KANNAPOLIS - Beatrice Helms Weddington Sprinkle, 87, formerly of West 16th St., Kannapolis, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Big Elm Retirement Center.

Mrs. Sadie Tucker
CHARLOTTE - Sadie Conner Tucker, of Charlotte, died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at her residence.
She was born Feb. 22, 1910, in Cabarrus County, N.C., a daughter of the late Walter and Mary McEachern Conner.
She was a homemaker and a member of Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, the Joy Outlook Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl B. Tucker, co-owner of the former Mitcheum & Tucker Candy Co. and four brothers, Clarence Conner, Newt Conner, Ernest Conner, and Ira Conner.
Funeral services for Mrs. Tucker will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hawthorne Lane United Methodist Church, 501 Hawthorne Lane, with the Rev. James M. Armstrong, Jr. and the Rev. Jeff Coppage officiating.
Entombment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. tonight at Harry & Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Road.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by two sisters, Anna "Jackie" Dixon and her husband, Weston, of Charlotte and Mary Lee Abernethy of Midland, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry & Bryant Co. is serving the family of Mrs. Tucker.
Mrs. Rachel Alford
RALEIGH - Rachel Pearce Alford, 77, of 2300 Beechridge Road, Raleigh, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000, following six years of declining health.
She was born in Pilot, Franklin County, and was a charter member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she served faithfully.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Floyd Shelby Alford, two daughters, Beverly of Burlington, and Annette and her husband Jack Garvey of Greensboro, and daughter-in-law. Julia Webb Alford of Kannapolis.
She was preceded in death by her son, Floyd Alford, Jr., her parents Corinna and Clyde Pearce and sister LaRue Hudgins.
She has five grandchildren, Zack, Meredith and Benjamin Alford of Kannapolis, and Jack, Jr. and Charlotte Garvey of Greensboro, two brothers, James and David Pearce of Pilot, three sisters, Cherrie Averitt of Raleigh, Louise Griffin of Elizabeth City, and Teenie Wilder of Louisburg.
Sincere appreciation goes to all who have helped in so many ways during her illness and especially to caregivers Mildred Johnson, Annie Gay, Alton and Willowdean Strickland.
Funeral services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 2100 Noble Road, Raleigh, at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
The family will receive friends in the vestibule following the service and other times at the home.
Graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. at the Alford-Upchurch cemetery in Pilot.
Following the service, the family will receive friends in the Pilot Baptist Church annex.

KANNAPOLIS - Ruby Furr Bernard, 78, of 718 Margate Ave., Kannapolis, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at her home.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wilkinson funeral Home.

Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 3, 1922, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Lester James and Iva Brines Furr.
She was a member of Rocky River Presbyterian Church and was retired from 7-11 convenience stores.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Joan B. Shuster and husband Rick of Kannapolis; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

KANNAPOLIS - Betty Jane Besig, 72, of 211 Carwen Court, Kannapolis, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born April 6, 1928, in Syracuse, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late William Hard and Florence Sterling Hard.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, John A. Besig; a daughter, Sandra Fleegel of Kannapolis; a son, John A. Besig, Jr. of Kannapolis; two brothers, Clarence Hard of East Syracuse, N.Y., and Alfred Hard of North Port, Fla.; and one grandchild, Andrea Fleegel of Kannapolis.

SALISBURY - Samuel Lee Cruse, 54, died Monday at Brightmoor Nursing Home.

SALISBURY- Terina A. Thompson Ford, 38, of 1614 Standish St., Apt. 9-B, Salisbury, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, where she was a former member.

Burial will be at Rutherford Cemetery, Concord.

STANFIELD - Grady Lee Love, 79, of 8556 Honeycutt Rd., Stanfield, died Aug. 14, 2000, at 6:08 p.m. at his home.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Hartsell Funeral Chapel in Midland.
Burial will be at Kinza Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born July 28, 1921, in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Lonnie S. and Ethel Scott Love.
He was a retired carpenter and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ruth Troutman Love.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Vicky L. Smith and her husband, Steve, of Sunset Beach; four brothers, Bob, Clyde, Wayne, and Brown Love all of Stanfield; two sisters, Mrs. Peggy Long of Stanfield, and Mrs. Carolyn Carlise of Concord; two grandchildren, Stephanie Teeter and Kelly Howard; and two great-grandchildren, Bryan Howard and Kristyn Osbourne.
