He was a native of Los Angeles, Calif., and attended Asheboro High School.
Surviving are father, Martin Ramirez of the home; mother, Ines Elizabeth Montenegro of the home; sister, Xiomara Alvarenga of the home; brothers, Martin Ramirez Jr. and Moises Ramirez, both of the home; grandmother, Elsa Regina Guillen of the home.

Beulah M. La-Mar
Beulah Marie DeVors La-Mar, 65, of 304 Wesley Court, Asheboro, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 1998, at High Point Regional Hospital.
No service will be held.
She was a native of Danville, Ill., a former employee of Champagne Dye and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Surviving are husband, Richard Paul La-Mar; sons, Robert Eynon La-Mar and Richard Louis La-Mar, both of Asheboro, and James DuPaul La-Mar of Claytonville, Ill.; daughters, Marie T. Caviness of Ramseur and Ester M. Jones of Troy; sisters, Leola Grubstad of Lake Wells, Fla., and Blanche Meyer of LaVerne, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.

BENNETT - Jessie Mae McNeill Comer, 95, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at SunRise Care and Rehabilitation Center in Siler City.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at Bennett Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Tim Strider, Rev. J.R. Bouldin and Rev. Edsel Caviness officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County, a homemaker, and the widow of Frank McNeill and Curtis Comer.
Surviving are daughters, Mozelle Routh and Ruth Oldham, both of Bennett, and Betty Caviness of Burlington; son, James McNeill of Ramseur; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday and other times at the residence of Mrs. Harvey Oldham in Bennett.

RANDLEMAN - Alicia Sue Deitering, infant daughter of David and Brenda Deitering of 3906 Camp Nawaka Road, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Surviving in addition to the parents are sister, Kayla Sue Deitering of the home; grandfather, Charles Richard Thitoff of Delphos, Ohio.

MOUNT PLEASANT - Vara Albright Goodman, 91, of 7138 N.C. 73 East, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1998, at Concord Nursing Center in Concord.
Funeral service was 3 p.m. Saturday at Gordon Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chet Byerly officiating. Burial was in St. James United Church of Christ Cemetery.
She was a native of Montgomery County, a member of St. James United Church of Christ and the widow of Opal H. Goodman.

MT. GILEAD - George Washington Kelly, 78, of 205 E. 2nd St., died Thursday, Dec. 24, 1998, at his residence.
Funeral service will be 11 p.m. Monday at Holly Mount Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Mitchell Walker and Rev. Bill High officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe.
He was a native of Montgomery County, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a retired grocery clerk.
Surviving are son, Jerry Kelly of Albemarle; sisters, Odessa Jett of Candor and Lois Thompson and Dorothy Blake, both of Mt. Gilead; stepsons, Amos J. Hough Jr. of Marietta, Ga., and Walter Hough of St. Petersburg, Fla.; stepdaughters, Mrs. George Crump and Mrs. Ed. Scarboro, both of Bradenton, Fla., and Mrs. Larry Robinson of Concord; seven grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Bensalem Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Tom Williams and Rev. Dawes Graybill officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was a native of Moore County, a member of the Ladies Circle at her church and a retired clerk from Belk Department Stores.
Surviving is a brother, Mack Kennedy of Eagle Springs.

He was a native of Davidson County, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and retired co-owner and operator of Morris Super Market in Denton.

He was a native of Washington, D.C., a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran, employed with the U.S. Postal Service and restored classic cars.
Surviving are wife, Deborah Hanratty; sons, Robert B. Hanratty, Justin S. Hanratty; stepdaughter, Heather Miller; mother and stepfather, June Boarman Hinkson and George R.
