RANDLEMAN - Shirley Lamb Reynolds, 53, of 108 Village Ave., died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Wesley Long Community Hospital, Greensboro.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday at Worthville Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating.

She was a native of Randolph County and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Dairell Wayne Reynolds of Randleman; daughters, Karen Reynolds of the home, Nena R. Callicutt of Randleman; sister, Jean Alligood of Randleman; brothers, William Lamb of Randleman, Paul Lamb of Sophia; four grandsons.

The family will be at the church immediately following the service.

Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman, is in charge of the arrangements.

RANDLEMAN - Mary Jane Jarrett Hamilton, 60, of 6074 Gilbert Davis Drive, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Landmark Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Frank Barrett and the Rev. Henry Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Friends Meeting cemetery.

She was a native of Guilford County and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, John F. "Tinker" Hamilton of the home; son, Ronald Lee Hamilton of Randleman; sister, Sharon D. Moran of Randleman; brothers, William R. "Bill" Jarrett of Archdale, Harvey L. Jarrett of Trinity; one grandson.

The family will be at Ridge Funeral Home, Asheboro, 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

William E. Patterson
ARCHDALE - William Ervin Patterson, 93, of GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center and formerly of Tabor Street, High Point, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, in the nursing center.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Cumby Funeral Home, Eastchester Drive, High Point, with the Rev. Bill Payne officiating. Burial will be in Floral Garden Park.

He was a native of Fanning County, Ga., the widower of Mary Truitt Patterson, retired employee with Kiddie-Tot Hosiery Mill and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.

Surviving are daughter, Jewel Patterson of High Point; brothers, Charles Luther Patterson of Thomasville, Eugene Patterson of Blue Ridge, Ga.; sisters, Loreda Abbott of Yadkinville, Gladys Osborne of Lynchburg, Va., Helen Morrison of Rome, Ga.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home of Greg and Donna Ferguson, 1060 Country Place Road, Asheboro.

Kenneth F. Langley Sr.
STALEY - Kenneth Franklin Langley Sr., 69, of 4651 N.C. 49 North, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Elon College and former employee of Boren Clay Products.

Surviving are wife, Wynona W. Langley of the home; daughter, Rosemary Langley-McCoy of Elon College; son, Kenneth Franklin Langley Jr. of Lewisville, Texas; brother, Roger Langley of Staley; one granddaughter.

She was a native of Davidson County, a member of Reeds United Methodist Church and a homemaker.

Surviving are husband, Jesse LeRoy Lamar of the home; sons, Ron Lamar of Greer, S.C., Jack Lamar of Asheboro; sister, Blanche Phillips of Warsaw; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

James L. Caviness
ROBBINS - James Lexie Caviness, 86, of 956 Caviness Town Road, died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Pine Lake Health Care, Carthage.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beulah Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Dr. Curtis Barbery officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

He was a native of Moore County, retired from Milikan Company in Robbins and a farmer.

Surviving are wife, Myrtle Williams Caviness of the home; daughters, Clariece Cheek, Catherine Brown, both of Robbins; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Joyce-Brady Funeral Home, Bennett, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home.

George C. Stutts
MT. GILEAD - George Clinton Stutts Jr., 89, formerly of Ingram Street, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at FirstHealth Montgomery Memorial Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Jim Harris officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.

He was a native of Richmond County and a retired poultry farmer.

Surviving are stepson, Jim Armstrong of Durham; sisters, Alice Poole, Carrie Sprye, both of Raleigh; eight grandchildren.

The family will be at the church 1:30-2 p.m. Wednesday.

FORT MILL, S.C. - Eben Nelms Ingram, 88, of 207 Applegate Lane, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at his home.

Funeral service was 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Ellerbe, with the Rev. Denny Clennon officiating. Burial will be in Ellerbe Cemetery.

He was a native of Richmond County and a retired fabricator in the shipping industry.

John F. Hostetler
John F. Hostetler, 65, of Calabash, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Carolina House of Asheboro.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Gelsen's Funeral Home, Merrillville, Ind. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, Ind.

He was a native of Gary, Ind., a lifetime member of the Merrillville Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Calabash Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are wife, Patricia Hostetler of Calabash; daughters, Susan Hales of Naperville, Ill., Mary Anne Church of Asheboro, Christine Lopez of Raleigh; son, Jack Hostetler of Merrillville, Ind.; sister, Marie Smith of Hobart, Ind.; brother, Joe Hostetler of Merrillville, Ind.; four grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

She was a native of Randolph County, a graduate of Staley High School and Greensboro Beauty College and owned and operated Friendly Beauty Shop.

Surviving are husband, Ralph "Chick" Smith of the home; daughter, Mitzi Wilson of Laurinburg; son, Mickey Smith of Liberty; sisters, Carolyn Vickrey, Sue Garner, Myrna "Midge" Vickrey, all of Liberty; brothers, Larry Vickrey of Liberty, Ronald Vickrey of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; four grandchildren.

The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home, Liberty, 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, other times at the home.

DENTON - Cleo Phelps Surratt, 84, of South Main Street, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Community General Hospital, Thomasville.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Vernon Peterson. Burial will be in Lick Creek Baptist Church cemetery.

She was a native of Davie County, the widow of R. Lee Surratt, a former waitress at Park In Grill, a Sunday School teacher at her church and a member of Eastern Star.

Surviving are son, Jerry L. Surratt of Wingate; daughter, Susan Surratt of the home; sister, Mary P. Crater of Advance; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

The family will be at Briggs Funeral Home, Denton, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

MT. GILEAD - Rachel Coyle Carroll, 29, of 823 E. College Ave., Fredricksburg, Va., died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Annunciation Catholic Church, Albemarle, with Father Alexcey officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery.

She was a native of London, England, a 1987 graduate of West Montgomery High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a BA in education and was a teacher at Moncure Elementary School, Stafford, Va.

Surviving are husband, Capt. L.L. Carroll of California; mother and stepfather, Rosanna and Roman Walz of Mt. Gilead; father and stepmother, Charlie and Melanie Coyle of Charlotte; brothers, Paul Coyle of Norwood, John Coyle of Mt. Gilead; half brothers, David Coyle, Sean Coyle, both of Charlotte; grandfather, Johnny Coyle of Balbriggen, Ireland.

The family will be at McKeithan Funeral Home, Mt. Gilead, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

MT. GILEAD - Everette James Hoover, 82, of 600 W. Allenton St., died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at his home.

He was a native of Mt. Gilead, a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran and a retired data process manager.

Surviving are wife, Kitty Belle Hutchinson Hoover of the home; sons, Steven Hoover of Blowing Rock, Michael Hoover of Stanley, Kevin Hoover of the home; sisters, Eunice Ussery of Asheboro, Hazel Seamon of Graham; five grandchildren.

WINSTON-SALEM - Virginia Dare Bumgarner Caton, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at Forsyth Medical Center, Winston-Salem.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Knollwood Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Chris Chapman officiating.

She was a native of Wilkes County and a member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, with the Rev. Michael Jordan and the Rev. Tim Shoaf officiating. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. in Randolph Memorial Park.

She was a native of Randolph County, the widow of W. Ernest Ridge, a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, the Philathea Sunday School class, the Asheboro Senior Women's Club and a former member of Shamrock Garden Club.

Surviving are daughters, Betty R. Craven of Southern Pines, Tina R. Bishop of Charlotte; son, James W. Ridge of Asheboro; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the funeral home following the service and before the burial.

Robert W. Fuller Jr.
HIGH POINT - Robert Walker Fuller Jr. died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at High Point Regional Hospital.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, with Dr. C. Garland Young and the Rev. Ivan H.M. Peden officiating. A graveside service will be at Farmer United Methodist Church Cemetery, Farmer.

He was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a retired officer and part owner of General Paper Co.

Surviving are wife, Goldie Godwin Fuller of the home; son, Robert Walker Fuller III of Charlotte; two grandchildren.

The family will be at Sechrest Funeral Home, High Point, 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday.

He was a native of Davidson County and a retired employee with Herman McDowell Saw Mill.

George W. Wilson Jr.
BISCOE - George William Wilson Jr., 64, of Alma, Ark., formerly of Biscoe, died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, in East Prairie, Mo.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church, Hamlet, with Father Patrick Shelton, O.S.B., officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ellerbe.

He was a native of Richmond County, the widower of E. Elaine Epps Wilson, a self-employed truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran of Korea.

Surviving are son, W. Darrell Wilson of Raleigh; daughters, Michelle Wilson of Raleigh, Dolores Kennedy of Charlotte, Diana Holmes, Theresa Staruch, both of New York; sisters, Audrey Treece of Ellerbe, Annie Mae Burgess of Oregon, Janice Wilson of Rockingham, Mary Bowen of Matthews; 10 grandchildren.

The family will be at Carter Funeral Home, Ellerbe, 7-8:30 p.m. Friday.
