Mrs. Connie Terry King, 54, of Raleigh, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003. The family received friends on Sunday, Sept. 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Harold Myatt King; two sons, David Thomas King and wife Tammy, and Daniel Woods King and wife Angela; four grandchildren, Edward Myatt King, Alyssa Pearl King, Casey Lyn King and Haley Nicole King; brother, David Douglas Terry and wife Barbara; uncle, Charles Terry; three aunts, Betty Hicks and husband Harold, Shirley Tucker and husband Bob, and Catherine Messer; nephews, David Christopher Terry, Stephen Douglas Terry and wife Susan and their child Andrew Terry; and numerous cousins. Winston H. Walters II
Winston H. “Buddy” Walters II, 46, of 500 Sloping Hill Lane, Fuquay-Varina, went home to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, Sept. 11, 2003. The family received friends at Triangle Community Church, 4216 Kildaire Farm Road, Apex, on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. and celebrated his home-going Sunday morning, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m. Burial followed at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina. Born in Grenada, Miss., Mr. Walters graduated from Mississippi College in 1980 and earned a Masters in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1992. Mr. Walters, associate pastor and co-found of Triangle Community Church will be remembered as a man of prayer and compassion who was deeply committed to reaching the ones who don't attend church. Buddy’s passion was worship, and he gave dynamic leadership to TCC’s Worship Team. He was a devoted husband and father and spiritual mentor to many. He is survived by his wife Debbie of Fuquay-Varina; two sons, Winston and Andrew, both of Fuquay-Varina; his parents, Winston and Allene Walters; and a brother, Bill of Grenada. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Lloyd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Buddy Walters’ Memorial Fund, c/o Triangle Community Church, 4216 Kildaire Farm Road, Apex, N.C. 27539. Arrangements were handled by Thomas Funeral Home in Fuquay-Varina.
Jack Sterling Woodell
Jack Sterling Woodell, 73, of Apex, a great sportsman, fisherman and lover of nature, passed away Friday, Sept. 12, night. He was a retiree of KFC and Chargrill of Raleigh and most recently Rex Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judith Tingen Woodell, and six children, Cyndy Lovie and husband Mitchell of Mount Olive, Cathie Pandergraft and husband George of Carpenter, Jimmie and Joe Woodell of Apex, Carol Woodell of Chapel Hill, and Chris Young and husband Paul of Apex; a sister, Edith Crabtree of St. Mary’s, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Marilyn Jean Agnew

Garner - Marilyn Jean Agnew, 79, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10005 Lake Wheeler Road, Fuquay-Varina, NC. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Freeman and Pauline Justice Mangrum; and sister, Janet Lee Mangrum Cook.
Jean was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for 40 years. She loved singing, flowers and plants. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a strong woman of faith. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James Agnew; daughter, Tammy Agnew Davis and husband, Gregory Wayne of Raleigh; grandson, James Lee Davis of Raleigh; and sister, Geraldine Mangrum Stuffel and husband, Ronald Lynn of Graham.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., prior to the funeral service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Violet Penny Pruitt
Violet Penny Pruitt, 88, died Sept. 3, 2003, at Wake Medical Center. Mrs. Pruitt graduated from Meredith College with a degree in English. She was a teacher at Lafayette School for many years. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Garden in Fuquay-Varina. She is survived by a son, Philip Loyd Pruitt of Charlotte; a daughter, JoAnn Pruitt Caviness of Fuquay-Varina; four grandchildren, Tommie Michelle Pruitt of Concord, Steve Caviness of Holly Springs, Todd Purdy of Apex, and Paige Purdy of Raleigh; three great-grandchildren; brother, Forrest Penny of Chalybeate Springs; and a sister, Sammy Overby of Chalybeate Springs. The family received friends at Sugg Funeral Home and at other times at Mrs. Pruitt’s home, 10411 Hwy. 401 in Fuquay-Varina.
Sallie Beck Fitzhugh
Sallie Beck Fitzhugh, 97, 1708 W. Academy St., died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at Wake Chapel Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her son, Waverly Fitzhugh and wife Ruth of Fuquay-Varina; a grandson, Lee Fitzhugh and wife Jodi of Holly Springs; a great-granddaughter, Ellis Fitzhugh of Holly Spring; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their many thanks for the kind service and acts of concern that Western Wake doctors, nurses and staff provided. The family received friends at Sugg Funeral Home and other times at the home of Waverly and Ruth Fitzhugh, 1708 W. Academy St. Arrangements were handled by Sugg Funeral Home.
Robert Erwin Wuester Jr.
Robert Erwin Wuester Jr., a long-time resident of Fuquay-Varina, died on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003. Bob was born in Patterson, N.J., on Feb. 2, 1937, to Robert E. Wuester Sr. and Katherine T. Wuester, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of four years, Vicky L. Wuester; his three sons, David Wuester and wife Loretta of Fuquay, William Wuester of Apex, and Alan Wuester of Fuquay; two granddaughters, Dusti and Brittany Wuester of Fuquay; a sister, Nancy Scully; and two nieces. Bob was a 1959 graduate of Bethany College with a dual degree in business and economics. He was president of Paragon Woven Label Company. He was a former volunteer firefighter in Fuquay-Varina and had been involved with numerous civic organizations. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no memorial services at this time. The family asks that any donations be made to Hospice at the Meadowlands Inpatient Care Facility, 1001 Corporate. Bob will be deeply missed and loved by his family, friends and community.
