Kannapolis, NC - Ms. Sally Monree Armour Fisher, 64, a resident of Avante at Concord, and formerly of Plyler Road in Kannapolis, died Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Avante at Concord.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
The Rev. Barry Kemp will officiate.
Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday at Lady's Funeral Home.
At other times, they will be at the home of a son, Scottie Bray, 775 Atwell Road, Mt. Ulla, NC.
Born February 9, 1939, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Joe Montgomery Armour and the late Mary Ann Frasure Armour.
She was a homemaker and attended Liberty Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Linn Bray.
Survivors include a daughter, Scarlet Miller of Kannapolis; a son, Scottie Bray of Mt. Ulla; three sisters, Joann Nance of Cornelius, Melvie Sweet of Rockwell, Katie McCoy of Concord; and two grandchildren.

Kannapolis, NC - Mrs. Lovenia Bost Price, 73, of 2126 Hopedale Street, Kannapolis, NC, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at NorthEast Medical Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, April 3, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel.
Rev. Tim Jernigan will officiate.
Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence of Mrs. Price.
Mrs. Price was born November 7, 1929 in Concord, NC.
She was a daughter of the late Ralph Bost and Audrey Shinn Bost.
She was a beautician and a member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, Lloyd E. Price; daughter, Barbara Price Frye of Concord; two sons, Johnny Price and his wife, Elaine, and David Price, all of Kannapolis; Imogene Bost Carpenter of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Erma T. Slough Brown

Concord, NC - Mrs. Erma T. Slough Brown, 92, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the home of a daughter, Dawn Blackerby, 3600 Still Oaks Court NW, Concord, with whom she made her home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Landis Baptist Church.
Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
The Revs. Billy Honeycutt, James Pauley and Jack Watts will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
At other times, they will be at the home of a daughter, Wanda Morgan, 1120 China Grove Road, China Grove.
Born October 28, 1909, in Yadkin County, NC, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Hampton Taylor and the late Ada Mae Haga Taylor.
Mrs. Brown retired several years ago from the Sewing Room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis.
She was a member of Landis Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Homer Alexander Slough, who died in 1967, and William Bruce Brown, Sr., who died in 1989; and a brother, Jesse Taylor.
Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Blackerby and her husband, Harold, of Concord, and Wanda Morgan and her husband, Jack of China Grove; four sisters, Lois Brooks and Inez Harrington, both of Kannapolis, Geneva Luther of China Grove, and Virginia Allred of Siler City; two brothers, Oren Taylor and John Taylor, both of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, Todd Murphy of Lexington, Benjie Bayne and Kelly Broadway, both of Kannapolis, Jackie Smith and Joshua Blackerby, both of Concord; and nine great-grandchildren.

Kannapolis, NC - Mrs. Dorcas Hartis Browning, 82, of 606 Jackson Street, Kannapolis, died Friday, May 17, 2002, at Avante at Concord Nursing Center.

Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

Born February 3, 1920, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late D. S. Hartis and the late Viola Baker Hartis.
Mrs. Browning retired after 45 years of service from the sewing room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. \
She was a member of Lane Street Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis L. Browning; a son, Curtis Browning, Jr. and his wife, Marlene, of Landis; a sister, Lametta Christie of Indian Trail; a brother, D. S. Hartis of Kannapolis; two grandchildren, Todd Browning and Lori Wilson; and five great-grandchildren.
Wesley J. "Wes" Hathaway

Kannapolis, NC - His mansion was finished, and Wesley James "The Sign Doctor" Hathaway, 76, of 1802 Valwood Street, Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 26, 2002, at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Concord.

Born August 19, 1925, in Chester, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Harvey Hathaway and the late Anna Simcox Hathaway.
Mr. Hathaway was the founder of Wesco Signs in Kannapolis.
He was known by many of his friends and associates as "The Sign Doctor".
He was a member of Central Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School class.
He was a member of the first Kenya Mission Trip in 1991 with Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church in Concord, where he was an active member for 25 years.
He was a member of Allen Graham Masonic Lodge #695, the Scottish Rites, York Rites, and the Oasis Shrine in Charlotte.
He served on the Oasis Shrine Directors Staff for over 25 years and was an honorary lifetime member of the Directors Staff.
His first wife, Margaret McLemore Hathaway, preceded him in death on April 28, 1994.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Northam Hathaway; a son, Edward "Eddie" Hathaway and his wife, Linda, of Concord; a step-daughter, Susan Key and her husband, Dennis, of Enochville; a step-son, Richard W. Stevens of Salisbury; three brothers, Claude Hathaway of Claymont, DE, Albert Hathaway and Robert Hathaway, both of Rehobeth Beach, DE; three sisters, Betty Hathaway of Kannapolis, Ida Mae Hathaway of Rehobeth Beach, DE, Patty Stoterau of Huntingtown, MD; five grandchildren, Michael "Chris" Hathaway and his wife Susan, Amanda Key, Thomas Joshua Stevens, Candice Lee Stevens and Kimberly Paige Stevens; and two great-grandchildren, Christian Hathaway and Jeremy Hathaway.

Carl Van Athey

Kannapolis - Mr. Carl Van Athey, 78, a resident of Avante at Concord, and formerly of Lane Street in Kannapolis, died Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Avante at Concord, following a serious illness of three weeks.
A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Kannapolis Cemetery.
Pastor Sean Brigman will officiate.
Friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Born April 11, 1924, in Rowan County, Mr. Athey was a son of the late John Athey and the late Mary Yost Athey.
He retired several years ago from the towel packaging department of Cannon Mills Plant One.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Athey was a member of Pleasant Avenue Freewill Baptist Church.
His wife, Lois Pulliam Athey, preceded him in death on September 28, 1998.
Survivors include two nieces, Barbara Chapman of Davidson and Dianne Brigman of Kannapolis.
