Mama Leen as she was so affectionately known to her friends and community was a caring, compassionate and sweet presence to all who knew her. Never has she met a stranger. Mama Leen had a keen sense for always knowing what it meant to do the right thing. She instilled a value in her children (all of her children) that “it doesn’t cost any extra to be nice.” If you ever had an opportunity to join her at her table you knew that your meal had been prepared with love and her greatest joy was knowing that her guests had enjoyed a home cooked meal.
