Harry "Bill" Jenkins
Harry William “Bill” Jenkins, 58, of Raleigh, NC and W. Palm Beach, Florida died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at Rex Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1944 in Adel, Ga. to Frances Jones Jenkins and the late Donald Maxwell Jenkins. Upon graduating from Durham High School in 1963, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army and while serving in W. Germany he met and married his wife of 35 years, Kata. After moving to North Carolina in 1968 Bill entered the car dealership business in Greensboro and in 1973 bought the Ford dealership in Fuquay-Varina with his father Don.
Mr. Jenkins is survived by his wife Kata Jenkins; one son, Bobby Jenkins and wife Jill Jordan Jenkins; mother, Frances Jenkins; siblings, Donald Jenkins and wife Kelley of Sarasota, FL and David Jenkins of Ocala, Fla. and his beloved Bichon Frise, Crystal.
The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 4 at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S Wilmington St., Raleigh, NC 27603. Funeral service will be Friday 11a.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 1300 St. Mary’s St., Fourth Floor, Raleigh, NC 27605.

Frances Dean Horton
Mrs. Frances Dean Horton, 83, of 2629 Fleming Rd., Fuquay-Varina, died Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003. The funeral was held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at Sugg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Piney Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Horton was born on Nov. 15, 1919. She is survived by her sons, Richard Owen Horton of Apex, Thomas W. Horton and wife, Brenda, of Raleigh, and Allen Wayne Horton of Fuquay-Varina; daughters, Connie H. Pennington and husband, Walt, of Raleigh and Darlene Horton of Angier; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Horton was preceded in death by her husband, Albert W. Horton, and an infant son. The family received friends at Sugg Funeral Home and other times at the home of Darlene Horton, 514 Rawls Church Rd., Angier. Arrangements were handled by Sugg Funeral Home.
Mary Kenderian Muktarian
Mary Kenderian Muktarian died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003, after an illness. Her husband, Simon “Sam” Muktarian, died in 1981. She is survived by three sons, James Muktarian of Raleigh, Simon Muktarian of Sweetwater, Tenn., and Edward Muktarian of Merritt Island, Fla..; two daughters, Barbara Cantrell of Fuquay-Varina and Joyce Muktarian of Charlemont, Ma.; five grandchildren; three brothers, Van Yaylaian of Shrewsbury, Thomas Yaylaian and Robert Yaylaian, both of Grafton, Ma; a sister, Shahkeh Yaylaian-Setian of Mashpee with whom she loved; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, John Muktarian, a brother, John Kenderian, and her stepfather, Mourad Yaylaian. Born in Whitinsville on Oct. 14, 1923, she was the daughter of Dertad and Akaby R. Ajamian Kenderian. She was raised in Whitinsville and lived in Puerto Rico, Mississippi, North Carolina and Brazil due to her husband’s employment. Mrs. Muktarian worked at the Springfield Armory several years. She later owned and operated with her husband the Charlemont Inn in Massachusetts. Her graveside funeral was held Saturday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery on Linwood Ave. in Whitinsville. There were no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cape Cod, 270 Communication Way, Hyannis, Ma. 02601. Jackman Funeral Home directed the arrangements.
William Ben “Benny” Lee
Mr. William Ben “Benny” Lee, 45, of 909 Indian Creek Trail, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Rex Hospital. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Friday at Hope Fellowship Baptist Church, Raleigh. Burial followed at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Fuquay-Varina. Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Lee; daughters, Samantha Lee of Holly Hill, S.C., and Candace Clark of Garner; a son, Jonathan Lee of Garner; parents, Ben and Geraldine Lee of Willow Springs; a sister, Barbara Anthe and her husband, Bill, of Willow Spring; a grandson, Erik Burnette; and nephews, Sawyer and Zinmier Anthe. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mae Lee and Mavis Anderson. The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Sydney Carol Parrish I
Sydney Carol Parrish I died Monday, Aug. 11, 2003. A funeral was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13 at the Kipling United Methodist Church. Burial was in Olive Branch Cemetery. Surviving are her parents, Scott and Angela Norris Parrish; maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Donna Norris of Garner; paternal grandparents, Charles and Becky Parrish of Kipling; maternal great-grandparents, Kenneth and Christine Dale and Gardner and Hilda Norris, all of Garner; paternal great-grandmother, Mabel Dean Parrish of Fuquay-Varina; aunts, Anita Norris of Raleigh, Paula Ryskeiwich and husband, Tom, of Mebane and Sherry Williams and husband, Kevin, of Sanford; and six cousins. The family received friends on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N. Ennis St., Fuquay-Varina. Dr. James T. Johnson
Dr. James T. “Jimmie” Johnson, 91, of High Rock Dr., Denton, died Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003, at his home. A graveside service was held Saturday, Aug. 9, at Lick Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Hulon Pait officiating. Dr. Johnson was born Feb. 8, 1912, in Elmore County, Ala., to O. A. and Jennie Thomas Johnson. He was an evangelist and was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Johnson. Dr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Martha Virginia Cole Johnson of the home; one son, James Thomas “Tommy” Johnson Jr. of Angier; two daughters, Virginia Johnson Dickens of Fuquay-Varina and Jane Johnson Penney of Franklinton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Shaffer W.
