Crownover
James C. "Jim" Crownover, 63, of Cape Carteret, died June 28 at Carteret General Hospital.
Services will take place at a later date.
He was a member of St. Mildred Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, the Disabled American Veterans and the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary.
Survivors include his wife, Jan Crownover; two daughters, Cynthia A. Noto and Debra A. McLane, both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; a sister, Maudie Mae Hammerle of Pittsburgh; three brothers, George Crownover of Virginia and Jack Crownover and Mack Crownover, both of Missouri; and three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Ritchie
Retired Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Harold Cleston Ritchie, 67, of Hubert, died June 27 at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern.
Graveside services were Monday at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, with Chaplain Jim Maaco officiating.
He was a Vietnam veteran, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps. .
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans for 27 years, and was past commander and adjutant of the DAV.
He was a master Mason with 32nd degree, a Shriner, and a past Master of the Semper Fidelis Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ritchie.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Ritchie of Bakersfield, Calif.; two daughters, Joanie Ritchie of McFarland, Calif., and Sharon Ritchie of Los Angeles; three brothers, Leroy Ritchie of Oklahoma City, and Charlie Ritchie and Gary Ritchie, both of Frenso, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

Kleinberg
Ralph A. Kleinberg, 57, of Emerald Isle, died June 25 at his home.
A memorial service will take place at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Angela of Emerald Isle; two daughters, Jennifer Kleinberg of New York City and Candace Bruno of Emerald Isle; a son, Jeffrey Kleinberg of Union, N.J.; and a sister, Beverly Van Cleef of Princeton, N.J.
He retired to Emerald Isle, from Berkeley Heights, N.J., four years ago, after a career with the U.S. government in New York.
He was an active member in the Emerald Isle EMS.

Busbee
Shirley Busbee, 62, of Cordova, Ala., died June 14.
She was the sister of Bobbi Ward of Swansboro.
Services were June 17 at Crestview Memorial.
Burial followed at McDade Cemetery.
She was a poet, song writer and an artist.
Other survivors include two sons, Jimmy Busbee of Pleasant Grove, Ala., and Tony Busbee of Birmingham, Ala.; her mother, Mattie Lou Delay of Cordova; four brothers, James Delay of Wetumpka, Ala., Ron Delay and Larry Delay, both of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Jerry Delay of Cordova; and two grandchildren.

Gibbs
Roy Pierce Gibbs, 38, of Jacksonville, died Monday at Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was the father of Michael Pierce Gibbs and Lyn Renee Gibbs, both of Hubert.
Services will take place Thursday at 3 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with the Rev. Matt Riley officiating.
Other survivors include his parents, Huey and Rose M. Gibbs of Ocala, Fla.; four brothers, David Gibbs of Lake Wroth, Fla., Jonathan Gibbs of MacClenney, Fla., Robert Gibbs of Canton, Mich., and Dan Gibbs of Beaverton, Mich.; and two sisters, Cynthia Hislop of Citrus Springs, Fla., and Lisa Gibbs of Ocala.

Bixby
Robert Raymond Bixby, 65, of Hubert, died Saturday at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital.
Services were today (Wednesday) at Jones Funeral Home in Swansboro, with the Rev. Terry Golden officiating.
Burial followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Bixby of the home; a son, Robert Bixby, Jr. of the home; three daughters, Tammy Taylor and Mary McGibney, both of Hubert, and Susan Coyle of Richlands; and seven grandchildren.

Hise
Glenn Hise, Jr., 68, of Swansboro, died Friday at Johnston County Hospital.
A memorial service will take place Sunday at the VFW Hall in Swansboro, at 2 p.m. with Deacon Don Robertson and the VFW Chaplain officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
A retired Navy veteran, he served as a radarman during World War II and the Korean War.
He was also a retired postal worker.
Survivors include his long-time companion, Margaret B. Meadows of the home; and three brothers, Billy Hise, Curtis Hise, Bobby Hise and Mike Hise, all of Spruce Pine.

Maready
Bertie Maie Maready, 93, of Richlands, died Thursday at Country Sunshine Rest Home.
She was the mother of Loyce M. Norris of Hubert.
Services were Saturday at Johnson Funeral Home in Richlands, with the Rev. Roy Parker officiating.
Burial followed at Onslow Memorial Park.
Other survivors include another daughter, Joyce M. Jones of Grifton; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Spivey
Frances Bost Spivey of Washington, died Aug. 2 at Beaufort County Hospital.
She was the mother of Patricia Spivey Davis of Swansboro.
A memorial service took place Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Washington, with the Revs. Raymond Wittman and Billy Olsen officiating.
She was a member of DeMille Book Club, Washington Park Garden Club and chairperson of the Landscape Committee of the First United Methodist Church, where she served as past president of the United Methodist Women.
Other survivors include her husband, Col. David W. Spivey; a son, David W. Spivey, IV of Fayetteville; and one grandchild.

McGee
Elizabeth F. "Betty" McGee, 98, of Greensboro, died Aug. 1.
She was the mother of Louise Elizabeth Wilkins of Swansboro.
A memorial service will take place in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church in September.
She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was an active member of the ladies Sunday School class.
She served many years as a volunteer at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary.
Other survivors include two sons, Julian Murrill McGee, Jr. of Akron, Ohio, and James "Jim" Whitfield McGee of Greensboro; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
