She was a native of Richmond County, the widow of Otis Nelson, retired from General Electric in Asheboro and was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are husband, Carlton Carter of the home; son, Elbert Jay Nelson of Asheboro; stepson, David Carter of Jackson Springs; daughters, Martha Graves of Seagrove, Barbara Owens of California; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

He was a native of Davie County, a 1977 graduate of Davie County High School, previously employed with Ingersoll-Rand and head golf professional at Asheboro Country Club and Hickory Hill Golf and Country Club. He worked with Toys for Tots and the Richard Petty Community Golf Tournament.
Surviving are wife, Kim Benson of the home; son, Nolan Benson of the home; parents, Robert F. "Bob" Benson and Nell Allen Benson; brother, Robin Benson of Mocksville; sisters, Bobbi Mullis of Mocksville, Debbie Worden of Boiling Springs Lakes.

She was a native of Gainesville, Fla., a graduate of the University of Florida, a former teacher at Waynesville Township High School and the widow of J. Colvin Brown Sr. She attended the First Baptist Church of Waynesville and was active in the Waynesville Woman's Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Surviving are daughter, Ruby Burton of Asheboro; son, J. Colvin Brown of Annandale, Va.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
