Mrs. Lydia Curry
KANNAPOLIS -- Lydia "Miss Sweetie" Benson Curry, 95, formerly of 201 James St., Kannapolis, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001, at Avante at Concord.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Marable Memorial AME Zion Church. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Grant Harrison Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the church. At other times, they will be at the home of her son, Robert Curry, at 245 Esther Circle, Kannapolis.
Born July 6, 1906, in Lancaster, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert Benson and Jency Johnson Benson. She was a member of the missionary board of Marable Memorial AME Zion Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Senella Outen and Delores Murdock, both of Kannapolis, and Adelaide Barnes of Charlotte; two sons, Robert Curry and Paul Curry, both of Kannapolis; 23 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Bryant-Lytle-Young of Kannapolis, is serving the Curry family.
Mrs. Ruby Moose
CONCORD -- Ruby Irene Ballard Moose, 76, of 360 Burrage Road, N.E., died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at her home.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Robert Leonard and the Rev. Terry Penland will officiate.
Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.

Born Sept. 21, 1925, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late William Alex and Viola Blalock Ballard.
She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tommie King Moose; two daughters, Sandra Moose Deese and Kathie Moose Loflin, both of Concord; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Daisy "Hon" Barnes
KANNAPOLIS -- Daisy Lee "Hon" Barnes, 85, of Five Oaks Nursing Center and formerly of 110 Waco St., Kannapolis, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The Rev. Ronald E. Miller will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 3:30 p.m. at the church. At other times, they will be at the home on Waco Street.
Born June 22, 1916, in Lancaster County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Wardlow Williams and the late Lillie Stewart Williams. She was a homemaker of private homes. She was a former member of the David Strand A.M.E. Zion Church of Lancaster, S.C., and a member of Rock Hill A.M.E. Zion Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ike Barnes Jr.
Survivors include two sons, James Richard Barnes and Robert Lee Barnes, both of Kannapolis; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Mae Adams of Lancaster, S.C., and Hattie Massey of Kannapolis; a brother, Thomas Massey of Kannapolis; a brother-in-law, Tommie Archie of Kannapolis; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Mark Lambert
CONCORD -- Mark Monroe Lambert, 43, of 188 Alberta Court, Concord, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in China Grove. The Rev. Bob Overcash will officiate.

Born June 27, 1958, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Frank Lambert and Jo Ann Wall Lambert of Concord. He was a fork lift operator at Pass & Seymour/Legrand. Mark was met in heaven by his twin grandbuddies Brandon Lee, Matthew James Lambert, and a sister Pam Jeffcoat. In 1970, the family moved to Orangeburg, S.C. It was here that he met and married the late Sebrina Gartman. He moved back to the Concord-Charlotte area in the 1980s. He worked for Graystone Restaurant for many years. He moved back to Concord, with his new bride Cyndee Lambert in 1993. He worked in the distribution department of Pass & Seymour/Legrand. He leaves behind many cherished co-workers that became like a second family to him. Mark had a beautiful soul and will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Cynthia Godfrey Lambert of the home; his son, Mark Lee and his wife Stephanie of China Grove; his daughter, Shanna L. Etheridge and her husband Jamie of Orangeburg, S.C.; his grandmother, Elizabeth Wall Overcash of Concord; a brother, Mike Lambert of Concord; two sisters, Amy Sehorn and Karen Beal, both of Concord; and grandbuddies Alex Taylor Lambert, Jonathan Caleb Lambert, Christopher Jams Sutcliffe and Nathan Etheridge.

KANNAPOLIS -- Patty Anne Hart Murray, 88, of 536 Kiser Avenue, Kannapolis, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center after several years of declining health.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kannapolis West A Street Church of God. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Sam Crisp and Matthew Beaver will officiate. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Born March 10, 1913, in Franklin County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late D.H. Hart and the late Effie Lou Partain Hart. She was employed with Cannon Mills Co., Plant #1, Sewing Room for 40 years until her retirement in 1975. She was a member of Kannapolis West A Street Church of God and a resident of Kannapolis, since 1941. She volunteered at Big Elm Retirement & Nursing Center in Kannapolis, for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Murray Sr.
Survivors include her son, Willie Murray and his wife, Cecil of Kannapolis; and three sisters, Elizabeth Ballard of Kannapolis, and Frances Bell and Ruby Bryant, both of Royston, Ga.

CONCORD -- Edna "Bill" Cline Rogers, 80, of 1262 Old Charlotte Rd. S.W., Concord, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center, after declining health for five years.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at SouthSide Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born Aug. 17, 1921, in Cabarrus County, she was the son of the late Leroy A. and Bertha Hahn Cline.
She was the retired owner of Rogers Beauty Shop after 30 years.
She was a member of SouthSide Baptist Church and a graduate of Southern Beauty College and Richardson's School of Beauty Culture, both in Charlotte.
She was preceded in death her husband, Daniel "Dan" James Rogers, who died in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. June R. Robbins and husband A.C. of Concord; her son, Sonny Rogers and wife Nancy of Concord; her sister, Mrs. Audrey C. Hinson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; her brother, Eddie L. Cline and wife Betty of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Todd Robbins and Chandra Patterson; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Smith.
Survivors include her foster daughter, Mrs. Phyliss Williamson of Concord; a number of nieces and nephews; and a foster granddaughter, Beth Barker.

Mrs. Nancy Stewart
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Nancy McAllister Stewart, 82, of Marietta, Ga., died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001, in Georgia.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity at 1500 S. Main St., Mount Pleasant. Burial will follow in St. James UCC Cemetery, Walnut St., Mount Pleasant. Pastor Pam Isley will officiate.
Mrs. Stewart was born April 12, 1919, the daughter of the late John and Myrtie McAllister. She married Ivan Stewart in 1945 and they lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, raising three sons. Nancy was a homemaker, worked as a surgical nurse at Epp Memorial Hospital in Cincinnati, and was an active member of Roselawn Lutheran Church. Following her retirement she moved to Marietta, Ga., and lived there with her family until her death.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Harmon, Joe, George, Jake and Alec, and by one sister, Frances.
Survivors include sons John Bikle and wife Barbara Stewart of Smyra, Ga. and their son Scott; Dean and wife Gretchen Stewart of Moscow, Idaho and their children and grandchildren, Benjamin and Elizabeth Stewart, Forrest and Justin of Holden Village, Washington, Jacob and Wendy Stewart-Gilmer of Frankfort, Germany and Luke Stewart of San Francisco, Calif.; Robert and wife Pauline Stewart of Marietta, Ga. and their children Mac, Elizabeth, and John of Marietta, Ga.; her sister Genevieve Poplin of Mt. Pleasant; and a brother, Larry McAllister and wife Edna of Graham.
