Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Asbury Baptist Church, with the Rev. Clay Davis officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was an Anson County native and a retired textile worker.
Surviving are stepson, Willis Hogan of Ether; brother, Thomas Blalock of Florida; two stepgrandchildren.

TROY - Winnie Marie Lucas Graves Scarboro, 76, of 1101 N. Main St., died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service is 4 p.m. Saturday at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro. Burial will be in Big Oak Church of God Cemetery.
She was a Montgomery County native and retired from the Council on Aging. She was the widow of husband Samuel Graves and husband John "Junior" Scarboro.
Surviving are stepdaughter, Iris Graves Parnell of Ramseur; sisters, Edna Sessions, Louise Helton and Ella Bitsel, all of North Carolina; brothers, John "Junior" Therrell of Tennessee and Joe Therrell of New Mexico.

MT. GILEAD - Maxine Loretta Bowden McCoy, 69, of Thomasville Church Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at her home.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Roosevelt Wall officiating. Burial will be in Stanly Memorial Gardens, Albemarle.
She was a Montgomery County native, a Peabody High School graduate and a graduate of Maco Beauty College of Greensboro. She was a Sunday School teacher and secretary at her church and a cosmetologist.
Surviving are husband, Alton McCoy of the home; daughters, Andell McCoy and Greta McCoy Ingram; sons, Almax McCoy, Gervase McCoy and Kevinar McCoy; sisters, Doris Cole and Joann Leake; brothers, Bobby Bowden and Billy Bowden; five grandchildren.

DENTON - Jack Donald Hedrick, 75, of Canaan Church Road, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dan Money and the Rev. Sandy Young officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a Davidson County native and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served during the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the United Methodist Men and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries after 32 years.
Surviving are wife, Polly Ward Hedrick of the home; son, Donald Hedrick of Denton; daughter, Melissa Gallimore of Denton; sisters, Kathleen Loflin and Elizabeth Peacock, both of Denton; two grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, an employee with Samet Construction in Greensboro and a former employee with Georgia Pacific in Asheboro.

She was a native of Norfolk, Va., and an administrative assistant with the N.C. Army National Guard.

She was a native of Princeton, W.Va., and the widow of Thomas Lee Baker. She attended Asheboro Holiness Missionary Church.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Seagrove United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Fran Moran and the Rev. Bill Foust officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a native of High Point, a graduate of William Fleming High School, Roanoke, Va., and a former baseball player with the Pittsburgh Pirates farm system. He was a graduate of Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tenn.. He developed and ran the alcohol rehabilitation program for ARCA in Forsyth County and retired as a supervisor of the RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. alcohol and drug program. He was a volunteer at the prison unit in Asheboro, the 2002 Volunteer of the Year and a member of the Seagrove Civitan Club.
Surviving are wife, Venetia Wilcox Smith of Seagrove; daughters, Laura S. Coppage of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Susanna G. Routh of Kernersville, Amanda G. Henderson of Seagrove; sons, Donald S. Smith of Gallatin, Tenn., Timothy P. Greene of Seagrove, Andrew P. Greene of Greensboro; 14 grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Asheboro High School, where he was an All State Football player. He was a graduate of High Point University, a teacher and coach at Randleman High School and a teacher and coach at Asheboro High School where he was also Head Football Coach and Athletic Director. He was a member of the N.C. High School Athletic Association and received the 1989 Region 5 Athletic Director of the Year Award.
Surviving are wife, Hilda Brown Morgan of Asheboro; daughters, Nancy Jessup of Fountain, Barbara Walters of Fairmont; brother, Hiatt Morgan of Asheboro; sister, J. Add Lea Morgan of Asheboro; four granddaughters.
