Mrs. Louise Tarrh
CONCORD -- Louise Carpenter Tarrh, 86, of #7 Fleetwood Drive, Concord, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at her home.
The funeral will be 4 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel in Concord.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. Mike Farley will officiate.
The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord.
At other times the family will be at the home on Fleetwood Drive.
Born Sept. 9, 1915 in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Irene Little Green and Charlie Pierson Green.
She was co-owner and operator of Little Pig BBQ in Concord, and retired from Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of West Concord, Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Pink Carpenter and Francis Tarrh; by a son, Douglas Carpenter; and a grandson, Scott Carpenter.
Survivors include her daughter, Saundra Griffin and her husband Ed of Concord; her step-son, Michael Tarrh of Conyers, Ga.; her sister, Eula G. Kluttz of Toccoa, Ga.; three grandchildren, Tammie and husband Chris Vagts of Cumming, Ga., Angie and husband Joe Vincoli of Raleigh, NC, and Kelly and wife Dana Carpenter of Albemarle; a step-grandson, Nick Tarnate; and eight great-grandchildren, Christopher and Walker Vincoli, Chris, Jr., Richard, and Tommy Vagts, and Nikki, Daniel and Madison Carpenter.

Mr. Gene Wilson
SALISBURY -- Thomas Eugene "Gene" Wilson, 66, of Salisbury, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at Rowan Regional Medical Center. Death was unexpected.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Summersett Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Chris Hawks, minister of Miami Baptist Church, will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Summersett Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence.
Born June 15, 1935 in Kannapolis, he was the son of Agnes Rary Wilson of Rowan County, and the late John Lindsey Wilson. He was educated in the Mt. Ulla Schools and a member of First United Church of Christ in Salisbury. He was employed for Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, and was also a mechanic for Rives Motor Company before retiring.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Anne Yost Wilson, whom he married Nov. 23, 1957; his son, Thomas E. "Tom" Wilson, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; three sisters, Priscilla Elaine Hemmings and Mary Elizabeth Lowman, both of Salisbury, and Brenda Kay Ward of the Mill Bridge Community; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

CONCORD -- Gregory Otto Bost, 50, of 105 Buffalo Ave., Concord, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center after being ill for several years.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Cemetery. Dr. E.R. Kirkpatrick will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. At other times, they will be at the home on Buffalo Ave.
Born Sept. 1, 1951 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Margaret Cannon Bost. He was retired from Philip Morris and a member of Start St. Matthew's Masonic Lodge, the Royal Arch, and Knights of Templar.
Survivors include his wife, Vergia Black Bost of the home; a daughter, Constance Bost of the home; a son, Cortez Bost of the home; three sisters, Lanita B. Rucker of Kannapolis, Malanie Kearns of Leesburg, Va., and Catherine Bost Reid of Concord; a brother, Jeffrey Bost of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandmother, Ethel R. Cannon of Concord; and a grandson, Kirez Bost of Salisbury.

Mr. Clell Hathcock
STANFIELD -- Clell Hathcock, 76, of 4377 Hwy 200, Stanfield, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery, with military graveside rites performed by DAV Chapter #12 of Albemarle.
The Rev. Dwight Mabry will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., at Hartsell Funeral Home, in Midland.

Born May 7, 1925 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late Ara Thomas and Robert Lee Hathcock.
He worked in maintenance at Lance Packing Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Hathcock of Stanfield; two daughters, Kim Phipps and her husband Terry of Jacksonville, Fla., and Donnice Whitley and her husband Lyndall of Stanfield; three sisters, Edith Drake and Margie Drake, both of Stanfield, and Ruby Drye of Mooresville; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

CONCORD -- Arnold Edward "Eddie" Lowder, 62, of 760 Jackson Terrace SW, Concord, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at his home.

Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.

Born July 15, 1939 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Dora Mitchell Lowder and Sidney Lowder.
He was a brick mason and a member of Broadus Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Miller Lowder of the home; two daughters, Pennie Newell and Bonnie Martin, both of Concord; a son, Arnold Lowder, Jr. of Concord; a step-son, Brent Furr of Concord; two step-daughters, Angela Raeker of Matthews and Tracie Hartsell of Midland; a brother, Denver Lowder of Concord; three sisters, Dianne Taylor and Carolyn Paige, both of Concord, and Bobbie Christy of Kannapolis; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mrs. Marian Marsh
WINSTON-SALEM -- Marian McManus Marsh, 84, of 1199 Hayes Forest Drive, Winston-Salem, formerly of Kannapolis, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, at Baptist Hospital.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Freezor Auditorium at Brookridge Retirement Community off Bethabara Road, 1199 Hayes Forest Drive in Winston-Salem. The Rev. Maurice Briggs, Charles Edwards, and Ray Benfield will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Brookridge following the service.
Mrs. Marsh, the wife of the late Health Bascom Marsh of Winston-Salem, was born on Feb. 8, 1917 in Monroe. She was the daughter of the late Basil McManus and Essie Tucker McManus.
She was a graduate of Mars Hill and Queens Colleges with a B.A. in English and was a former officer of The Marsh Company. She retired in 1985 and moved to Greensboro. Since 1990, she had lived at Brookridge Retirement Community, Winston-Salem. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church, Winston-Salem.
Survivors include a son, Donald H. Marsh of Concord; three daughters, Frances M. Nesbitt of Cedar Key, Fla., Jane M. Martin of Greensboro, and Anne M. Kennedy of Hickory; a sister, Hilda Henderson of Greensboro; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Zelma Eagle
KANNAPOLIS -- Zelma Linker Eagle, 83, of 205 Prince St., Kannapolis, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Center Grove Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Zachariah Harris, III will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home on Prince Street.
Born July 6, 1918, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Robert (Bob) Linker and the late Ruth Trexler Linker. She was employed with Cannon Mills Co., Plant #1, Wash Cloth Dept. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Center Grove Lutheran Church in Kannapolis, for 49 years where she taught the Youth Sunday School Class. She was a resident of Kannapolis, for most of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Monroe Eagle, who died in 1972; and two sisters, Charlotte Poole and Elma Dabbs.
Survivors include her daughter, Claudine E. Price of Kannapolis; three granddaughters, Heather Price Sweatt of Kannapolis, Molly Price Sampson of Pembroke, and Erica Lynne Price of Wilmington; two great-grandsons, Tyler Austin Sampson and Gavin Blake Sampson; and a nephew, Charles Dabbs of Salisbury.

Dr. Mindy Roshon
CHARLOTTE -- Dr. Melinda "Mindy" Sue Roshon, 48, of the Mallard Creek Community in Charlotte, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Dr. Roshon was born Dec. 27, 1952, in Medina, Ohio, to Richard E. and Alice Roshon. Dr. Roshon was a member of Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church and a choir member. She was Chairperson of the Circle of Anna. She was also a community volunteer in her roles as soccer mom and cookie mom for Girl Scouts.
Dr. Roshon served her church and community in many ways. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing letters to her friends. Given her own medical trials and hardships, she had special understanding of those experiencing suffering and pain. She will forever be remembered for her words and deeds of compassion and love for others.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison Roshon Young; her husband of 19 years, Dr. James Henry Young, Jr.; her parents, Richard E. and Alice Roshon of Oak Island, N.C.; two sisters, Pamela Carlin of New Castle, Penn., and Gwynne Roshon-Larsen of Saratoga, Calif.; and one nephew, Eric Carlin of Murphysboro, Ill.
Dr. Roshon is a graduate of Medina High School and Denison University, where she was a Pi Beta Phi. She obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 1983 from Florida State University. She worked as a psychologist for the Cabarrus County Schools for seven years prior to becoming disabled.
Visitation was at the family's home Tuesday. A memorial service was held Wednesday at the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church, officiated by the Rev. Robert M. Watkins and the Rev. Margaret A. Shaw, associate pastor. There was a private service for the family following the memorial service.
Memorials may be made in Dr. Roshon's name to the Mallard Creek Presbyterian Church Pastor's Fund, or to the National Scleroderma Foundation.

Mrs. Alice Walters
CONCORD -- Alice Anderson Walters, 78, of St. Andrew's Living Center and formerly of Burrage Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2001, at St. Andrew's Living Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. David Christy will officiate.
The family will receive friends Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the home of a son at 108 Woodland Drive.
Born May 6, 1923, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Sherman and Maude Wilkerson Anderson.
She was retired from Cannon Mills and a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hoover Walters, who died in 1990.
Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Karen W. Willard of Smithfield, Va.; two sons, Mr. Phillip E. Walters and Mr. Robert B. Walters, both of Concord; two sisters, Mrs. Cecile Peavy and Mrs. Katherine Stevens, both of Concord; two brothers, Mr. Melvin Anderson of Concord, and Mr. Gilbert Anderson of Kannapolis; and five grandchildren.
