Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the home, with the Rev. Chuck Cook officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a retired teacher with Montgomery County Schools and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Surviving are sisters, Louise A. Farrell of the home, Kathryn A. Mashburn of Long Beach; brother, James B. Allen Sr. of Troy.

The family will be at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, Troy, 7-8:30 p.m. Monday.

Austin R. Hunt

STATESVILLE - Austin Ray Hunt, 62, of 234 Glenn Eagles Road, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Jack Causey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Hickory.

He was a native of Randolph County, a deacon at his church, a member of the Greater Statesville Rotary Club, the Breakfast Civitan Club, the Appalachian Hardwood Manufacturers and the Appalachian Hardwood Lumbermen Association, a missionary and was owner and operator of Austin Lumber Co.

Surviving are wife, Mary Norton Hunt of the home; son, Ray N. Hunt of Mooresville; brothers, Bryce Hunt of Thomasville, Brooks Hunt ot Wallburg, Hines Hunt of Hickory; sisters, Edna Leonard of Thomasville, Lena Surratt of Denton; one grandson.

BANNER ELK - Alberta Ellen Thomas Allen, 83, of 185 Norwood Hollow Road, formerly of Asheboro, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998, at Life Care Center of Banner Elk.

Pauline Smith Dail, 88, of 2575 W. 5th St., Greenville, formerly of Asheboro, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 1998, at East Carolina Care, Greenville.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Asheboro City Cemetery.

She was a native of Asheboro, a buyer for Hudson Belk Company, a member of Jarvis Memorial United Methodist Church, Greenville, and active in various civic and business organizations.

Henry Edward Needham, 78, of 4185 N.C. 42 South, Asheboro, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998, at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Shiloh Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Bruce McLanahan and the Rev. David Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired after 23 years with J.P. Stevens, retired from Acme-McCrary, was a World War II veteran and a trustee at his church, where he had 41 years of perfect Sunday School attendance.

Surviving are wife, Dessie Kiser Needham of the home; son, Doyle Kiser Needham of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters, Cleta N. Coble of Asheboro, Carrie N. Brooks of Ramseur; brother, Carl C. Needham of Asheboro.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II and Korean War U.S. Navy veteran, retired from the furniture industry and was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, High Point.

Surviving are sons, Philip Hall of Alexandria, Va., Keith Hall of Randleman; sister, Edna Moody of Asheboro; brothers, Horace Hall of Randleman, Bill Hall of California.

He was a native of Randolph County, a retired farmer and a member of Old Union United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Franklinville Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Kelly Toth and the Rev. Alvin Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, retired from Burlington Industries after 25 years, was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, Sunday School superintendent and a member of his church board, a past member of the Franklinville Town Board and a member of the Franklinville Improvement Association.

Surviving are wife, Joann P. Morton of the home; sons, Jesse Wallace "Wally" Morton Jr. of Lexington, Philip Morton of Robbins, Patrick Morton of Franklinville; daughters, Kathryn Brower of Randleman, Linda Canoy of the home; brother, Travis Morton of High Point; sisters, Viola Keiffer, Lorraine Johnson, Shelva Jean Bass, all of High Point; six grandchildren; two great-grandsons.

She was a native of High Point, a graduate of High Point School, a Justice of the Peace, a member of Archdale United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School class, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a volunteer at High Point Regional Hospital.

Surviving are husband, Richard E. Snyder of the home; daughters, Sue S. Howard of High Point, Vicki S. Bean of Wallburg, Diana R. Snyder of Greensboro; four granddaughters.
