SILER CITY - Wayne Jasper Brewer, 70, of 519 W. Raleigh St., died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was a 1956 graduate of High Point College, a district director for 28 years with the American Red Cross and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are sisters, Florence B. Sizemore of Bear Creek, Annie B. Harris of Pittsboro, Celestine "Judy" B. Michael, Margaret Clodfelter, both of Winston-Salem.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

SANFORD - Cornelius Winston "Dealie" Allen, 86, of 2612 Cameron Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Central Carolina Hospital.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sanford Church of God, with the Rev. Eugene Powers officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
He was a native of Harnett County and the widower of Mamie Sawyer Allen.
Surviving are brother, Britton Allen of Ramseur; sisters, Edna Goins of Ramseur, Margie Buchanan of Sanford.
The family will be at the church 10-11 a.m. Friday, other times at the home.

Inez McDowell Welborn, 55, of 582 Foxfire Road, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ramseur Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Roland Cavanaugh and the Rev. Justus McKeel officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Christian Church Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, employed with Randolph County Schools and was a member of the Charles Kinney Sunday School class at her church.
Surviving are husband, Jack Welborn of the home; son, Renay Welborn of Franklinville; daughter, Regina W. Maness of Franklinville; brothers, Clinton McDowell of Oxford, Trellis McDowell of Archdale, Lauren McDowell of Asheboro, Milton Greg McDowell of Denton; two grandchildren.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, served on the Randolph Bank & Trust board of directors and was the former owner of Pritchard Construction Co.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kimesville, where he was a member, with Dr. Charles Adams officiating.
He was a farmer, the widower of Mary Fogleman Roberson Causey and a former director of Liberty Savings & Loan Association.
Surviving are stepdaughter, Jane R. Causey of Liberty; stepson, Thomas Roberson of Burlington; sisters, Mildred "Mitchie" Hall of Naples, Fla., Martha "Marti" Morton of Burlington; brother, Clark Causey of Liberty; five stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

CARTHAGE - Franklin O. Frye, 77, formerly of Carthage, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Brian Center, Clayton.

He was a native of Carthage, attended Carthage schools, was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration at Pope Air Force Base, Fayetteville.
Surviving are daughters, Pam Taylor of Shallotte, Conoley Frye of Fayetteville, Susan Nurnburg of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Joan F. Lewis of Asheboro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
