Nancy Gillikin Rawls Thigpen Dianish, 88, of Matthews, formerly of Atlantic Beach, died Tuesday at Wake Forest Medical Center, Raleigh.
Arrangements will be announced by Brooks Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. of Morehead City.

Robert P. Turpin, 88; service to be Friday
Robert P. "Bob" Turpin, 88, of Newport, died Tuesday at Harborview Towers.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park.
Mr. Turpin is survived by his wife, Azilee Turpin; two sons, John P. Turpin of Wilmington, and Robert G. Turpin of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Virginia Jones of Norfolk, Va.; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends following the service.

Kenneth P. "Curly" Whealton, 45, of Broad Creek, died Sunday.
His funeral was Tuesday at Munden Funeral Home, with the Rev. Fred G. Simpson officiating.
Burial followed in Bayview Cemetery.
Mr. Whealton was employed with Harrell and Associates General Contractors.
He is survived by his son, Joshua Whealton of Beaufort; his father, Kenneth E. Whealton of Newport; a sister, Geraldine Whealton of Cedar Island; three brothers, Billy Whealton and his wife, Karen, of Wilmington, and John Whealton and his wife, Melissa, and Kevin Whealton, all of Newport; his fiancee, Deborah Moore of Morehead City; two nieces, Faith Ann Gaskill of Cedar Island, and Shannon Harris and husband, Kerry, of Atlantic; and three nephews, Richard Whealton of Wilmington and Justin Whealton and C.J. Whealton, both of Newport.

Julia Taylor Smith, 59, of Statesville, formerly of Morehead City, died Sunday at Davis Medical Center, Statesville.
Her funeral was Tuesday at Parkview Baptist Church, with the Rev. Farrell Lemings officiating.
Burial followed in Bayview Cemetery.
She is survived by three daughters, Marie Shumaker and Cyndee W. Buchanan, both of Statesville, and Ronnie L. Buchanan of Cleveland; three sons, Roy Lee Buchanan of Statesville, Dwain E. Buchanan of Cleveland, and Jeffrey E. Buchanan of Morehead City; two sisters, Helen Seifert of Millington, Tenn., and Lois Moore of Newport; two brothers, Charles Taylor of San Francisco, Calif., and Gerald Taylor of New Bern; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Josh Aaron Racca, 11; service out of state
Josh Aaron Racca, 11, of Cameron, La., died Monday, April 5, in a Lake Charles, La., hospital.
He was the maternal grandson of Ralph Gaskill of Sea Level.
His funeral was Friday, April 9, at First Baptist Church of Cameron, La., with the Rev. Doyle Evans officiating.
Burial followed in Peshoff Cemetery, Cameron.
In addition to his grandfather, Josh is survived by his parents, Timothy and Michelle Racca of Cameron; a sister, Shaley Michelle Racca of the home; maternal grandmother, Barbara Arthur of Cameron; paternal grandparents Edward Racca, Jr., and Sharlene Racca, both of Cameron; paternal great-grandparents, Randolph and Ovena Boudreaux, both of Franklin, La.; paternal step-grandmother, Hazel Racca of Cameron; and paternal great-grandparents, Justin and Ledi Cameron and Ledi Picou, Sr., all of Cameron.

A graveside service was at 11 a.m. today at the Godette Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Ervin Hickman and Vickie Reels officiating.
The child is survived by his parents, Dalton Godette and Matilda Ellison, both of Havelock; a sister, Ashley Ellison of Havelock; maternal grandparents, James and Mamie Ellison of Beaufort; and paternal grandparents, George and Duella Godette of Havelock.

Viola Rose Paque, 90; service to be later
Viola Rose Paque, 90, of Morehead City, died Sunday at Harborview Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held later in Hollywood, Fla.
Mrs. Paque was born and continued to live in Milwaukee, Wis., until she and her husband retired to Hollywood, Fla. In 1995 she moved to Morehead City. She was a lifetime member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.
Mrs. Paque is survived by a daughter, LaVerne Domach and husband, Ralph, of Ocean; and a grandson, Dr. Michael M. Domach of Pittsburgh, Pa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Paque.

Tilman R. Smith, 85, of Hubert, died Sunday at Britthaven of Onslow in Jacksonville.
A graveside service was held Tuesday at Seaside Memorial Park, Swansboro, with Pastor Charles Marino officiating.
Born in Middlebrook, Ky., Mr. Smith was a service station manager.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Jones Smith; a daughter, Berta Lynn Taylor of Goldsboro; four sons, Ray W. Smith of Hubert, Tim Smith of Ridgeville, S.C., James Frank Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., and Charles David Smith of Norwood, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Her funeral was set for 11 a.m. today at Cedar Point Pentecostal Holiness Church, Cedar Point, with the Rev. David Harper officiating.
Born in Pamlico County, Mrs. Avery was a seamstress at the Swansboro Garment Factory.
She is survived by her husband, Clayton Avery; a son, Jeffrey E. Avery of Bear Creek; two sisters, Doris Hill of Four Oaks, and Josephine Jones of Raleigh; four brothers, Kenneth Dixon of Smithfield, Thomas Eugene Dixon of Selma, Leroy Dixon of Sneads Ferry, and Robert Earl Dixon of Raleigh; and one grandchild.
