Mrs. Rosa Huffman
LANDIS -- Rosa Lee Crisp Huffman, 94, formerly of 410 West Ryder Avenue, Landis, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Wilmington, of declining health.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Landis Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Rev. Billy Honeycutt will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Landis.
Born March 18, 1907 in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Sally Crisp Honeycutt and Joe Crisp.
She was educated in Iredell County Schools and retired from Linn Mills in Landis.
She was a member of Landis Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Albert Huffman, who died on Nov. 4, 1990.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Ray Huffman of Salisbury; two daughters, Hilda Cross of Wilmington, and Audry Edwards of Rome, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Bennett Jacobi
CONCORD -- Bennett Michael Jacobi, of 4725 Clubview Lane, passed away on Nov. 29, 2001.
Born in Williamsville, N.Y., on August 22, 1991, ten-year-old "Ben" was the beloved son of Mike and Judy Jacobi.
In addition to his parents and many loving family and friends, Ben is survived by his grandparents, Jack and Barb Jacobi of North Tonawanda, N.Y., and Ron and Jean Steinbrenner of Tonawanda, N.Y.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Ben will held at Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda, N.Y.
Ben was a fifth grade student at A.T. Allen Elementary School and had also attended the School for Environmental Studies and Winecoff Elementary School.
He enjoyed outdoor field trips and adventures with his friends and said he always wished for a pool full of chocolate pudding.
Ben also loved making and building things, whether it be with Legos or clay.
Pottery was a favorite craft of his, so much so that he had his tenth birthday party at the Pottery Pad.
Ben has many classmates who remember him fondly.
Says Tara Farnham, "I never saw Ben frowning -- he was always smiling."
Alex Clark remembers that, "Ben always cheered you up when you were in a bad mood."
And Nicholas Watson's favorite memory is of Ben teaching him how to bounce a cat on a trampoline and playing "seven ball ghost."
"He taught me the true meaning of fun," Nicholas fondly recalls.
Mrs. Whitaker Goodnight
CHINA GROVE -- Whitaker Belk Goodnight, 86, of 1930 Brown Road, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Christ.
The Rev. Paul Pickler will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Paul's United Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the home on Brown Road.
The remainder of the time the family will be at the home.
Born July 23, 1915, in Iredell County, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Clarence and Ida Goodnight Belk.
She was educated in Iredell County schools and graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College.
She was formerly employed as school teacher and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by husband, Henry Lamont Goodnight on March 31, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Cecil Goodnight of Raleigh, and David Goodnight of Denver; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Harvey Cline
CONCORD -- Harvey Alexander Cline, 89, of First Assembly Living Center and formerly of Davidson Highway, died Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at Brian Center in Concord.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Parkwood Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The Revs. Darrell Coble and Steve Davis will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Lady's Funeral Home.
At other times, they will be at the home of a sister, Rachel Untz, at 2910 Linker Ave., Concord.
Born March 13, 1912, in Concord, he was the son of the late William Alexander Cline and Cora Jane Bonds.
Mr. Cline was a farmer as well as a carpenter for Cannon Mills.
He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Viola Montieth Cline; a daughter, Lea Hullender of Lake Lure; a son, David Cline of Raleigh; four sisters, Mildred Heglar of Mount Pleasant, Etta Myers and Sue Gray, both of Kannapolis, Rachel Untz of Concord; two brothers, Herman "Bill" Cicero Cline of Kannapolis, Ray "Bud" Bonds Cline of Concord; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Hillart Frazier
KANNAPOLIS -- Hillart Frazier, 82, of 707 South Harding St., Kannapolis, died Monday, December 3, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The Rev. P.C. Holland will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 2 to 3 p.m. and at other times, will be at the home of his daughter at 1503 Kingston Drive, Kannapolis.
Born June 20, 1919, in Lancaster, S.C., Mr. Frazier was the son of the late Lester Frazier and Lula Cunningham Frazier.
He was a member of First Baptist Church and vice-chairman of the trustee board for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the Layman League, Men's Bible Class, Head Cemetery Committee and Pastor's Aid.
He was custodian of Midway Methodist Church and First Baptist Church for more than 30 years.
Mr. Frazier was also a member of the Community Watch.
His wife, Laura Neal Frazier, preceded him in death in October 1984.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Frazier Campbell of Kannapolis; two sons, Jake Willis, Sr. and Purcell Willis Sr., both of Kannapolis; a sister, Almetta McKinsey of New York City; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Ryne Kluttz
LEXINGTON -- Ryne Thomas Kluttz, 12, of 223 Ashmoor Lane, Lexington, died Tuesday, December 4, 2001, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center from injuries received in an automobile accident.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Pinedale Christian Church.
Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory in Clemmons.
The Revs. Matt Anzivino, C.F. McDowell and Derek Capello will officiate.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at Davidson Funeral Home - Hickory Tree Chapel.
At other times, they will be at the home.
He was born May 15, 1989, in Rowan County, to Thomas Ray Kluttz and Sherry Earnhardt Kluttz.
He was a 7th grade student at Sheets Memorial Christian School, where he played on the basketball team and the spring soccer team.
Ryne loved all outdoor sports.
He was a member of Family Tabernacle in Lewisville, where he was very active in church activities, youth group and drama team.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Clyde Earnhardt, Jr.
In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Phillip Kluttz of the home; grandparents, Dorothy H. Earnhardt Hagler of Gold Hill, and Van Thomas Kluttz and Betty L. Wagner Kluttz of Mount Pleasant.

Mr. James Stafford
KANNAPOLIS -- James "Jimmy" Lawrence Stafford, 61, of 1408 Ontario St., Kannapolis, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at NorthEast Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Skyland Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. David Icenhour will officiate.

Born Dec. 10, 1939, in Chesterfield County, S.C., Mr. Stafford was the son of Cleo Sellers Stafford and the late Riley Stafford.
Survivors include his mother, Cleo Sellers of the home; a sister, Janice Shoe of Concord; uncle and aunt, Ed and Dot Sellers of Kannapolis; three nieces and many special friends.

Mrs. Grace Allen
LOCUST -- Grace Barber Allen, 77, of 205 Dogwood St., Locust, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at Five Oaks Nursing Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Locust United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The Rev. Jessie Rushing will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home in Midland.
Born March 18, 1924, in Rowan County, she was the daughter of the late Grace Martell Blackmon and the late Sidney Summerall Barber.
She was a bookkeeper at Cannon Mills and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.
She was also a member of Locust United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Bernis John Allen.
Survivors include three sons, David Allen of Oakboro, Gene Allen of Monroe, and John Allen of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Ralph Barber of Wilmington, and Richard Barber of Concord; a sister, Dorothy Love of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Harvey Byrd
DAVIDSON -- Harvey Lee Byrd, 75, of 5951 Vinewood Road, Davidson, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The Rev. Randy Wall will officiate.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home.
At other times, the family will be at the home on Vinewood Road.
Born Dec. 20, 1925, in Mecklenburg County, he was the son of the late John Henry Byrd and the late Carrie Howie Byrd.
Mr. Byrd worked for several textile plants in the area and retired several years ago.
He previously ran a saw mill and was employed with Davis Enterprises in Salisbury.
He formerly attended Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Smith Byrd, who died March 5, 1999.
Survivors include his son, Jeffrey Byrd of the home; his sister, Ruth Byrd of Kannapolis; and his brother, Paul Byrd of Mooresville.
