ROY S. PRICE

Roy Sigmon Price, 72, of Hickory, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Catawba Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 5, 1927, in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Glenn and Clara Sigmon Price.
A member of Highland United Methodist Church, he was owner and operator of Price Well Drilling, Inc. for 50 years.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served with the Marines during World War II.
He also was a member of the National Ground Water Association, North Carolina Groundwater Association and Catawba Valley Rifle Range.
He was an honored professional in the 2000 edition of the national register of "Who's Who Executives and Professionals".
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Woody Price; three brothers, Clyde Price, Floyd Price and Clarence Price; two sisters, Pearl P. Hollar and Betty Lou Price; a grandson, Dr. Phillip P. Callison, II; and a great-grandson, Andrew David Reitzel.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Polly Gillespie Price; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy C. and Teresa Lowman Price of Hickory, and Robert C. and Kay Gilpin Price of Claremont; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Judy and David Hollar Mull of Morganton, Kay Price Witherspoon Carswell and Jean and David Price Gay of Hickory, and Ann and Phil Price Callison of Campbellsville, Ky.; four sisters, Clarene P. Gregg, Glenola P. Witherspoon and Ruth P. Jenkins of Hickory, and Edith P. Turner of Charlotte; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Jim Church and Everette Price at 2 p.m. Monday at his church.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Allen L. Carswell, James H. Carswell, Jimmy J. Carswell, Ryan Price Callison, Matthew Charles Price and Todd A. Cline.
The family will be at Hickory Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.
Memorials may be made to Highland United Methodist Church, Family Enrichment Center, 1020 Twelfth St. Place, NE, Hickory, N.C. 28601; or Southside Freewill Baptist Church, 4522 N.C. 127 South, Building Fund, Hickory, N.C. 28601.

RUBY D. SETZER

CONOVER - Ruby Arvella Duncan Setzer, of Fifth Avenue, NE, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Catawba Memorial Hospital.
Born in Catawba County, she wa s a daughter of the late Mark and Lilly Sipe Duncan.
A member of Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, she retired from Newton Glove.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond D. Setzer; and a brother, the Rev. Gaither Duncan.
Survivors include two sons, Ted L. Setzer of Conover, and Ned L. Setzer of Mountain View; a daughter, JoAnn Harper of Hickory; three brothers, Forest Duncan and Maynard Duncan of Newton, and Billy Duncan of Mountain View; three sisters, Elsie Campbell of Maiden, and Pauline Beatty and Flossie Bandy of Newton; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Carroll Bartholomew at 11 a.m. Monday at her church.
Burial will be in Conover City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Setzer, Kelly Setzer, Jody Sims, Tim Setzer, Greg Able and Jerry Setzer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Setzer, Dennis Setzer, Bobby Setzer, Barry Wilson and Brad Davis.
The family will be at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 217 Second Ave., NE, Conover, N.C. 28613.

WAYNE F. HAMPTON

Wayne Ferninand Hampton, 43, of Dundee Court in Maiden, died Aug. 1, 2000, at his residence after a period of declining health.
Born July 16, 1957, in Atlanta, Ga., he was a son of Ollie Revels Hampton of Statesville, and the late Fred Hampton.
A member of Elshaddi Full Gospel Church, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Faye Hampton.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include five sons, Tracy Gore and Wayne Gore of Greensboro, Wayne Hampton, Jr. of Charlotte, Kendrick Hampton of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Troy Gore of Hickory; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles Hampton of Denver, Colo., Gregory and Lizzie Hampton of Atlanta, Ga., and Kenny Hampton of Los Angeles, Calif.; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Beverly and John Coppedge of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Bridgette and Reggie Saddler of Vale; a maternal grandmother, Lula Banks of Hickory; and a number of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Allen Mitchell Funeral Home.
The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

MATTIE J. YOUNCE

Mattie Joan Younce, 69, of County Home Road in Conover, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Catawba Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 2, 1931, in Catawba County, she was a daughter of the late Jennings G. and Georgie Flowers Seagle.
A member of Temple Baptist church, she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Jennings Seagle; and a sister, Ruby Gordon Seagle.
Survivors include her husband, Alan Gilbert Younce; a son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Kathy Younce of Hickory; two daughters and a son-in-law, Darrell and Ann Younce Ratchford of Conover, and Amy Younce Moose of Canton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and a niece, Melissa Seagle Sigmon of Maryland.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Revs. Daniel G. Tilley and Michael Staton at 5 p.m. today at her church.
The family will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, Youth Ministry Program, 825 Lenoir-Rhyne Blvd., Hickory, N.C. 28602.
Bass-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

DORAN E. DAMERON

GRANITE FALLS - Doran Evan Dameron, 45, of Forest Hill Court, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Valdese General Hospital.
Born June 25, 1955, in Catawba County, he was a son of Gwyn Dameron of Hildebran, and JoAnn Price Dameron of Granite Falls.
He attended Granite-Rhodhiss Church of God and was self-employed in auto body shop repair in Connelly Springs.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Estelle Dameron; two grandfathers; and two grandmothers.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a brother, Clyde Dameron of Granite Falls; three sisters, Alfreda D. Link and Tammy Dameron of Granite Falls, and Vickie Shoun of Lenoir; a half sister, Tammy R. Johnson of Houston, Texas; a stepdaughter, Brandy White of Florida; and a number of uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Randall Phillips at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Granite-Rhodhiss Church of God.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery in Lenoir.
The family will be at Mackie-High Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.

AUDREY L. JORDAN

TAYLORSVILLE - Audrey Lea Lunsford Jordan, 70, of Statesville, died Aug. 5, 2000, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Born June 15, 1930, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Ray L. and Nell Cass Lunsford.
A member of new Prospect Baptist Church, she was a Sunday school teacher.
A homemaker, she was co-owner and operator of Jordan's Texaco for 32 years.
She was preceded in death by her twin granddaughters.
Survivors include her husband for 46 years, Leonard Harold Jordan; a son and daughter-in-law, Harold K. and Sandra Jordan of Statesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy J. and Ricky D. Sparks of Statesville; three brothers, Jack Lunsford, Allen Lunsford and Clay Lunsford of Statesville; three sisters, Geraldine Prevette, Betty Lou Gregory and Rose Annette Prevette of Statesville; five grandchildren, Benjamin Philip Sparks, Joshua Kent Jordan, Noah Harold Sparks, Sarah Katherine Jordan and Aaron Matthew Jordan of Statesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Mark Robinette, Ronnie Millsaps and Allie Walker at 11 a.m. Monday at her church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Millsaps, Wesley Prevette, Joe Prevette, Joey Prevette, Dwayne Lunsford, Maurice Lunsford and Scott Lunsford.
The family will be at the church from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight.

DANNY O. WILLIAMS

VALDESE - Danny Odell Williams, 49, of Ribet Avenue, died Aug. 3, 200, at Valdese General Hospital after a period of declining health.
Born Oct. 3, 1950, in Burke County, he was a son of the late Odell P. and Vida Williams Richardson.
He was an employee of Great Lakes Carbon Corp.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Faye.
Survivors include his wife, Angela Deal Williams; two daughters, Lydia W. Roark of Drexel, and Odessa W. Legters of Valdese; a sister, Marie E. Richardson of Morganton; a granddaughter, Danielle Renee Legters of Valdese; and two nieces.
The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Jerry Tow and Robbie Hullette at 4 p.m. Monday at Heritage Funeral Service.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight.

MARY M. COOK

MORGANTON - Mary Ethel Moody Cook, 90, of Cook Road in Valdese, died Aug. 5, 2000, at Valdese General Hospital after a period of declining death.
Born May 14, 1910, in Burke County, she was a daughter of the late William S. and Annie Cooper Moody.
She was a member of High peak Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Ervin Moody; and a grandson, Boyd S. Whisnant.
Survivors include her husband, Sam C. Cook; two daughters and sons-in-law, Annie M. and Melvin Whisnant and Azalee and Ralph Deal of Valdese; a two great-grandchildren, Scott Franklin of Valdese, and Tammy Whisnant of Morganton; and four great-great-grandchildren, Tyler Franklin, Jasmine Avery, Christopher Avery and Teagan Lipsey.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. James Sessions at 2 p.m. Monday at Sossoman Funeral Home.
Burial will be in High Peak Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 tonight and at her residence at other times.

WILLIAM G. HATLEY

LENOIR - William Gene Hatley, 77, of Largo Lane in Hudson, died Aug. 4, 2000, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 15, 1922, in Caldwell County, he was a son of the late William F. and Lucy Hartley Hatley.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was employed by Joan Fabric in Hickory, and a lifetime member of American Legion.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James Hatley.
Survivors include his wife, Marvene Benfield Hatley; a son, Douglas W. Hatley of Dahlonega, Ga.; a daughter, Cheryl Knight of Eden; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted by the Revs. Nicky Waters and Mark Dula at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Poovey's Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will be at the funeral home 30 minutes prior to the service.

GEORGIA W. McGRADY

MORGANTON - Georgia Willis McGrady, 64, of Grandview Circle in Lenoir, died Aug. 3, 2000, at Grace Hospital after a brief illness.
Born Mar. 19, 1936, in Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late Joe H. and Carrie Hester Bivens.
A former supervisor at Broughton Hospital, she was also a former employee of Caldwell Manor.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dwight Willis; second husband, Clarence McGrady; and a daughter, Sandra Hudson.
Survivors include a son, Michael Willis of Lenoir; two daughters, Doris Dillingham of Morganton, and Rita King Sigmon of Polkville; three sisters, Ruth Randall of Cherryville, and Betty Reynolds and Ponese Scronce of Lincolnton; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Billy Mace at 2 p.m. today at Sossoman Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
