustee at his church and a retired instructor from Randolph Community College. He was a past president and treasurer of Randleman's Lions Club.
Surviving are wife, Kathleen L. Baggett of Randleman; sons, Billy Baggett Jr. of Dallas and Sonny Spencer of Mt. Gilead; daughters, Ann McDonald, Nancy Hall and Patty Ray, all of Randleman; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

ARCHDALE - Oda Alma Baugus Walls, 84, of 625 Ashland Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Westwood Health & Rehabilitation, Archdale.
Funeral service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was an Allegheny County native and a homemaker. She was the widow of Lee Walls and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are daughters, Fay Deen Reitzel of Archdale, Carroll Gardner of Climax and Kathryn Bryant of Woodstock, Ga.; son, Kenith Walls of Randleman; sister, Lola Hawks of Fountain Inn, S.C.; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

BEAR CREEK - John Coy Cheek, 76, of 800 Vander Oldham Road, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at Chatham Hospital in Siler City.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Bear Creek, where he was a member, with the Rev. Darrell Garner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a Chatham County native and retired from Townsends Inc.
Surviving are wife, Opal Henriott Cheek of Bear Creek; sons, Charles L. Cheek of Bear Creek and John W. Cheek of Apex; daughter, Patricia C. Austin of Bear Creek; stepsons, Frank Patrum of Snow Camp and Mike Patrum of Elon College; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson.

Walter Frank
DENTON - Walter Roscoe Frank, 88, of Frank Road, died Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. John Kroh and the Rev. Steve Hedgecock officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a Davidson County native and retired from HPT & D Railroad after 40 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the 964th Engineers Maintenance Group, having served during World War II. He fought in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and the Battle of the Bulge. He received the Eamet Campaign Medal with four bronze stars. He was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class at his church and had served for many years as an usher. He was the widower of Essie Parker Frank.
Surviving are son, Robert Frank of Thomasville; daughters, Paulette Frank and Brenda Parks, both of Denton; brother, Donald Frank of Lexington; sisters, Ruby Ward and Maude Hedrick, both of Denton; four grandchildren.
