Mr. James Cleveland Drye
CONCORD -- James Cleveland Drye, 66, of 127 Stonecrest Circle, Concord, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, 9:03 a.m., at Decedent's Residence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Broadus Memorial Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at West Concord Cemetery.
The Rev. Rodney Quesenberry will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Hartsell Funeral Home.
At other times, they will be at 127 Stonecrest Circle.
Born Dec. 29, 1935, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Alice Evelyn Rhinehardt Drye and the late Leonard W. Drye.
He worked for Kepley Construction Company in Salisbury, as a housemover.
He was a member of Boadus Memorial Baptist Church in Concord.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Blackwelder Drye.
Survivors include his mother, Alice Evelyn Rhinehardt Drye, of Concord; his wife, Brenda Drye, of Concord; one son, Randy Dye, of Concord; one daughter, Tammy Drye and husband Jerry Dean Garmon, of Concord; three brothers, Lester Eugene Drye, Glenn W. Drye, both of Concord, and Norman Drye, of Branard Minn.,

Mr. Eugene H. Hayworth, Sr.
SILER CITY -- Eugene Holland Hayworth, Sr., 62, of 2741 Old Coleridge Road, Siler City, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at Chatham Hospital, Inc.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smith and Buckner Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayworth was a native of Durham County, a truck driver and was a Marine veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Paulley Hayworth, of Siler City; two sons, Eugene H. Hayworth, Jr., of Denver Colo., and Steven Hayworth, of Raleigh; five daughters, Dorothy Johnson, of Zebulon, Lynne Poole, of Ramseur, Sherry Ingraham, of Coleridge, Betty Hayworth, of Clayton, and Valerie Shelton, of Coleridge; two sisters, Margaret Ashely, of Concord, and Bonnie Collins, of Wilmington; two brothers, Butch Dunlap and Larry Dunlap, both of Raleigh; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Billie Ridenhour
CONCORD -- Mrs. Billie Dove Williams Ridenhour, 69, of Concord, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2002, at her home.
The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. The Rev. John Kahl will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 2, 1933, in Kinston, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Margie Earnhardt Williams. She worked as bookkeeper at Purser Central Rewinding until her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her brother John W. Williams.
Survivors include one daughter, Miss Dawn Elizabeth Ridenhour, of Concord; one sister, Elizabeth Hammil, of Gold Hill; one brother, Raymond Williams, of Kill Devil Hills.

Mr. Robert W. Scarborough
CONCORD -- Robert Wade Scarborough, 47, of 2007 Townview Drive, Kannapolis, died Friday Jan. 11, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. Steve Sexton will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight at Whitley's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be home at 2007 Townview Drive, Kannapolis.
Born Sept. 6, 1954, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of Paul Scarborough and the late Gladys Tyner Scarborough. He worked as a mechanic at J.R. Sales and Service and Widenhouse Service until his retirement due to disability. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Survivors include, his wife, Becky Carter Scarborough; one daughter, Tina Michelle Sellers, of China Grove; one son Eric Wade Scarborough, of the home; one grandson, Mason Scott Sellers; his father, Paul Scarborough and stepmother Naomi, of Mooresville; his twinbrother, Ronald Scarborough and wife Cindy, of Concord; and two nephews, Jeffrey and Matthew Scarborough.

Miss Doris Brawley
KANNAPOLIS -- Doris Ann Brawley, 66, of 120-B Springway Drive, Kannapolis, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Transitional Health Services.

Born Aug. 8, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of the late Robert F. Brawley and Genolia Deal Brawley.
Survivors include two brothers, James F. Brawley of Harrisburg and Mason L. Brawley of Kannapolis.

Mr. Wade H. Cook
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Wade H. Cook, 75, of Newington Drive, Orlando, Fla., died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, of a massive stroke.
Mr. Cook was the director of field services for Schlafhorst in Charlotte, N.C. He was born in Gastonia, N.C., and moved to central Florida in 1998. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Mooresville, N.C. Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Cook is survived by his wife Lucille of Orlando; two daughters, Lu Ann Brinkley of Atlanta, Ga., and Judith Cook Mackesy of Matthews, N.C.; three sisters, Faye Cook Agoes of Orlando, Sue Freeze of Concord, N.C., and Kay Dellinger of Fayetteville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Amy Suzanne Canaday of Leesburg, Fla.; a great-grandson, Ryan Tyler Canaday of Leesburg, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at 12 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Orlando, with the Rev. John Carlson, chaplain at Orlando Regional Medical Center, officiating. Services under the direction of Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
Mr. Reggie Evans
CONCORD -- Reginald "Reggie" Bernard Evans, 48, of 131 Georgia Street, Concord, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at NorthEast Medical Center.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Hill A.M.E. Zion Church. Burial will follow at Rutherford Memorial Park. The eulogist will be Rev. Wayne Harris, pastor.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3 p.m. At other times the family will be at the home on Georgia Street.
Born Oct. 2, 1953, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the late Lawrence C. Evans and Janie Harris Evans.
Mr. Evans was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathy Evans Patton and Eulanda Evans Wesley.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his sister, Alpha Katrina Jordan of Philadelphia, Pa.; a brother, Rev. Lawrence C. Evans Jr. and wife Betty of Charlotte; two uncles, Frank D. Evans and wife Berthenia of Concord, and Sandy Jones and wife Queen of Mount Pleasant; a niece, Ashley Evans of Charlotte; and two nephews, Akida Jordan of Philadelphia, Pa., and Jamahl Evans of Concord.

Mr. Norman Gray
GEORGETOWN, S.C. -- Norman Harvey Gray, 74, of Georgetown, S.C., died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 15, 1927, in Centralia, Ill., the oldest son of the late John Harvey and Sarah Clarice Bowen Gray. A brother, Richard Dean Gray, predeceased him.
Mr. Gray was a retired welder and a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved from Mt. Ulla, N.C. in 1997 to Prince George Healthcare and was known as the "Picture Man." His artwork decorated all the patients' rooms and he was the resident fix-it man.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jewell Roach Gray; two daughters, Linda B. Harrington and husband Mike of Myrtle Beach and Sarah G. Carson of Charlotte; five grandchildren, Jeff B. Harrington, Valerie L. Harrington, Kelly A. Atkinson, Kristen M. Stutts and Kandice L. Caputo; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach.

CONCORD -- Jeffrey Bryan Lofty, II, 21, of 2693 Old Plantation Drive, Concord, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2002, at his home.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Ronald Bowman will officiate.

Born Feb. 6, 1980, in Cabarrus County, he was the son of father J. Bryan Lofty and wife Nancy of the home and mother April Menius Stone and husband Kenneth of Concord. He was employed by Carolina Foods.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his grandparents, Nell Lofty of Kannapolis; Phyllis Hamilton of Advance, N.C., and Neal Menius of Concord; great-grandparents, Irene Bostian of Salisbury, and Margie Menius of Concord; two sisters, Penny Hill and Heather Stone, both of Concord; and two brothers, Lance Cpl. Christopher Lofty, USMC, of Camp Lejeune, N.C., and Lucas Stone of Concord.
