Norma Cornman, 74; service today in Ohio
Norma Mason Mann Cornman, 74, of East Liverpool, Ohio, died Saturday.
She was the sister of Lala Godwin of Newport.
Her funeral was to be at 11 a.m. today at Dawson Funeral Home, East Liverpool, Ohio, with the Rev. Kevin Bockus officiating.
Mrs. Cornman was born Feb. 6, 1927, to the late Avery Lee and Prudy Mann.
She had lived in East Liverpool since the early 1940s.
In addition to her sister, she is survived by her fiance, Walter Raniolo; four daughters, Linda Cornman of Wellsville, Ohio, Marlene Walton of Calcutta, Ohio, and Arlene Merritt and Sharon Fraser, both of East Liverpool, Ohio; a son, Steven Cornman of East Liverpool, Ohio; a brother, Julian Mann of Newton Grove; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis W. Cornman; a son, Francis W. Cornman, Jr. and four brothers.
Arrangements were by Dawson Funeral Home of East Liverpool, Ohio.

Rance Arhaine Terry, 65; service to be Thursday
Rance Arhaine Terry, 65, of Cape Carteret, died Monday at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune.
A graveside service will be held at noon Thursday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
Father Donald Baribeau will officiate.
Mr. Terry is survived by his wife, Misae Oka Terry; a daughter, Marsha Thihuru of Clinton; a son, Robert Aaron Terry of the home; a sister, Lucy Sue Terry of Moulton, Ala.; and a brother, John N. Terry of Moulton, Ala.

Walter I. Smith, 73, of Newport, died Wednesday at Britthaven of Newport.
His funeral was to be at 2 p.m. today at Munden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Outland officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a member of Newport Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Smith; a daughter, Carolyn Dixon of Mill Creek; a sister, Sally Gould of Newport; three brothers, Manley Smith of Newport, Mitchell Smith of Morehead City and A.G. Smith of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Walrath is survived by her husband, Walter M. Walrath; two daughters, Pauline M. Foster of Midwest City, Okla., and Patricia Jane Walrath of Minneapolis, Minn.; a son, Peter J. Walrath of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, F. Nancy Kilmer of New York; and three grandchildren.

Rena Pearl Hamilton Nobles, 86, of Morehead City, died Friday at home.
A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, at Bayview Cemetery, with the Rev. Marc Werner officiating.
Mrs. Nobles is survived by a daughter, Margaret Nobles Scibeck and husband Richard of Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Eliza Nobles Worthington and husband Bob of Kinston; a son, John Everett Nobles, Jr. and wife Emily of Morehead City; seven grandchildren, Charles Cansler, Richard Scibeck, Jr., A.L. Hamilton Nobles, Emily "Emmy" Nobles, John Everett Nobles, III, Rena Worthington Davis and Joshua Robert Worthington; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Everett Nobles; her parents, Eliza Farrow McWilliams Hamilton and Alvah Lawrence Hamilton; and a brother, Dr. Alvah L. Hamilton, Jr.

David Brock, 83, Havelock; funeral scheduled Monday
David Brock, 83, of Havelock, father of Kenneth Wayne Brock and Linda Faye Best of Newport, died Friday at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
Mr. Brock, retired from civil service, was a member of Croatan Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and was also a member of Newport Moose Lodge.
His funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Croatan Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Harry Bryan and the Rev. Michael Ledbetter officiating.
Burial will follow in Winterville Cemetery.
In addition to Kenneth Wayne Brock and Linda Faye Best, Mr. Brock is survived by his wife, Sarah Brown Smith Brock of Havelock; sons David Earl Brock of Amarillo, Tex., and Ronald Allen Brock of Wilmington; another daughter, Patricia Ann Gatlin of Leland; a brother, Roy Lee "Dick" Brock of Greenville; four sisters, Runell Brock Guthrie of Highland, Ill., Alice Brock Sutton of Greenville, Lossie Brock Edwards of Grimesland, and Cornelia Brock Barton of Washington; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
