GARLAND - Bonnie Bell Robinson, 84, of 292 Cain Road, died Thursday, June 6 [2002].
The funeral was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Galilee Holiness Church, by Pastor Elbert Flower.
Burial was in the Community Cemetery.
She is survived by three sons, Eddie F. Robinson and Preston Robinson, both of Garland, and Samuel Robinson of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four daughters, Estelle Robinson of Garland, Margie Breeden of Fayetteville, Wattie D. Ingram of Roseboro, and Lucy L. James of Raleigh; 32 grandchildren, 103 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

LILLIE E. PRIEST
CLARKTON - Lillie E. Priest, 90, died Monday, June 3 [2002], at Woodhaven Nursing Center in Lumberton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Priest.
A graveside service was held Thursday at 11 a.m., at Bladen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Michael Thompson officiating.
She is survived by a daughter, Faye P. Lanier of Chadbourn; two sons, Kerry L. Priest of Clarkton and Donnie R. Priest of Rocky Point; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

DAVID T. AYERS
ELIZABETHTOWN - David T. Ayers died Friday, June 7 [2002], at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
He was 73.
Mr. Ayers retired as vice-president of Wachovia Bank in Elizabethtown in 1990, after 39 years service with Wachovia and its local predecessor, the Bank of Elizabethtown.
He had attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
Mr. Ayers was treasurer of the Bladen County Chapter of the American Heart Association for 25 years; was chairman and secretary/treasurer of the Bladen County Chapter of the American Red Cross for 20 years; was a past president of the Bladen County Cancer Society; was a past president of the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce; was past president of the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club and a member of the Legion of Honor; was past chairman of Group VI of the North Carolina Bankers Association; and was the U. S. Savings Bond Chairman for Bladen County.
In addition, Mr. Ayers had served as a member of the Morehead Scholarship Nomination Committee for Bladen and Columbus Counties.
He was a Deacon, Elder and Sunday School teacher at the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran, having served on active duty from 1947 to 1950, and was in the U.S. Navy Reserves from 1950 to 1954.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church, conducted by Dr. Bill Young.
Mr. Ayers is survived by his wife, Melrose Ayers; a son, David T. Ayers, Jr., of Fayetteville; a daughter, Kathy Sasser of Goldsboro; two brothers, E. W. Ayers of St. Pauls and James C. Ayers of Columbus, Ohio; one sister, Margaret White of Raleigh; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday following the memorial service.

CLARENDON - Robbie Jean Ward of 2435 Jim Jolly Road, died Thursday in an automobile accident.
She was 41.
The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, at Lewis-Bowen Funeral Home Chapel in Bladenboro.
Burial was in the Community Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Ward is survived by her husband, Ricky Ward, Sr.; two sons, Ricky Ward, Jr., and Jonathon T. Ward, both of the home; two stepsons, Michael Ward and Richard L. Ward, both of Loris, S. C.; her mother, Emma Jean Packer of Elizabethtown; and two brothers, Allen Packer and Stacy Packer, both of Elizabethtown.

MALCOLM GLENN SINGLETARY
BLADENBORO - Malcolm Glenn Singletary of 500 Old Abbottsburg Road, died Thursday, October 10 [2002], at his residence.
He was 68.
Mr. Singletary worked with Belks Department Stores for 50, and served as store manager in Whiteville, for 34 years before retiring.
He was a member of the Abbottsburg Baptist Church and the Whiteville Lions Club.
The funeral will be conducted at the Abbottsburg Baptist Church Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Revs. J. S. (Bud) Parrish and Bruce Cannon officiating.
Burial will be in the McKinnon Cemetery of Abbottsburg.
Mr. Singletary is survived by his wife, Sylvia Yarborough Singletary; a son, Malcolm Glenn Singletary, Jr. of Chapel Hill; a daughter, Lois Marie Singletary of Bladenboro; a brother, R. Jennings Singletary of Goose Creek; and two sisters, Doris S. Vines of Elizabethtown and Judith S. McLaurin of Fayetteville.

BLADENBORO - Joseph Ross Bass, 71, of 303 Byrd Street, died Saturday, December 14 [2002], at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.
The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m., at White Oak Freewill Baptist Church, by the Rev. Bobby Carden.
Burial will be in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam Bass; four daughters, Barbara Bryan and Patricia McKnight, both of Bladenboro, Freda McLean of Florida, and Sue Coward of Welcome; two sons, Joseph Bass of Darlington, S.C., and Albert Dewayne Bass of Chadbourn; one sister, Evelyn Sykes of Clarkton; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 till 9 p.m., at White Oak Freewill Baptist Church.

WHITEVILLE - Dewey B. Weatherford, 48, of Pleasant Plains Church Road, died Monday, July 22 [2002].
The funeral was conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn, by the Rev. Charles Cribb.
Burial was in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Weatherford is survived by his wife, Sheila G. Weatherford; two sons, Billy C. Weatherford of Whiteville and Jimmy D. Grainer of Chadbourn; two sisters, Nancy W. Allen of Whiteville and Judy W. Mathis of Elizabethtown; a brother, Billy B. Weatherford of Statesville; and a grandchild.
ROBERT PRESTON NEISLER, SR.
COUNCIL - Robert Preston Neisler, Sr., 66, died Wednesday, October 9 [2002], at home.
Mr. Neisler was part owner of Chesterfield Yarn Mills in Pageland, South Carolina, and served as its president from 1959 to 2000.
He was also part owner of Oakland Plantation Turf Farm in Council.
Mr. Neisler is survived by his wife, Mary Ham Neisler, of Wilmington; three sons, Preston Neisler and Matthew Neisler, both of Pageland, SC, and Chris Neisler of Mayer, Arizona; a sister, Betty Timberlake of Lake Waccamaw; two brothers, Joe Neisler of Lake Waccamaw, and Hugh Neisler of Pageland, SC, and five grandchildren.
A private graveside service was held on, Friday, October 11 at Mt. Horeb Cemetery in Council.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

FAYE HUGGINS ELMORE
ELIZABETHTOWN - Faye Huggins Elmore, 82, died Friday, December 13 [2002], at Bladen County Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmore.
She was a manager for Sear in Washington, D.C., for 40 years, before returning to Elizabethtown.
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Kinlaw Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Elks officiating.
Burial was in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Berline Gallehugh, and her nieces, Dorothy Foss of Elizabethtown, and Sandy Hurley of Fayetteville.
