Mrs. Louise Newton
CONCORD -- Louise Emma Moose Newton, 79, of Concord, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Five Oaks Nursing Home.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
The Rev. Tom Whidden will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to the time of service at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 18, 1922, in Sparta, Ga., she was the daughter of the late James A. and Mattie Jones Moose.
She was a homemaker and a member of First Assembly Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. "Buck" Newton.
Survivors include two sisters, Helen Hartley of Leisure City, Fla., and Dorothy Preslar of Albemarle; four brothers, Ralph G. "Bill" Moose and wife Joyce and Cecil Moose, all of Concord, Paul Moose of Charlotte, and George Moose of North Augusta, S.C.; and many loyal and loving friends.
The family wishes to thank her friends from First Assembly Church, who visited and cheered her up on a regular basis.
Wilkinson Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for Mrs. Newton.
Mrs. Paulette Widenhouse
STANFIELD -- Paulette Hall Widenhouse, 57, of 8516 Hwy. 200, Stanfield, died Wednesday, November 14, 2001 as the result of an automobile accident.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Miami Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The Rev. Chris Hawks and Rev. C.J. Bordeaux will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at Gordon Funeral Home.
Mrs. Widenhouse was born Oct. 22, 1944.
She is the daughter of the late James Linker and Peggy Efird Linker.
She was a member of Miami Baptist Church.
Her husband was the late Morris B. Widenhouse who died June 17, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, James Widenhouse of Stanfield, and Mick Widenhouse of Monroe, and one grandchild, Ellen Widenhouse.
Memorials should be directed to a children's charity of the donor's choice.

Cameron Eric Gray
CONCORD -- Cameron Eric Gray, infant son of Nathan and Melissa Gray, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell's Funeral Home on Monday, from 2 to 3:30 p.m.
A private graveside service will immediately follow at 4 p.m.
Pastor Ralph Hager will officiate.
Survivors include his parents; one brother, Dylan Gray of Concord; two half-brothers, Matthew Gray, and Ryan Gray, both of Mt. Pleasant; his grandparents, Richard and Laura Severt of Concord, Rev. David and Lieu Via Gray of Newton; his great-grandparents, Mrs. Nancy Lieu Mabe of Virginia, Mr. & Mrs. Rufus Gary, Sr. of Kentucky, Mr. & Mrs. Paul Severt of Mt. Holly, and Mr. & Mrs. Walt Budde of Illinois.
Other survivors include his godparents, Lt. Eric Dennis and wife Angela K. Dennis of Germany; his aunts, Lisa, Ashlyn and Rikki Severt; and his uncle, Mr. Michael Gary and fiance Sandra Azevado.
Cecil Barnard Lanning
CONCORD -- Mrs. Cecil Barnard Christy Lanning, 87, of 1700 N. Atlantic Ave., Cocoa Beach, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
Inurnment will be at Florida Memorial Gardens in Cocoa Beach.
The Rev. Allen Brindici will officiate.
The family will receive friends from one hour prior to services at Whitley's funeral home.
Born Jun. 24, 1914, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Curtis Barnard and the late Cennie Brown Barnard.
She worked at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, and had lived in Florida, for the last 15 years.
She was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Cocoa Beach.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Homer Joanne Christy of Cocoa Beach; her brother, Quentin Barnard of Gold Hill; her sister, Sarah Bost of Greenbelt, Md.; her three grandchildren Shari Evetts, Michael Ennis and Amy Wilson; her four great-grandchildren; and her one great-greatgrandchild.

Frances Garrett McCoy
CONCORD -- Mrs. Frances G. McCoy, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Central United Methodist Church.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born Mar. 4, 1917, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Mary Scoggins Garrett.
She worked at Ret. Robinson, Inc. and as a homemaker.
She was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte, was a member of Central United Methodist Church and a member of the Estaline Clark Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. McCoy.
Survivors include her three sons, Nelson McCoy of Fayetteville, Robert McCoy of Lexington, and David McCoy of Kannapolis; her two sisters, Beth Fisher of Landrum, S.C., and Estelle Howard of Tryon; her brother, Bill Garrett of Charlotte; her three grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren.

Jimmy Ray Featherstone
SALINAS, Calif. -- Mr. Jimmy Ray Featherstone, 44, of Salinas, Calif., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at Valley Medical Center in San Jose, Calif.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Carolina Memorial Park Chapel, and burial will follow there.
Born Dec. 10, 1956, in Salisbury, he was the son of John J. Featherstone of Gold Hill, and Doris Holshouser of Kannapolis.
He worked as a property manager.
He went to California in 1998 and was an avid hunter.
He enjoyed watching drag racing, the outdoors and fishing.
He was also a member of the North American Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Christine Ponizo Featherstone of Salinas; his daughters, Brandi Howard of Kannapolis, and Monica Noriega of Salinas; and his grandson, Damien Howard of Kannapolis.

KANNAPOLIS -- Mr. Mark Wendell Argo, 45, of 711 Darty St., Kannapolis, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at his home.

Born May 10, 1956, in El Paso, Tex., he was the son of Don Argo and Nancy Lisk Argo of Kannapolis.
He was self-employed in construction and was a member of West Point Baptist Church.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his son, William Dean Argo of Oakboro; his two daughters, Ashley Elizabeth Argo of Charleston, S.C., and Katie Frances Argo of Oakboro; his twin brother, Kirk Lynn Argo of Kannapolis; his two other brothers, Todd Allan Argo and wife, Melissa of Columbia, S.C., and Craig E. Argo and wife, Kim of Kannapolis; his two nephews, Nicholas A. Argo and Nicholas T. Argo; his two nieces, Caroline Argo and Amy Argo; and his special friend, Sandra Sellers.

Born Sep. 30, 1933, in Anson County, he was the son of the late Fred Hampton Cook and the late Virginia Mae Price Cook.
She was educated at Anson County Schools and worked 23 years with the Pepsi Company and 13 years with the Town of Landis, public works department.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Davidson Cook; his four daughters, Lisa Cook Simpson of China Grove, Teresa Cook Ramey of Wildwood, Ga., Candy Lynn Sain of Baton Rouge, La., and Scarlet Susan Rector of Summerville, S.C.; his stepson, Billy James of Landis; his two brothers, Joe Frank Cook of Monroe and Donnie Cook of Wadesboro; his two sisters, Annie Jane Cook McCombs and Shirley Elizabeth Flowers, both of Kannapolis; his nine grandchildren; and his 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr. John Freeze, Jr.
KANNAPOLIS -- John Daniel Freeze, Jr., 72, of 303 Elwood Street, Kannapolis, died Saturday, November 17, 2001, at Five Oaks Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. Dale Jenkins will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at Hartsell Funeral Home and at other times, will be at the home.
Born May 22, 1929, in Cabarrus County, Mr. Freeze was the son of the late Lottie Turner Freeze Shoaf and John Daniel Freeze, Sr.
He was a broker and officer with Freeze Real Estate, Inc. and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was a retired barber and served on the ABC Board.
Mr. Freeze received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Irvine Freeze of Kannapolis; two sons, John Charles Freeze of Mooresville, Maurice Dean Freeze of Kannapolis; and five grandchildren, Mauranda Freeze, Daniel Garren Freeze, Kyle Landon Freeze, Kendall Leigh Freeze and Alexis Thigpen.
