Mr. Ramon Whitley
CONCORD -- Ramon C. Whitley, of Concord, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
He is survived by five daughters, Shirley White, Linda Harkey and Wendy Calhoun, all of Mount Pleasant, Arlene McEachern of Locust, and Jennie Caudill of Concord; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Whitley's remains were laid to rest yesterday in a private ceremony with his daughters.
Mrs. Gertrude Wilson
HARRISBURG -- Gertrude H. Wilson, 76, of Harrisburg, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at her home.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at the Wilson Chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 5301 Albemarle Road. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home.
Born Sept. 15, 1925, a daughter of the late Horace G. Hart, Sr. and Eva Mae Paris Hart.
Mrs. Wilson retired in 1981, following over 30 years of federal service.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Harvey P. Wilson; one daughter, Linda Reed of the home; two grandchildren, John Reed Jr. and Kimberly Robles and her husband, Jesse; one brother, Horace G. Hart and his family of Concord; and two sisters, Lucille Smith of Concord, and Ruth Dunn of Charlotte and their families.

Mrs. Linda Burleson
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Linda Ann Turner Burleson, 41, of 10333 Highway 49 North, Mount Pleasant, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Death was unexpected.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. Leon Smith will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 9 at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born July 28, 1960, in Albemarle, she was the daughter of Wilson Turner of Polkton, and Evelyn Edwards Spears of Oakboro.
She was the secretary and treasurer of Regional Wholesale Florist.
She was a graduate of West Stanly High School and attended Western Carolina University and Wingate University.
She was a loving mother and friend to many.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, James F. Burleson, Sr.; a daughter, Courtney Deay Burleson of the home; two sons, James F. Burleson, Jr. and Andrew Spencer Burleson, both of the home; a sister, Vicky Andrews of Polkton and a half-brother, Billy Spears of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Mr. James Cook
MOUNT PLEASANT -- James Norman Cook, 56, of 8237 North Drive, Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Mt. Pleasant.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Rev. Dr. Kenny Wallace will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Mike Rogers, Bill Kennedy, Lanny Shoe, Rick Huneycutt, Darrelly Caldwell and Jerry Furr.
The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
At other times the family will be at the home of a sister, Margie Sneed, at 347 Snead Lane, Mt. Pleasant.
Born Oct. 26, 1945, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Alice Mayfield Biggers Cook and Robert Alexander Cook.
He was an installer for Maxon & Assoc. Door Company and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was also a member of Lutheran Church of Holy Trinity.
Survivors include his brother, Harry Lee Cook of Hickory; six sisters, Blanche Howell of Concord, Virginia Almond of Locust, Helen Kades and Margie Sneed, both of Mt. Pleasant, Sue Boyter of Charlotte, and Emily Kennedy of Kannapolis; and two godchildren, Jimmy Goodman of Kannapolis, and Brandon Mills of Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. Everette Crisco
KANNAPOLIS -- Everette Dee Crisco, 74, of 1285 West A Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2001, at the Big Elm Nursing Center, after a period of declining health.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Kannapolis West A Church of God.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. Sam Crisp will officiate.
The body will remain at Lady's Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state from 10 until 11 a.m.
The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born Feb. 16, 1927 in Kannapolis, he was the son of the late James and Globie Lawing Crisco.
He was a retired employee of Cannon Mills and a member of Kannapolis West A Church of God.
Mr. Crisco was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Rollins Crisco on March 9, 2001; his daughter, Melba Jean Wheeler; and his grandson, Clint Wheeler.
Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Emmett Full
CONCORD -- Emmett O. Full, 72, of Concord, died Nov. 20, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
He was born in Wood County, on Jan. 3, 1929, a son of the late Homer Full and Velma Hurd Full.
He attended Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and retired from the WV Department of Highways.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Full; four daughters, Linda Lafreniere and Sandi Black, both of Concord, Karen Richards of Kannapolis, and Tammy Harris of Parkersbury, West Virginia; two sons, Randy Full of Charlotte, and David Full of Parkersburg, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Full of Richmond, Va.; and three sisters, Carrie Gorrell, Roberta Davis and Eleanor Fought, all of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Brian and Mark Full, and two sisters, Lula Bock and Doris Sams.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Leavitt Funeral Home, in Parkersburg, with Rev. Phil Newhart officiating.
Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, West Virginia.

CHINA GROVE -- Billie Sue White, 51, of 2330 W. N.C. Hwy 152, China Grove, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Landis Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
The Revs. Billy Honeycutt, Ted Ragsdale, and Richard Horn will officiate.

Born Oct. 27, 1950, in West Jefferson, she was the daughter of Grace Viers Sheets of Kannapolis, and the late Wade Sheets.
She was a graduate of South Rowan Senior High School and operated a home day care for many years.
She was a member of Landis Baptist Church and Jesse Stirewalt Circle.
Survivors include her husband, Mr. Fred White of China Grove; a son, Scott White of Rockwell; a daughter, Jenny Starnes of China Grove; four sisters, Eva Hunter, Wanda Honeycutt, and Brenda Morris, all of Kannapolis, and Betty Evans of China Grove; and three grandchildren, Brianne White, Bryson White and Jaben Starnes.

Mr. Dudley Wilson
LANDIS -- Dudley Guy Wilson, 88, 407 W. Davis Street, Landis, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001, at Big Elm Nursing Center in Kannapolis, after a lengthy illness.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
The Revs. Tom Cabaniss and Norman Brisson will officiate.
The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. ,
At other times, they will be at the home on Davis Street.
Born May 9, 1913, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late Green B. Wilson and Lockie Alice Young Wilson.
He was employed with Cannon Mills Co., Plant 1, where he was overseer in no. 4 Carding and Spinning departments for 40 years until his retirement in 1975.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis, where he was active with the Wyatt Sunday School Class, Keen-agers Senior Citizens Group, and various church activities throughout the years.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
He had been a resident of the area since 1937.
Survivors include his wife, LaRue Parrish Wilson; a son, Norman B. Wilson and his wife Patricia of Richfield; a daughter, Janice Wislon Henson and husband Bill of Laurel Springs; five grandchildren, Connie Weavil and husband Mark of Lexington, Vickie Wilson of Albemarle, Emily Wilson of Richfield, Scott Henson and wife Melanie of Laurel Springs, and Robin Ashley and husband Greg of Jefferson; and one great-grandson, Samuel Henson of Laurel Springs.

Mr. Timothy Dry
SALISBURY -- Timothy "Tim" Lee Dry, 38, of Salisbury, died Wednesday, November 21, 2001 in Darlington, S.C. from injuries sustained in an auto accident.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Floyd Bost, interim pastor, will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Powles Funeral Home in Rockwell.
Born April 3, 1963, in Rowan County, he was the son of Agnes Hill Dry and Bobby Lee Dry.
He was a 1981 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
Mr. Dry was a heavy equipment operator with Jones Brothers, Inc. in Mount Pleasant.
He was a member of St. Stephans Lutheran Church.
He was a member of the Piedmont Pulling Association of Oakboro.
His hobby was pulling lawn mowers.
He was preceded in death by his companion, Sherry N. Middleton.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a son, Jason Timothy Dry of the home; step-sons, Robert Mishak of Gold Hill, Billy Mishak of Salisbury; daughters, Kimberly Lynn Dry of Salisbury, Amber Dry of Gold Hill; step-daughter, Crystal Mishak of Salisbury; sister, Angelia Dry of Rockwell and four step-grandchildren.
