Suzanne Marie Thomas, 17; service to be Thursday
Suzanne Marie Thomas, 17, of Emerald Isle, died Sunday at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, Jacksonville, with pastor Jimmy Rivers officiating.
Burial will be in Onslow Memorial Park.
A member of First Baptist Church, Morehead City, Miss Thomas was a senior at West Carteret High School.
She was a member of the Color Guard, Winter Guard, Marching Patriots Band and the DECA Club.
She was a volunteer with Special Olympics.
Miss Thomas is survived by her mother, Anne M. Thomas of Emerald Isle; her stepfather, Robert N. Ruistein of Emerald Isle; a sister, A. Michelle Thomas of Emerald Isle; paternal grandparents, Cecelia Baerwold and Louie B. Baerwolf of Maryland; and her sister's fiance, Jefferson L. Davis of Richlands.
She was preceded in death by her father, Patrick Allen Thomas.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marjorie Smith Spencer, 74; service to be Thursday
Marjorie Smith Spencer, 74, of Cape Carteret, died Monday at her home.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cape Carteret Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Robert Oltman officiating.
Born in White Plains, N.Y., Mrs. Spencer was reared in Westchester County, N.Y.
She moved to Cape Carteret in 1986.
Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Cape Carteret Garden Club and Star Hill Golf Club.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Howard V. Spencer; two daughters, Susan Spencer of Stafford, Va., and Deborah Gulick and husband Robert of Thornwood, N.Y.; a son, Howard V. Spencer, Jr. and wife Gina of Raleigh; three sisters, Bette Fairbrother of Miami, Fla., Dot Archer of Katonah, N.Y., and Amy Yucaneer of White Plains, N.Y.; and four grandchildren.

Irma G. May, 87, of Beaufort, died Monday at Carteret General Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Rowe and the Rev. James Gurganus officiating.
Burial will be in Bayview Cemetery, Mill Creek.
Mrs. May was a member of Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Lena Lewis of Beaufort, and Sheila Culpepper of Newport; a son, Bennie Wayne May of Rock Hill, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Bruce Jones of Newport News, Va., Grace Denney of Newport and Bonnie Eubanks of Hampton, Va.; a brother, Hilton Gurganus of Newport; 33 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Retired Master Gunnery Sgt. Donald Lee Rehn, 56, of Newport, died Monday at Carteret General Hospital.
A graveside service, with full military honors, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Oak Memorial Park, Havelock, with Lt. Ray Hunt of the U.S. Navy, officiating.
Mr. Rehn is survived by his wife, Daisy P. Rehn; three daughters, Jennifer R. Brandon of Clarksville, Ark., Rebecca R. Compton of Statesville, Texas, and Crystal R. Frieman of Nashville, Ill.; a son, Theodore Rehn of Indiana; five stepdaughters, Georgette Mayes of Mobile, Ala., Sharon Davis of Newport, Trisha Littlejohn of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Tonya Head and Cherie Velonza, both of Panama City, Fla.; a stepson, James Davis of Broken Bow, Okla; and 21 grandchildren.

William B. Longest, III, 64; service to be Thursday
William Bryan Longest, III, 64, of Beaufort, died Tuesday at Carteret General Hospital.
His funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkview Baptist Church, Morehead City, with the Rev. Freddie Angles officiating.
Burial will be in Carteret Memorial Gardens, Beaufort.
Mr. Longest is survived by his wife, Kathy G. Longest; two daughters, Tina L. Willis and husband Alex of Harkers Island and Debbie L. Roach and husband David of Beaufort; a sister, Nancy L. Dunn and husband J.C. of Chesapeake, Va.; and four grandchildren, David Roach, Jr., Gregory Bryan Willis, Krystal Roach and A.J. Willis.

Doris W. Jobey, 65; service was Feb. 12
Doris W. Jobey, 65, of Everett, Wash., died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at Pacific Hospital, Everett.
She was the sister of Mildred Lockhard and Harold Whealton, both of Morehead City.
Her funeral was Saturday, Feb. 12, at Evergreen Funeral Home of Everett.
Burial was in Hamilton Indian Cemetery, Hamilton, Wash.
In addition to her siblings, Mrs. Jobey is survived by three daughters, Doris Anne Allison of Atlanta, Ga., Clara Reeves of Sanford, and Mary Bernards of Jacksonville; two sons, Kemp P.B. Bonner, III of Winterville, and Harold Bonner of Tacoma, Wash; twelve grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Jobey.

Arthur Leckman White, 79; service was held today
Arthur Leckman White, 79, of Swansboro, died Sunday at High Point Regional Medical Center, High Point.
His funeral was to be at 11 a.m. today at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel, Chadbourn, with the Rev. Ricky Donaldson officiating.
Burial was to be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Swansboro.
He was the son of the late John W. and Lela Jane White.
Mr. White was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Jane Foster of Riverview, Fla.; a sister, Ethel Mae White Lee of Chadbourn; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Tyree White.

Michael Brian Daniels, 44; service to be Thursday
Michael Brian Daniels, 44, of Newport, died Sunday at Carteret General Hospital.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Grady Simpson officiating.
Burial will be in Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville.
Mr. Daniels served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1973-1976.
After being discharged, he was employed with Civil Service at Alameda Naval Air Station, Alameda, Calif., until being transferred to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in 1994.
He attended Sound View Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife, Sandra Daniels of Newport; a daughter, Christina Daniels of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sons, Michael Daniels, Jr. of Miramar, Calif., and Dustin Russell Daniels of the home; two sisters, Coral Webber and Martha Joe, both of San Bernardino, Calif., a brother, Robert Oliver, Jr., of Antioch, Calif.; and one grandchild.
