She was a native of Randolph County.

LIBERTY - Josephine Smith Patterson Wilson, 77, of 718 S. Fayetteville St., died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at N.C. Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Bryan Fox and the Rev. William Bigham officiating.
She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of J.H. "Jack" Patterson and J. Boyce Wilson Sr., a local merchant for 30 years, co-owner of Jack's Meats and Groceries and a member of First United Methodist Church and the Wesley Bible Class.
Surviving are son, Shelly Patterson of Liberty; sister, Mozelle Holt of Greensboro; stepdaughter, Ann Leonard of Siler City; stepson, Julian Wilson of South Carolina; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Kim Hall, 731 S. Fayetteville St., Liberty.

He was a native of Chatham County, retired from Triangle Paving Company, where he was a truck driver for 26 years, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 81.

Louella Lee Bane Hammond of 6056 Old N.C. 49, Asheboro, died Monday, Oct. 12, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.

She was a native of Lincoln County, an artist, an art collector and a homemaker. She was a graduate of Farmer High School and later worked to save the school after it had closed, and worked to save the Dunbar Bridge.
Surviving are husband, R. Keith "Buck" Hammond of the home; daughters, Candace Wells Hammond of Roiatin Bay Island, Honduras, Pandora Bane Willingham of Wasilla, Alaska; sister, Glen Moore of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren.
