DENTON - Carmol Luther Smith, 78, of N.C. 109 South, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, where she was an active member, with the Rev. Chris Smith, the Rev. Claudie Harrison and the Rev. Mike McClellan officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born March 3, 1925, in Randolph County to Daniel Martin Luther and Pearl Lucas Luther. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by a sister, Garnett Cook.
Surviving are husband, Reece Smith, of the home; sons, Derald Smith and wife, Linda, of Eldorado, and Bobbie Smith of Denton; daughters, Ronda Walton and husband, Mic, and Ava Badgett and husband, Sidney, all of Denton; grandchildren, Yvonne Gillis and husband, Pete, Dathan Smith and wife, Teresa, Shane Smith and wife, Regina, Christopher Smith and wife, Amber, Kim Frizzell and husband, Thomas, Kelly Surratt and husband, Todd, and Brad Walton, all of Denton, Suzanne Cox and husband, Robbie, of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Jennifer and Ezekiel Gillis, Brandi Smith, Alexis Smith, Andrew and Sydney Cox, and Justin and Jadin Surratt; brother, Rex Luther and wife, Martha, of Denton.

ASHEBORO - Charles Rankin Callicutt, 77, of 1082 Jason Hoover Road, Asheboro, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with Pastor Billy Self officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park with military honors.
He was a native of Asheboro, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a former employee with Bossong and Asheboro Hosiery mills, former operator of Asheboro Gulf and former owner of Callicutt's Ornamental Iron Works.
Surviving are wife, Frances Hurley Callicutt; sons, Charles Thomas Callicutt of Asheboro, Michael Christopher Callicutt of Ramseur; daughters, Barbara C. Trotter and Teresa C. Caviness, both of Asheboro; sister, Helen C. Beane of Asheboro; brothers, Donald James Callicutt of Asheboro, Vance Callicutt of Archdale; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

ASHEBORO - Emma F. Thompson, 77, of 230 Presnell St., Asheboro, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service will be noon Monday at Harshaw Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. W.D. Roseman officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
She was a native of Mt. Airy and a retired Hospice aide.
Surviving are daughters, the Rev. Mary Walker of Laurel, Md., Barbara A. Faulkner of Asheboro; sons, James Woodie of Durham, John Woodie, Jesse A. Woodie and Ernest Thompson, all of Asheboro, Emanuel Thompson of Killeen, Texas; 14 grandchildren.
The family will be at the church 11 a.m.-noon on Monday, prior to the service.

She was the widow of Hester Lee Beane and Lewis Auman and a former employee of Thornton Hosiery. She previously attended Fairview United Methodist Church.
Surviving is sister, Nora Jarrett of High Point; one grandson.

He was a native of Danville, Ill., a graduate of South Davidson High School and an employee with Rick's Auto Detail.

He was a native of Richmond, Va., a member of Mt. Airy A.M.E. Zion Church and self-employed.

She was a Monroe County native, had retired from Burlington Industries and was employed at Sears of Asheboro.

RANDLEMAN - The Rev. Ray Woodrow Wilson Sr., 88, of 905 Hockett Dairy Road, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Randolph Hospital.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Monday at Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, with the Rev. Richard B. Jarrett officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.
He was a Nicholas County, W.Va., native and a retired United Methodist minister serving 40 years in the West Virginia Conference where he served two terms as District Superintendent. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and Westminster Theological Seminary.
Surviving are wife, Irene Dorsey Wilson of Randleman; son, Ray W. Wilson Jr. of Ponce Inlet, Fla.; daughter, Anna Wilson Cook of the home; sister, Gaye Wilson Crislip of Webster Springs, W.Va.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

He was a native of High Point and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during World War II. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

TRINITY - Robert Paige Green, 86, of 7226 Old U.S. 64, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at Thomasville Medical Center.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bonnie Preston Harris and the Rev. Luther Harris officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He was a Montgomery County native and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran having served in the Pacific. He was a member of the United Methodist Men, taught the Pope and Green Sunday School Class and the Young Adult Class, sang in the choir, was a Lay Speaker and served on various church boards. He was the widower of Golda Arnold Green.
Surviving are daughter, Beth Laine of Thomasville; two grandsons.
