ROANOKE, Va. - Geraldine Austin Dillard, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Williamson Road Church of the Brethren, where she was a member, with the Rev. Michael L. Hostetter officiating.
She was a native of Lynchburg, Va., a member of Rosewood Garden Club, Meals on Wheels and Williamson Road Action Forum. She helped organize and head, along with her husband, the Army Reunion 405th AAA Gun Battalion for the past 25 years, was a coordinator of the "We Care" Program, a deacon at her church where she served on numerous boards and committees and was a past president of Round Hill PTA.
Surviving are husband, Warren F. Dillard; son, Glenn W. Dillard of Roanoke, Va.; daughters, Joann D. Mattingly of Arlington, Va., Nancy D. Pendleton of Asheboro; brothers, Joseph E. Austin of Dallas, Texas, Cecil B. Austin of Lynchburg, Va.; sisters, Lois A. Krinisky of Seneca, S.C., Helen A. Franklin of Concord, Va., Jean A. Mayberry, Emma A. White, Arlene A. Farrar, all of Lynchburg, Va.; five grandchildren.

She was a native of Montgomery County, owner/operator of Fink's Florist in Concord, worked at Garner's Florist and other local floral shops in Asheboro and was the oldest living member of Shady Grove Christian Church.
