SILER CITY - Wayne Jasper Brewer, 70, of 519 W. Raleigh St., died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home, Siler City, with the Rev. Paul Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a 1956 graduate of High Point College, a district director for 28 years with the American Red Cross and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Surviving are sisters, Florence B. Sizemore of Bear Creek, Annie B. Harris of Pittsboro, Celestine "Judy" B. Michael, Margaret Clodfelter, both of Winston-Salem.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Friday.

Cornelius W. Allen
SANFORD - Cornelius Winston "Dealie" Allen, 86, of 2612 Cameron Drive, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Central Carolina Hospital.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sanford Church of God, with the Rev. Eugene Powers officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.

He was a native of Harnett County and the widower of Mamie Sawyer Allen.

Surviving are brother, Britton Allen of Ramseur; sisters, Edna Goins of Ramseur, Margie Buchanan of Sanford.

The family will be at the church 10-11 a.m. Friday, other times at the home.

Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Sanford, is in charge of the arrangements.

Inez M. Welborn
Inez McDowell Welborn, 55, of 582 Foxfire Road, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Ramseur Wesleyan Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Roland Cavanaugh and the Rev. Justus McKeel officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Christian Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Randolph County, employed with Randolph County Schools and was a member of the Charles Kinney Sunday School class at her church.

Surviving are husband, Jack Welborn of the home; son, Renay Welborn of Franklinville; daughter, Regina W. Maness of Franklinville; brothers, Clinton McDowell of Oxford, Trellis McDowell of Archdale, Lauren McDowell of Asheboro, Milton Greg McDowell of Denton; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, 7-9 p.m. Saturday.

RAMSEUR - Blanche Bell Isley, 98, of 521 Eastern Randolph Road, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakland Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Surviving are sons, Charles E. Alston, Glenn Alston, both of Ramseur; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 1-2 p.m. Saturday, other times at the home of Charles Alston, 473 Eastern Randolph Road, Ramseur.

CARTHAGE - Kevin Jerome Barrett, 31, of 1768 U.S. 15-501, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at his home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Jordan Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Southern Pines, with the Rev. Paul Green Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Surviving are wife, Melissa Barrett of Durham; daughter, Kradijah Barrett of Durham; son, Kevin Jerome Barrett Jr. of Durham; parents, Brother Nathaniel Spencer and Vanessa Spencer of Southern Pines; brothers, Benjamin Barrett of Carthage, Darius Spencer, TaJuan Spencer, both of Southern Pines; sisters, Jacqueline B. Moultrie of Pinehurst, Tamara Thompson of Pinebluff; grandparents, Roosevelt and Golie Spencer of Southern Pines.

Luther Clegg Pritchard, 73, of 2201 Country Lane, Asheboro, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Neighbors Grove Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Paul Griffin and the Rev. Hoover Smith officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, served on the Randolph Bank & Trust board of directors and was the former owner of Pritchard Construction Co.

Surviving are wife, Myrtle Lee Harrison Pritchard of Asheboro; sons, Phillip C. Pritchard, Stephen L. Pritchard, Donald Neal Pritchard, all of Asheboro; sisters, Ruth Brown, Fairy May Perryman, both of Asheboro; half brothers, Lewis E. Pritchard of Winston-Salem, Rufus O. Pritchard of Jackson, Miss., Ralph L. Pritchard of Walkertown; half sisters, Lucy P. Hayes of Winston-Salem, Sarah P. Smith of Clemmons; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren.

The family will be at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Alma Shelton Deaton, 87, of 2377 Old Humble Mill Road, Asheboro, formerly of Mt. Gilead, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at her home.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Cemetery, Mt. Gilead, with the Rev. Dan Abernathy officiating.

She was a native of Stokes County, retired from Russell Hosiery Mill and was a member of Hamer Creek Baptist Church, Mt. Gilead.

Surviving is sister-in-law and caretaker, Margaret Shelton of the home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, with the Rev. Floyd Turlington officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Harnett County and a retired employee of Jockey Mfg., Cedar Falls.

Surviving are daughter, Linda Reeder of the home; sons, Robert Hinson of Ramseur, Ronald Hinson of Asheboro; step-daughters, Glenda Hughes of Liberty, Brenda Patterson, Edna Freeman, both of Lumberton; stepsons, Robert L. Hinson of Denver, Colo., Ernest T. Hinson of Star, James Hinson of Wilmington; sister, Shirley Edwards of Hope Mills; brothers, Harvey Porter of Randleman, Buddy Porter of Wilmington; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Arnold R. Williamson
SEAGROVE - Arnold R. Williamson, 70, of 132 Williamson Lane, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.

A graveside service will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Ross Moore officiating.

He was a native of Moore County and a past employee with Lucks Foods.

Surviving are sisters, Tula Albright, Blanch Sheffield, both of Seagrove, Carletta Welch of Robbins; brothers, Herbert Williamson, Jimmy Williamson, Leon Williamson, Roy O. Williamson, all of Seagrove.

The family will be at Phillips Funeral Home, Star, 1-3 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Rolland R. Causey
LIBERTY - Rolland Richardson Causey, 87, of Burlington Manor, formerly of 5214 South N.C. 62, Burlington, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, Kimesville, where he was a member, with Dr. Charles Adams officiating.

He was a farmer, the widower of Mary Fogleman Roberson Causey and a former director of Liberty Savings & Loan Association.

Surviving are stepdaughter, Jane R. Causey of Liberty; stepson, Thomas Roberson of Burlington; sisters, Mildred "Mitchie" Hall of Naples, Fla., Martha "Marti" Morton of Burlington; brother, Clark Causey of Liberty; five stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church following the service.

DENTON - Ernest Glen Brallier, 82, of 2489 Handy Road, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at his home.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date.

He was a native of Holsopple, Pa., widower of Jean Brallier, a U.S. Army veteran and a retired postal clerk.

Surviving are daughters, Kathy McGuire of Denton, Susan Pell of Trinity, Patricia Reagin of Saginaw, Mich.; brothers, Kenneth Brallier of Orchard Park, N.Y., Jack Brallier of Johnstown, Pa.; sister, Flossie Bacca of San Jose, Calif.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home 6-8 p.m. Monday.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bright Light Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ralph Voncannon, the Rev. Bennie Maness and the Rev. Russell Craddock officiating. Burial will be in Pine Rest cemetery.

She was a native of Moore County, a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and retired from Proctor-Silex, Hamilton Beach Company.

Surviving are husband, Steven W. Sheffield; son, Hubert W. Sheffield of Kernersville; sisters, Josie C. Stutts, Bell C. Pope, Donna C. Beck, Kathleen C. Craddock, all of Robbins; brothers, Ben Cockman, Roland Cockman, both of Robbins.

The family will be at Kennedy Funeral Home, Robbins, 7-9 p.m. Sunday, other times at the home.

Franklin O. Frye
CARTHAGE - Franklin O. Frye, 77, formerly of Carthage, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998, at Brian Center, Clayton.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Hinson officiating.

He was a native of Carthage, attended Carthage schools, was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps veteran and retired from the Federal Aviation Administration at Pope Air Force Base, Fayetteville.

Surviving are daughters, Pam Taylor of Shallotte, Conoley Frye of Fayetteville, Susan Nurnburg of Jefferson City, Mo.; sister, Joan F. Lewis of Asheboro; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the church immediately following the service.

She was a homemaker and retired from Duratred in Burlington after 40 years.

Surviving is husband, Jim Andrew Womble.

A private graveside service will be in Albemarle, with the Rev. Lee Roy Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Canton Baptist Church Cemetery.

She was a native of Rowan County, the widow of Jasper Newton Huneycutt, a member of Central Falls Baptist Church and retired from J.P. Stevens.

Surviving are daughters, Betty H. McLeod, Frances H. Dunn, both of Asheboro, Shirley H. Wright of Greensboro, Linda H. Lowdermilk of Seagrove; brother, Wade Surratt of Albemarle; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

Margaret Elizabeth Nance Yow, 77, of 6554 Clyde King Road, Seagrove, died Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at her home.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of Emory Ottis Yow, a member of United Church of God-AIA of Asheboro and retired from Smart Style.

Surviving are sons, Harvey Yow, Gregory Yow, Lemuel Yow, Steve Yow, all of Seagrove; daughters, Inez Y. Burrow of Seagrove, Joann Y. Burrow of Franklinville, Hilda Y. Burns of Seven Lakes, Debbie Y. Mabry of Pinebluff; brother, Carl Nance of Asheboro; sister, Lucille N. Russell of High Point; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.

He was a deacon, past president of the Men's Bible Class, chairman of the building committee and member of the Baptist Men's Club at his church, a director of Farmers' Alliance Store, former member of Silk Hope Ruritan Club and retired from Burlington Industries, Spencer Love Center, Burlington.

Surviving are wife, Vera White Edwards of Siler City; sisters, Josie E. Walker of Kimesville, Grace E. Lindley of Snow Camp, Maie E. Harris of Guilford College, Irene E. Thomas of Rockingham.

He was a native of Guilford County and former owner and operator of Highway 49 Shell Service.

Wayne Harris Moffitt, 59, of 315 McKnight St., Asheboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 1998, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.

He was a native of Coleridge, formerly employed at Klopman Mills-Central Falls plant and had worked at Klaussner Furniture Plant No. 7.

Surviving are wife, Faye Willis Moffitt; daughters, Mandy Pugh of Franklinville, Kathy Wirt of Randleman; sisters, Ava Lee Lane, Phyllis Nance, Dianne Maness, all of Asheboro; three grandchildren; one great-grandson.
